I Became a Succubus Girl, But My Life as a Vengeful Demon Lord Isn’t Over! – Chapter 816

Chapter 108: The Hundred and Sixth Chapter – Kuang Shi Duo Duo

A horde of rat trolls surged through the city gate, led by the red-armored ratman warlord.

Today may be the day of total annihilation.

Jima thought to herself, flapping her tattered wings, spinning around and creating an arc as several green lines and green lightning struck, only to miss their target.

Her evasive maneuvers caused her blood to spill from her wounds, the crimson liquid splattering on the ground.

Ignoring the pain from her injuries, Jima gulped down a healing potion and looked down at the battlefield.

It looked absolutely terrible.

An endless tide of rats surged toward the Savior Squad. The clan rats, once trained, roared and charged forward; there were at least two thousand ratmen in this playground alone. Moreover, the ratman elite that had been lying in ambush began to attack, unleashing a continuous flurry of green lightning upon them.

Innocent ratmen from the logistics team fell victim to the chaos, while the dwarves raised their shields, precariously surviving.

The surrounding tide of rats surged closer, threatening to engulf everyone, but Jenna did not cast any battlefield divine spells; she was waiting for George’s command — where to strike?

Should they continue forward, into the outlet from which the ratmen were continuously emerging, and slaughter their way to the stone bridge? But that could be a trap; otherwise, why would the ratmen intentionally lead them there?

Or should they retreat the way they came and seek another route? Yet this might run them straight into the pursuing elite ratmen from behind.

George didn’t think long; the battle situation changed rapidly, leaving no room for reflection.

Several green projectiles struck his armor, shattering and splattering. George raised the giant sword he had just used to sever a ratman’s body and pointed forward, shooting out a red light that landed not at the outlet but a wall over fifty meters away.

“Get to there!”

As Jenna blocked long-range attacks with her shield, the shield’s surface crackled under the pressure, and she responded, “Understood!”

And there, in the midst of the battlefield, she openly prayed.

The clan rats surged forward, wielding spears, trampling over the bodies of their fellow ratmen toward Jenna. A dwarven warrior, wearing a headpiece adorned with rat ears, lost his direction and crashed into the rat tide; he cleaved a clan rat in half with his axe, but three clan rats charged at him simultaneously.

The dwarven warrior stood his ground, only to have seven or eight hands reach from behind and drag the stubborn dwarf to the ground. Once he fell, a dozen sharp daggers pierced through the gaps in his armor, killing him.

He was overwhelmed by the tide.

They surged toward Jenna, a ratman officer screamed, “Don’t let her cast! Kill her!”

The clan rats collided with the transparent shield, a three-meter radius protective barrier surrounding Jenna. But it didn’t hold for long; dozens of ratman sorcerers unleashed their spells, shattering the shield with relentless force.

At the instant the shield shattered, shadows moved within the tide of rats, and three ratman assassins leaped out, their faces concealed by black cloth, green daggers in hand, their curved tails entwining around the blades. The daggers were forged with dimensional stone technology and were saturated with poison designed specifically for mages.

They aimed to cut Jenna’s throat before she could utter the last syllable of her incantation.

A blinding white light enveloped everything; within the white light, a sword beam sliced through the silhouettes of the three ratman assassins, severing them in half. Once the light faded, it revealed George, bearing the battle flag of the sanctuary.

Saint Jenna uttered her final syllable.

A terrifying sphere of light, with a radius of twenty meters, radiated heat and appeared before them. Instantly, dozens of ratmen within the sphere erupted in smoke and fell, wailing.

This sphere was not an ordinary spell that moved randomly; it swayed left and right, leaving a twisted, charred path on the ground, but its general direction was still toward the place George had indicated. Nothing could stand in its way.

Saint Jenna raised one hand, running while guiding and controlling the sphere of light.

George swung his giant sword around, slaughtering the surrounding ratmen as he shouted, “Follow the light and move quickly! I’ll cover the rear.”

The battlefield was chaotic, ratmen swarmed everywhere, and a few dwarves fell beneath the tide of rats behind him.

With a powerful push off the ground, George leapt over ten meters, crushing a ratman underfoot. He swung and cleaved again, causing the clan rats to retreat in fear, revealing the fallen dwarves; George helped them up, urging them to hurry and follow him as he rushed after the sphere. Ratmen, with bloodshot eyes, attacked him like mad.

George stood at the back, leaning against the battle flag — it could prevent the enemy from escaping George’s path, forcing them to confront him. He blocked attacks from the rear of the group.

Green lightning struck from nearby, crashing against his armor; George felt the heat radiating through his armor, as an assortment of projectiles hit him with a thunderous sound, like popping popcorn. The noise diminished significantly after Eve Frostleaf unleashed four arrows toward the distant city wall.

The arrows landed on the parapet, suddenly expanding into a wall of ice that blocked the line of fire.

The pressure lessened considerably, allowing George to check on his squad. Out of seven dwarves, only five remained; he couldn’t see Felix or Butcher Kreit.

The bard’s song was still quite pleasant.

George sighed but then suddenly stepped forward, swinging his sword forcefully, slicing the seven unsuspecting ratmen in half.

At that moment, a “dwarven whirlwind” suddenly flew out from the rat swarm; squinting to look, it was Butcher Kreit, pulling Felix along while shouting, “You little human! You haven’t written a song for me yet!”

With that, he landed decisively, cleaving a clan rat in half, then dragged bard Felix along. A clan rat, intimidated by Butcher Kreit, dodged to the side and thrust a spear toward Felix from behind.

“Get lost!”

Butcher Kreit flung an axe, which embedded into the clan rat’s head. The ratmen were horrified and dared not stop him. Thus, Butcher Kreit dragged Felix all the way to George’s side.

George praised him, “Well done.”

“And what about you?”

George needn’t turn around to see that the stone wall was now drawing closer.

He couldn’t help but worry about Jima, swinging his sword to intimidate the ratmen while scanning the skies for her. Jima flew high, surrounded by green fire, darting around in the air, evading various projectiles, unable to dive down for close combat.

George relaxed; Jima was still as reliable as before, able to take care of herself.

Though in this battle, she would likely only hover above, giving the ratmen practice at shooting.

It was unclear what spells or potions the ratmen had used, initially intimidated by the “Savior Squad’s” impressive individual strength, making them hesitate, but suddenly they surged forth recklessly, disregarding everything.

George retreated, stepping over the charred ratman corpses while swinging his sword to slaughter and reap the clan rats. They rushed in faster than the clan rats could come, and occasionally, a ratman managed to land a hit on George.

Clan rats struck their steel weapons against his full plate armor, breaking in half. One ratman locked onto him and bit into his helmet, its teeth shattering. Another grasped his arm, and George merely swung his sword with force, breaking the ratman’s hands, sending it tumbling to the ground. With another kick, he stomped down on its head and helmet as one would on a cockroach.

Around them swarmed half-sized rats, while fireballs from Eve Frostleaf flew in, causing a blast that engulfed both George and the rats. The expanding flames made the vile rats squeal, yet to George, it was no different from a warm summer breeze, causing him no harm.

Without wasting time on trivial rats, George unleashed a major holy strike, considering the lowly rat’s life. If the clan rats could drain his magical energy, it would be a huge profit for them.

Despite the dangerous situation, it felt much easier to handle than before.

George didn’t let his guard down; didn’t the ratmen know that ordinary armies couldn’t stop this level of supernatural beings? Among the rat swarms, he spotted shadows shifting; it seemed they were concocting some sort of plot.

With less than a hundred meters to the stone wall, Jenna was “pushing” the sphere of light with one hand. The seemingly solid stone path beneath her suddenly collapsed, the void expanding instantly to over ten meters, swallowing up eighty percent of the “Savior Squad.”

In shock, Jenna immediately became distracted, using her supernatural ability without any action or warning. A square transparent barrier quickly filled the void, holding back those about to fall into the trap. Such traditional traps could hardly ensnare powerful supernatural beings.

At this moment, under the cover of the rat wave, dozens of ratmen, clad in magical armor and wielding green scimitars, charged from both sides toward Jenna. Behind them were ratmen chieftains riding giant rats, and further back, blind ratman plague priests, shaking staffs adorned with rusty bells.

All the ratmen’s blades and spear tips fizzed with green bubbles.

They sought to take advantage of Jenna’s distraction, hoping to interrupt her guidance; without the sphere of light, they would be unable to move an inch in the sea of ratmen!

Without another word, George spread his wings of light, turning into a beam and shooting toward the right flank, positioning himself in front of the ratman chieftain riding the rat giant. With a holy strike, the ratman chieftain, battle-hardened, reacted quickly and raised his magical shield.

George’s holy strike hit the edge of the shield, skewing it, and the chieftain was cleaved in two, leaving the rat giant’s head charred black.

Behind George, a stone wall rose to temporarily block the attacks from the opposing side. Frostleaf reacted swiftly.

A scimitar swung in from behind; George countered with another holy strike, severing the weapon and killing the attacker. But more scimitars came from all directions, striking George, and strange red rust appeared on his rune armor as if it were weeping blood.

In the chaos, another ratman chieftain found an opening, driving his sword through the plate armor beneath George’s ribcage; the tip penetrated nearly ten centimeters deep, releasing a toxic curse, causing one of the paper notes on George’s armor to ignite.

George retaliated with a swift strike; the ratman chieftain didn’t even withdraw his weapon, instead jumping off the rat giant. George swiftly pulled the sword embedded in his side and hurled it back, piercing through the chieftain’s back.

As the curse took effect, George hesitated momentarily. The strong rat giant swung a fist down from above, smashing him into the ground. A right hand, holding a green drill bit, aimed toward George’s head, driving downward with force.

The sizzling drill approached, striking George’s faceplate and sparking.

Ratmen crowded around, stepping on his sword and pushing forward, denying him any space to swing — the only tactic the weak could employ.

George noticed the faceplate heating up, the heat stinging his eyes. Silently, he calmly released the sword handle, wrapping his arms around the rat giant’s thick thighs, twisting with all his might, toppling the rat giant, which was twice his height, crashing down and trapping a few unfortunate ratmen beneath it.

George leapt up; the rat giant swung its right arm, the one with the drill bit, but George caught it, gripping its wrist and forcefully pressing the drill bit down toward the rat giant’s head. The ratman’s right arm, thicker than George’s thigh, swelled and bulged with effort, but it was futile.

The spinning drill bore through the rat giant’s head.

Before George could rise to retrieve his sword, a rat giant, carrying a chieftain, charged at him like a bulldozer, sending George flying about three meters into the air.

As he soared through the air, George saw the rat giant leaping forward and noticed ratmen stealing his exquisite giant sword. He also witnessed a shocking scene; from within the radius of the twenty-meter sphere of light emerged six ratman assassins, all engulfed in flames.

Jenna remained distracted, assisting Eve Frostleaf against another wave of enemies. Originally, George covered one side while Eve Frostleaf and Jenna guarded the other, but no one anticipated that the ratman assassins would bravely charge through the sphere, attacking directly.

When George landed, apart from seeing the charging rat giant and the chieftain on its back, he also spotted a green dagger piercing through Jenna’s neck.
