Chapter 63: No Title Needed
“Not taking the exam will cause big trouble…”
In the game, missing an exam is considered a disciplinary offense, leading to detention after school. Detention means a possible sexual harassment.
Lu Zhiyin doesn’t want Long Qinxin to suffer for her sake, and besides, she needs to get back to the classroom quickly.
She is not favored by teachers. Returning to the classroom now would probably result in scolding and reprimands, but not returning might lead to detention.
Trying to avoid situations where she might lose her chastity, Lu Zhiyin looked at the rain curtain outside the corridor.
Does the game have a weather system? Lu Zhiyin couldn’t quite recall.
The clouds were very thick, a dark, oppressive mass, and the sound of rain and thunder was quite loud.
Perhaps this is a sign of temperature drop? It will probably get cold after this rain.
The game doesn’t have flood events, so there’s no need to worry about rising water levels, which is probably a good thing.
After a brief look at the clouds outside the corridor, Lu Zhiyin wanted to return to the classroom, but Long Qinxin grabbed her wheelchair.
“It’s okay, you helped me, so I have to help you too. Anyway, that exam isn’t that important to me.”
As she spoke, Long Qinxin made a phone call.
After a few beeps, the call was answered quickly.
“Hello, Uncle Wu, can you help me send a school uniform to the school? My school uniform is wet. Can you? That’s great, thank you for your trouble.”
After a brief conversation, the call ended with a busy signal.
“Uncle Wu should be here soon with the clothes. Please wait a little longer… The rain is too heavy, and I can’t take you to the infirmary alone. I apologize, Zhiyin.”
Long Qinxin’s hands nervously clutched the hem of her clothes. She probably felt truly sorry.
Seeing Long Qinxin’s determination to help her, Lu Zhiyin couldn’t refuse any longer. She did need a dry set of clothes.
“It’s okay, it’s already great that you could help me back into the wheelchair.”
Looking at Long Qinxin before her, Lu Zhiyin felt more and more that she was like a little angel, at least much better than Leng Qing Qiu.
After she finished speaking, Lu Zhiyin and Long Qinxin were speechless, not knowing what to say. They simply stood at the doorway, silently waiting for Long Qinxin’s driver to deliver the clothes.
In terms of poor communication, Long Qinxin and Lu Zhiyin were equally matched.
“By the way, aren’t you and Leng Qing Qiu friends? Why isn’t she helping you?”
Standing at the classroom door, listening to the torrential rain, Long Qinxin remembered Leng Qing Qiu intently working on her papers.
She closed her eyes.
“Ah… she probably can’t afford to offend Qin An. If she insisted on interfering, it would probably just mean one more person suffering.”
Because she needs to win over Leng Qing Qiu, Lu Zhiyin doesn’t plan to fall out with her for the time being, nor will she badmouth her in front of other female leads. She will even try to cover for her appropriately.
However, while appearing to understand Leng Qing Qiu on the surface, Lu Zhiyin had already begun to plot how to get revenge on her.
She planned to find an opportunity to scare Leng Qing Qiu with the bloody photos on her computer, as well as the other human remains left at her home. Once the conquest is complete, she plans to hand these things over to the police station as evidence.
She couldn’t do anything to Leng Qing Qiu herself, but someone could certainly deal with her.
With that thought, Lu Zhiyin continued to watch the rain outside.
“…I feel like she’s a bit hypocritical.”
Beside Lu Zhiyin, Long Qinxin softly commented. Her words drew Lu Zhiyin’s attention.
“Ah… I didn’t mean to ruin your relationship. I was just saying how I feel about her, please don’t mind it. I’m sorry.”
Noticing Lu Zhiyin’s gaze, Long Qinxin’s face turned red quickly.
She impulsively voiced her opinion of Leng Qing Qiu. Is it really okay to speak ill of a friend in front of others?
Long Qinxin was a little unsure.
“It’s fine.”
Actually, Lu Zhiyin also felt that Leng Qing Qiu was a bit hypocritical, but she still couldn’t say it.
After waiting for a long time in the corridor, the person Long Qinxin mentioned still hadn’t delivered the clothes.
She was getting colder and colder. The energy she had just regained was becoming hazy again.
The wet clothes couldn’t dry at all in this gloomy environment. A gust of cold wind brought piercing chill.
It wasn’t winter, but it felt no different than winter.
“Ah… Achoo…”
Lu Zhiyin sneezed.
“I’m sorry… Uncle Wu, he might be stuck in traffic… How about we hide in the restroom first? It should be warmer there than in the corridor.”
Seeing Lu Zhiyin clearly uncomfortable, Long Qinxin felt a surge of guilt, as well as worry and impatience.
She started to wonder if she was too stupid. She should have thought of taking her to the restroom sooner, instead of letting her stand in the corridor exposed to the wind for so long.
More self-reproach welled up in her heart.
“…Ah… Ah?”
Lu Zhiyin was a bit dazed. While Long Qinxin was speaking, she was observing a student’s desk through the window.
Judging by the questions, this class was likely Chinese. There was no place to write a name on the test paper, was it on the back?
Now, perhaps more than half the time had passed.
Lu Zhiyin’s mind was a little unclear, so she could only analyze it roughly.
Slowly recalling what Long Qinxin had just said, she hesitated and looked at the person inside the classroom again through the window.
In a daze, the invigilator patrolling the students noticed Lu Zhiyin. She pulled the curtains shut, making it impossible for Lu Zhiyin to see the situation inside the classroom clearly.
“…Forget it, there shouldn’t be much time left for the exam. Hurry back to your classroom, or you’ll be detained. I heard the Principal of this school is quite terrifying.”
Looking at the closed curtains, Long Qinxin pouted. Then she turned to Lu Zhiyin and refused her suggestion to take shelter in the restroom.
“But your clothes…”
Hesitating to speak, Long Qinxin’s behavior made Lu Zhiyin a bit dazed.
She’s so gentle, becoming more and more like an angel.
“It’s fine. After the exam is over, that Uncle Wu should arrive, right? Anyway, I’ve been wet for so long, a little longer won’t make a difference.”
She tried to force a smile, but failed.
Looking at Long Qinxin, who remained unmoved, she racked her brain to think of ways to put her at ease.
“Ah, that’s right, I can also return to the classroom, right? You should go back quickly. We’ll meet outside the classroom after the exam.”
Lu Zhiyin urged Long Qinxin.
Actually, she didn’t think her detested teacher would let her into the classroom. She would probably be sitting in the corridor for a long time again…
Lu Zhiyin knew that Long Qinxin knew this too. Looking at the white-haired girl in front of her who kept urging her to leave, Long Qinxin suddenly felt like crying.
Why? Why, even though she was clearly suffering, was she still thinking of her? Just like before when she, despite being terrified, stepped out to protect her, the girl’s radiance in Long Qinxin’s eyes grew stronger and stronger.
“…Okay…”
Gazing deeply at Lu Zhiyin again, Long Qinxin rubbed the corners of her eyes and then returned to her classroom, following her step by step.
Lu Zhiyin, on the other hand, knocked on the classroom door. As expected, the invigilator told her to wait in the corridor.
“Don’t you know it’s an exam? You don’t come in earlier and now you want to? Get lost, come back for the next exam.”
An enraged voice echoed in Lu Zhiyin’s ears. Then, the invigilator closed the door and locked it.
Actually, Lu Zhiyin quite wanted to go to the restroom to escape the wind, but restrooms were always places where untoward incidents happened. It was during exam time, so there were very few people, and she didn’t dare to take the risk.
What if she was taken advantage of by some so-called cleaner or plumber? That would be a huge loss.
Although Lu Zhiyin was a bit restless due to her physical condition, she still maintained a little vigilance.
This vigilance might cause her some minor hardships, but it wouldn’t lead to anything she couldn’t foresee.
So in the end, Lu Zhiyin could only sit alone in the corridor, soaking wet, and being blown by the cold wind.
