“Sister Qianqian, you’re dressed so simply. It’s such a shame that you’re so beautiful but don’t dress yourself up,” Bai Ya said with some disappointment to Leticia as they waited for the bus at the bus stop outside the residential area.
She had thought she would see a different side of Sister Qianqian today, but Sister Qianqian was still the same. It was obvious at a glance that she was a shut-in.
Leticia’s outfit for the day was a white T-shirt with a large ‘Demon King’ printed on the back, paired with slightly loose trousers.
“There’s nothing to be disappointed about. On the other hand, Bai Ling, when did you develop a taste for dressing young?” Leticia rolled her eyes. Bai Ling, standing beside her, was wearing what looked like a high school girl’s uniform.
If Leticia remembered correctly, Bai Ling was at least twenty-five years old. It was truly shameless for someone her age to wear such clothes.
“Do you have a problem with that?” Bai Ling put her hands into the pockets of her trousers. Combined with her cold, little face, it gave Leticia a sense of subtle handsomeness.
“It’s because this was the only outfit I could find at home…” Bai Ya explained softly.
Bai Ling had very few clothes, and Bai Ya had to search for a long time to find something that was somewhat suitable for Bai Ling.
Even though this was the school uniform Bai Ling wore when she was in high school, Bai Ya was surprised to discover that when Bai Ling wore it, she looked exactly the same as she did seven years ago.
It was as if time had stopped for her sister during that most youthful and vibrant period of her life.
“Online shopping is so convenient nowadays, you can buy clothes online, right?” Leticia offered her opinion. Even Xue Er bought clothes for her online.
“That would lack a sense of ceremony. Sister is finally home, so of course, I have to take her out for a good stroll,” Bai Ya said earnestly, counting on her fingers. “Sister’s been gone for four years, and so many things have changed here.”
“Mmm, that park over there has become an office building, and the elementary school nearby was demolished…” Bai Ling had a very good memory. On the way home, she had already noted down all the changes near their home. “And, there’s a neighbor I’d rather not see.”
“Hey, what do you mean by that? If you have the guts, you can move away then,” Leticia said unhappily, as if she were someone universally detested. No matter what, Leticia was at least pleasing to the eye, wasn’t she?
Unlike Bai Ling, who always had a scowl on her face.
“You two, stop quarreling!” Seeing that the two girls were about to argue again, Bai Ya quickly tugged at her sister’s hem. “Look, the bus is coming.”
No wonder Sister Qianqian disliked her sister so much. With the way her sister speaks, which girl could tolerate her?
“Is this the one?” Leticia asked. She had barely left her home since moving here, so she naturally didn’t know where this bus route led.
“Mhm, this is the one.” Bai Ya hopped onto the bus and swiped her bus card three times on the card reader.
“I didn’t expect you to pay for your sister’s bus ride,” Leticia taunted.
“Aren’t you doing the same?” Bai Ling retorted unceremoniously.
“Heh.”
There were plenty of empty seats on the bus, and Leticia naturally chose a window seat.
The two Bai sisters sat in front of her.
The bus slowly started to move, and the scenery outside the window gradually receded.
As time ticked by, the scenery in Leticia’s eyes transformed from the somewhat deserted streets into a bustling city.
“Central City…” Leticia compared this city with the Demon King’s Castle in her memory, and she somewhat helplessly realized that in terms of architecture, the demon craftsmen were far behind humans.
If only her Demon King’s Castle could be as prosperous and beautiful as this place.
Bai Ling, sitting in front of Leticia, was also staring blankly out the window. In her memory, this place had originally been a small marketplace. She never expected it to become so prosperous in just four years.
“Garden Square Station, we’ve arrived…”
“Sister, Sister Qianqian, it’s time for us to get off.” Bai Ya’s voice woke the two girls who were lost in their own thoughts.
As she stood up from her seat, Leticia quietly said to Bai Ling, “Your achievements are very good.”
Bai Ling’s pupils trembled for a moment. She was surprised that Leticia would actually praise her.
Then, as usual, she shook her head indifferently. “I’ve only done what I should have done.”
She had only kept the conflicts as far away from the human world as possible. As for these achievements, they should be attributed to everyone here, not just her.
“Let’s go, don’t keep Xiao Ya waiting.”
“Tsk.” Leticia snorted. She had finally praised that girl, but she had no reaction at all, which was truly boring.
Following Bai Ling off the bus and looking at the bustling crowd on the road, Leticia couldn’t help but frown.
Aren’t there too many people?
“Where are we going?” she asked.

“A new mall just opened here recently, and they’re having a promotional event, so let’s go there,” Bai Ya said with a smile, taking a flyer out of her small bag.
