Chapter 46: I’ve Heard There’s a Great Café
“Siam, what are you grinning about? What is that? A photo book?”
“That’s right! It’s a super deluxe cat photo book that my friends and I worked hard on for two years!” The cute cat-eared girl held up the photo book as if it were some rare treasure.
Luo Shuangxing’s mouth twitched slightly; she probably understood why Siam’s transformation turned out this way. With the level of enthusiasm for cats, it would be strange for the transformation to lack any cat elements.
The power of a magical girl comes from the heart, and Siam’s heart is all about cats.
“Do you want to take a look, Linglan?” Siam waved the photo book in front of Luo Shuangxing, eager to see the look of desire in her eyes.
Unfortunately, Luo Shuangxing wasn’t very impressed.
Although she liked cute cats too, her fondness for them wasn’t as intense as Siam’s, and she had no interest in a photo book filled with cats.
Siam quickly realized this and let out a slightly regretful sigh, thinking she could tease Linglan, but to her surprise, Linglan didn’t fall for it.
“By the way, I know a cat café that makes really good coffee. Linglan, are you interested in checking it out?”
“I’m not that interested, and the Director specifically instructed us not to casually expose our true identities to others. Siam, don’t forget that.”
Luo Shuangxing misunderstood Siam’s intention, thinking Siam wanted to go to the cat café for coffee and play with cats with her.
Going to such a place without a transformation would effectively reveal her real identity to Siam, wouldn’t it?
Compared to the reliable and gentle Senior Rosemary, Luo Shuangxing’s trust in Siam wasn’t as firm, and the bond wasn’t as deep, so naturally, she was unwilling to expose her identity to Siam.
“I haven’t forgotten! I’m just mentioning it. Whether you go or not is up to you,” Siam said, lifting her head and puffing slightly. Linglan didn’t trust her, and she didn’t trust Linglan much either.
Cats are very cautious animals.
“Tch, give me the address. I want to see how good your coffee is!”
……
“I’m back!” Luo Shuangxing shouted as she opened the door, her eyes discreetly scanning the two pairs of shoes by the entrance.
One was a new pair bought by Xia Mo, the other looked like her older brother’s.
Am I being too sensitive? she thought to herself.
Luo Shuangyue, sitting cross-legged on the sofa watching TV, lazily replied without looking up, “Oh, you’re back.”
As if Luo Shuangxing were some irritating pet they had to take care of.
Luo Shuangyue was irritated by this.
“Brother! I found a really interesting place. Let’s go check it out together this weekend!”
“What place? Don’t tell me it’s another haunted house. Last time you two got so scared you couldn’t even stand, and I had to drag you both out…” Luo Shuangyue lifted her eyelids and glanced at her sister, wondering what kind of trouble this little one was plotting.
“I was creating an opportunity for you and Xia Mo to get closer! Isn’t it your fault if you missed it?” Speaking of that trip to the haunted house, Luo Shuangxing felt even angrier.
I came up with an idea to help you pursue Xia Mo, but you mocked me for it. Brother, you have no heart!
“Right, and as soon as you stepped into the haunted house, you took hold of my arm. What kind of opportunity did you create?”
If Luo Shuangyue and Xia Mo had gone in together and Xia Mo got scared and hugged her arm, then indeed, Luo Shuangyue would have to thank her little sister.
But you had to creep in as a third wheel and be the first one to hold my arm. I should be commending my trust in you, little sister!
After all, your hair color is the same as a certain famous sister.
“Unromantic! This time it’s not a haunted house, it’s a café, a cat café!” Luo Shuangxing glared fiercely at her brother.
I can’t argue with this guy; it’s so frustrating.
I admit I had a problem during that haunted house visit, but I brought you and Xia Mo there. Isn’t it a waste of travel expenses not to go in and have fun?
Once inside, she got scared by what was there, so she could only grab something nearby that made her feel safe.
At that time, she had Xia Mo, who was just as frightened as she was, and her brother, who had a face of “is this it.” Who else could she hug without thinking?
“Cat café…” Luo Shuangyue’s expression suddenly turned strange.
She had just visited a cat café for the first time today and was practically inundated with four cups of different flavored coffee from the enthusiastic owner. Though it was all very delicious, it was just too much.
And then the cats in the shop gathered around her, each one trying to claw at her socks and climb up her legs.
It was overwhelming in its enthusiasm, and Luo Shuangyue really couldn’t take it anymore.
She felt that her anxiety about the cat café would take at least a month to fade.
“A cat café? Sounds pretty nice.”
But before Luo Shuangyue could voice her objections, Xia Mo poked her head out from the room, her eyes filled with curiosity.
Right, Xia Mo actually quite liked those furry little cuties.
“Okay, let’s check it out this weekend.” Seeing how interested Xia Mo was, there was nothing more Luo Shuangyue could do.
Her beloved wife needed to be well taken care of.
