Chapter 17 Expedition
Dream Palace.
Opening the quest “Find a way to obtain the potion formula to be promoted to Diamond.”
The semi-transparent Chinese characters float before me:
“I have successfully tricked the sickly-sweet Wei Lin and Akane into spinning around, and finally obtained the potion formula.”
“It’s time to show off my amazing talent again and aim for the Diamond rank.”
“Once I reach Diamond, I’ll have big-chested saints on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and long-legged fairies on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.”
A trace of bitterness passed through Ji Ma’s heart, and she couldn’t help but think of the night when the four of them gathered in bed.
She merely wanted to share a harmonious life with her sisters, but was a bit too eager. As a result, she was kicked off the bed by the women, watching enviously from the side, trying to seize the moment to sneak some ice cream or take a sip of milk, but was sadly kicked off again.
She could only turn in circles beside them, staring with longing, filled with unfulfilled desires and resentment. In a fit of rage, like a hungry wolf pouncing on its prey, she tried three times.
She fell off the bed twice, and during the third attempt, she was simply held down by the two women and received a beating from George.
Although the Holy Sword had extinguished the flames in her heart, that resentment still lingered within her.
Afterward, she found a secluded place to be alone and, after shedding some tears, felt even more acutely that her own strength was too weak.
After all, it was not the right time to summon “Bald Strong” in such situations.
If only she were strong enough, she could have used force to push back against them.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t escape the promotion ritual no matter what.
She sighed and added a line: “Quest failed because the promotion ritual requires the pain of a loved one, which necessitates betrayal of love.”
But Ji Ma didn’t delete the quest; she merely added three words to the title: “Failed.”
“My goal of building a harem has also failed.”
They were not really her harem; although they could be intimate, there was not much she could take, nor could she indulge fully—at least not yet strong enough to have Jenna and Frostleaf play some role-playing games with her—those that didn’t involve dice.
Her chest throbbed faintly, quite vexing, as if a malicious little man was wielding a hammer, fiercely pounding her ribcage.
Ji Ma clutched her chest, gritting her teeth.
At the peak of pain, cold sweat covered her forehead, and she couldn’t help but think that she would be tortured by this soul injury for a lifetime, enduring pain that no means could alleviate from time to time.
She felt a sense of hopelessness in life; even the fried melon seeds in her hand lost their flavor.
It was unclear how long it took for the sharp pain to subside.
Ji Ma let out a sigh, wiping the sweat from her forehead with a towel.
Having done a deep analysis of the cause of her soul injury, Ji Ma summed it up simply in two words: incapacity.
She couldn’t take revenge on her treacherous ex-girlfriend.
From this point, a series of questions arose. For instance, her obsessive love for beautiful women. Seeking a sense of conquest through sex—after all, sex pertains to everything, aside from sex itself. It was like a dose of anesthesia that could effectively ease pain.
Indeed, I am a hopeless lecher out of necessity.
Ji Ma found herself an excuse, crossing her legs as she contemplated how to satisfy her desires.
Just then, her gaze crossed the windowsill, noticing a plume of black mist rising beyond the horizon; it was the dream seed of Eve Frostleaf, emitting dark smoke.
She remembered she had something to discuss with Eve Frostleaf today.
Ji Ma straightened her back, sat upright, crossed her black-and-white-stripped legs, and checked herself in the mirror. Dressed appropriately, she tossed the mirror aside, inviting Eve Frostleaf over.
Time passed second by second, and unable to resist her thoughts, Ji Ma began eating fried melon seeds. In her mind, she started to fantasize about Eve Frostleaf’s long, silver legs, fluttering like a butterfly, gently flapping its wings in her lower abdomen, making her feel a bit ticklish inside.
When the shells piled up on the table to the height of a fist, the tall figure of Eve Frostleaf appeared at the door.
Ji Ma immediately focused on Eve Frostleaf’s thighs. Unfortunately, her long, slender legs were hidden beneath loose-fitting pants, completely obscuring their allure.
Ji Ma couldn’t help but feel disappointed as her gaze moved upward. Goodness, the chilly demeanor. That long, loose white top hid the curves of her body, draped with a slouchy cloak that covered her neck, leaving only her attractive oval face visible, with her long silver hair tied into a braid.
Coupled with her inherent, aloof icy demeanor.
Even Ji Ma, a die-hard lecher, found it hard to spark any interest. Even the butterfly in her abdomen was instantly frozen into a fluttering husk.
Eve Frostleaf sat down across from Ji Ma, neither greeting nor acknowledging her, her emerald green eyes fixed on Ji Ma.
It was then Ji Ma realized that Eve Frostleaf’s face resembled her father’s, now looking like a handsome man.
I must not let her notice my disappointment; otherwise, I’ll have nothing to enjoy.
Ji Ma heated her gaze and warmly greeted, “Good evening, Frostleaf.”
Eve Frostleaf nodded, treating it as a response.
“I’m pleased to inform you of something,” Ji Ma said, “Your third request to me has been successfully fulfilled.”
Eve Frostleaf owed Ji Ma three requests, but Ji Ma, being lustful, had used two of them in physical battles on the bed.
Eve Frostleaf nodded again and then stood up and vanished before Ji Ma’s eyes without a trace.
Ji Ma continued to speak to the air where Eve Frostleaf had been:
“Your elven White Tower mages are indeed knowledgeable and powerful. The disk I sent over was deemed irreparable by them, using conventional methods, and even they didn’t know how to fix it. Truly, it disheartens me to return to Earth.”
“Thank you for your connections, thank you.”
After speaking, the smile on Ji Ma’s face gradually faded and turned cold.
She sighed, pulling out the disk that Letis had given her. Like herself, Letis was a traveler, but she came from a matriarchal world, while Ji Ma hailed from Earth.
The disk had already cracked into two pieces, made of a material like jade, with strange runes etched on it that she had never seen before.
Ji Ma brought the two pieces together with her hands to form a whole disk. According to Letis, she had crossed over into this world using this item.
“Impossible to repair with conventional methods?”
High Elf magic had been strong since ancient times, and even the White Tower mages said so—it seemed truly hopeless.
Perhaps they believed it to be irreparable, but out of scholastic rigor, they stated it could be fixed?
“I probably should ask the Lord of Transmutation how to mend this thing.”
However, Ji Ma had her worries, fearing that her identity as a traveler might be revealed to the Lord of Transmutation, drawing the attention of the Dark Four Gods to her homeland. If that happened, she would become the most heinous murderer in the history of Earth.
“Then there’s only one way left.” Ji Ma found an answer within her knowledge: “Fragments of the Demon King’s Crown.”
If she could find it, its immense power could grant her a wish to repair the disk. Seeking a way home would allow her to personally “heal” her soul injury.
It was straightforward, not at all like many fables that led people astray.
Now George was trustworthy; she could talk to him and organize a small team to retrieve the “Demon King’s Crown Fragments.” She just needed its wish and, in the process, could also enhance her own strength.
Ready to act.
Ji Ma immediately devised a main quest: “Heal Soul Injury—Find the Demon King’s Crown Fragments and Repair the Disk.”
But at the same time, far away in the capital city of the empire—Adolfli, standing before a massive telescope in the observatory atop the mountain, a mage observing the celestial phenomena witnessed the most ominous sight.
A double-tailed comet appeared in the night sky. Upon seeing it, the mage was instantly frightened, nearly tumbling over.
