Chapter 46 Chapter 47 Lities’ Dream
In the dream.
Jima flapped her wings, soaring above the clouds. Below her, a port looked as small as a matchbox that fell on a map.
The port of Le’an was filled with a light yellow hue. The light yellow spread along the main road and pathways into the distance, tinting the nearby villages to varying degrees. This yellow represented the spread of rumors; the deeper the color, the more people believed and trusted them.
Jima could imagine the elven queen as the source of the rumor, spreading through traveling merchants, tourists, and bards who took these tales everywhere.
Looking at it, the rumor-mongering business was thriving.
A smirk crept onto Jima’s lips as she opened her personal system panel, green text scrolling across the screen.
“DM: Congratulations, you’ve made another small step towards mastering the ‘Fraudster’…”
“DM: Congratulations, you’ve…”
Satisfied, Jima closed the personal information panel and said gleefully, “Elven queen, prepare to die.”
Thinking of that detestable woman and how shocked she would look upon hearing the rumors made Jima unable to suppress a laugh, flipping over in the air a few times.
At that moment, she suddenly felt a warmth rising from below, as if someone were warming her with a heater. Jima floated in the air and looked down, feeling the warmth emanating from the light yellow spreading in the dream.
An indescribable connection was established with the rumors.
Jima quickly opened her personal system panel again, seeing a new message: “DM: Congratulations, you have completely mastered the ‘Fraudster’ ability. You may now prepare for the promotion ceremony and potion, advancing to the next rank of ‘Witch.'”
“Note: The promotion ceremony is derived from ancestral memories. Successful individuals are rare, and there may be defects.”
What bad news. If it weren’t for the ceremony being too ancient, no one updated it, and it couldn’t keep pace with the times, then someone must have deliberately erased or altered items in the ancestral memories.
Jima knew well that ancestral memories could be modified within a certain range or not updated. In doing so, the older generation could firmly control newborns, manipulating them.
Jima did not believe that the demon who granted her ancestral memories was a good person.
But at the same time, this was also good news. The personal system warned her of risks in advance, allowing her to prepare. In this extraordinary world, distinguishing truths from lies was a great help.
Jima briefly looked at the materials needed for the witch promotion potion, and after the promotion ceremony, she eagerly anticipated the “new abilities.”
Each time she completely mastered an ability, her old abilities would be enhanced.
“Ability update:”
“Lies: You can now visually see the state of the lies you produce. Each time a lie is successful, you can accumulate a certain amount of lying power, which can be used to immediately make a lie believable or turn a lie into reality.”
Jima felt a surge of excitement at the words “turn into reality.” Her first thought was how powerful she was, able to make her words come true. Although this profession had almost zero direct combat ability, it was incredibly strong in other aspects.
Could she turn an assault rifle into reality? No, let’s be bolder, how about conjuring a nuclear bomb? Even bolder, bury one in the capital of every race and every country; whoever refuses to obey and offer beautiful maidens, she’d blow them to smithereens.
But before that, she needed to show everyone the power of nuclear bombs. First, she’d take revenge on the two remaining demon lords, aiming to take out as many kin as possible, to scare others while occupying the moral high ground.
In a short time, Jima had become bold enough to fantasize about laborers from all nations building her a magnificent harem filled with beauties of all flavors.
Jima shook her head, waking up from her pink fantasies.
This was merely daydreaming; she could figure that out even with the tip of her tail. With her only being of silver rank, it was impossible to make her words come true. This “lie becoming reality” was definitely not as simple as it seemed. She didn’t know what restrictions existed or what the exact effects would be; experimental analysis was still necessary.
“Let’s continue experimenting when I wake up,” Jima murmured to herself, keeping her expectations low to avoid disappointment, “But it’s just a silver ability; I guess I can only trick little kids. Maybe I can’t even fool George.”
As for ‘visually seeing the state of lies’, she had no idea what that meant.
Jima continued browsing the new information.
“Chameleon: You can now completely distort the surrounding light for invisibility. When you remain still, the magic consumed is minimal, but when you move, it consumes a lot.”
A special ability for stealth that would also be useful in combat.
“Dream Seed: Now, as soon as you enter the target’s dream, you can discern the information about them just by the dream seed.”
That was incredibly convenient; finally, she had a good way to distinguish which dream seed belonged to whom.
Jima found this ability very useful, but as she looked further down, there was nothing more. Nevertheless, she was quite satisfied.
Jima closed her personal system, shifting her gaze downward.
On the ground beneath her, the spreading light yellow began to make sense. It felt both strange and familiar, as if she had noticed a seemingly ordinary pattern on the curtain that actually represented a word she knew well. She was able to read relevant information from the light yellow symbolic of lies.
Jima looked towards the most prominent light yellow area of Le’an port, reading its information.
“It’s the rumor about the elven queen. Many people believe the content of my book; the rumors are quite consistent and haven’t undergone significant changes during transmission. After all, with a book as authoritative guidance, I’m truly clever.”
What Jima had been most worried about was that the rumors would change during transmission, ultimately spinning out of control and leading to unexpected problems.
“Wait a minute, ‘the elven queen is promiscuous and enjoys sneaking abroad to find partners to satisfy her sexual fetishes.’ What kind of rumor is that?” Jima frowned. “How can there be people who believe that a woman who has been assaulted multiple times would run around giving herself away? What’s wrong with their brains?”
“In my past life, even if I had multiple maids reaching climax, I never saw a single maid wanting to be with me; it must be a filthy fantasy of a single man.” Jima continued analyzing. “After all, no matter how convincing the book is, they can’t get with a real person. They can only fantasize about a real person turning into a promiscuous one; this way, they might have a chance.”
As she muttered to herself, Jima recorded her analysis reports. It was her habit; since her mind was ordinary, she needed to think and understand more. She could never be lazy.
In addition, Jima felt a certain connection with this rumor, realizing she could infuse her magic into it to strengthen the rumor.
Without hesitation, Jima did just that. She infused her magic into the rumor about the elven queen, feeling as if she were grabbing a heavy spear, her muscles tightening as she thrust it forward.
“Whoo, whoo, whoo…”
After consuming a significant amount of magic, Jima stopped to catch her breath, looking at the lies, noting the state had only increased slightly, much less than her expectations.
Jima’s brain began to analyze.
“It should be because this rumor has already grown. Rumor-mongering is like starting a fire; initially, I toss out some dry grass and ignite it, causing a wildfire. During the spread of rumors, each person believing it provides ‘fuel’ to it. But when the whole mountain is ablaze, that dry grass I used to start the fire becomes less effective.”
After her analysis, Jima realized when this ability should be used.
“It’s best to use it in the early stages of the rumor to accelerate its spread.”
“Eh? What’s this?”
Jima focused her eyes and saw a black smoke rising from the rumor ‘the elven queen is promiscuous, sneaking around for partners’; the black smoke was emanating from the dream seed, which was normal.
“I’ve planted very few dream seeds. Two are towards Le’an port; there’s one dream seed in the port, which should belong to Mr. Dongdong, and another outside—who could it be?”
Jima planned to go take a look. She pointed towards the dream seed belonging to Mr. Dongdong and reached out to grab it.
In an instant, a force pulled her, soaring across the land. In just three minutes, she traversed a distance that would take several days by carriage in the real world, arriving in Mr. Dongdong’s dream.
After exiting Mr. Dongdong’s dream and looking back at his dream seed, Jima indeed read that it belonged to Mr. Dongdong from the pitch-black dream seed.
Jima lightly leaped, jumping onto the rooftop, gazing at another unfamiliar dream seed. It was located far outside the city. After Jima flew over, she discovered it was situated within a castle, the castle perched on a small hill outside Le’an port, guarding a main road.
In the realm of Knight Barton, few knight nobles chose to reside in the cities.
Jima recalled who she had given her dream seeds to but couldn’t remember clearly. She secretly vowed to not shy away from trouble, to always write down what she needed to remember in her personal system.
Thinking this, Jima reached out to the dream seed and gently pulled.
The distant castle immediately “crashed” toward her, allowing her to pass through walls and enter a bedroom where a dreamy scene lay floating on a bed like a cloud.
Jima dove into the dream as if she had fallen into a layer of clouds.
As her vision brightened, she found herself in a blue sky, with boundless green forests below. The warm summer sunlight cast down from above, warming her hair and skin, filling her with a sense of laziness.
“Ah! Ah!”
“How wonderful, how wonderful!”
Several familiar voices in unison echoed from below her.
Jima unfolded her wings, gliding down, and indeed spotted “Applauding for Love”① with three people beside a river in the forest.
She gently landed on an old tree in the distance, its leaves oddly round; Jima had never seen this shape of tree before.
She peeked at the “Applauding for Love” scene.
Near the riverbank, an exotic sunshade was set up, and on the grass nearby, a few armored female elves laid sprawled out, all tall in stature.
Under the sunshade sat a tall, red-eyed, white-skinned elf woman, completely nude from the waist down and clad in armor on her upper body, moving on top of a small, weeping man. Tied to a nearby large tree was a cursing female elf knight, who was muttering curses at the fair skinned elf woman.
“Oh yeah!”
The red-eyed elf happily straightened up, standing tall. The man beneath her seemed greatly insulted, covering his face and crying.
At that moment, Jima clearly saw the man’s face.
Lities? How did it turn out to be this sick pervert?
The man cried out loudly, “Wah wah wah!”
“Really, saying no with your mouth but crying so profoundly; your body seems very obedient.”
Lities kicked the man crying on the grass.
He cried sorrowfully, still shouting, “Wah wah wah, I’m so sorry, my wife.”
Lities could also be considered beautiful, but why did it seem like he had been ravaged by a wild boar?
Suddenly, Lities turned her head in Jima’s direction.
Jima instantly hid behind the tree trunk. After a moment, she cautiously peeked out and saw Lities continuing to torment the man.
Filled with curiosity, Jima raised her hand to stealthily grasp Lities’ dream.
① Applauding for Love: The sound of applause is “pa pa pa,” thus “applauding for love.” You get it.
