Chapter 33 Sulking
“That’s true, but I’m not willing to be treated like this, young lady… and I can’t discipline them myself, it’s truly detestable!”
After hearing the young man’s flattery, the expression on Miss Verafia’s small face softened slightly. However, the girl still bit her tender lips in indignation, clearly unable to quell her displeasure at such an offense.
“Young Lady, actually Hel and Ronald still value you quite a bit. You see, these two came specifically to find you earlier and brought us their freshly roasted magical beast meat.”
Igter said with a smile, cutting off a piece of perfectly cooked roasted magical beast meat with the silver dagger that Verafia had casually thrown to him. Golden oil dripped from the silver blade, emitting a mouth-watering aroma. Igter turned his gaze to the young girl.
“En, it tastes quite good. I think it’s the best quality they obtained tonight. Young Lady, won’t you try some? You haven’t eaten all day, and even you must be harming your body by not eating?”
Verafia’s small face turned red with anger as she snapped a small twig in her hand.
“Detestable Igter, I already told you, I won’t have any of this! Ugh, and you dare to show off, it’s unforgivable…”
The girl’s bright golden eyes fixed on Igter, maliciously suspecting that the young man was intentionally provoking her and wondering if she should roast him and eat him.
“But, Young Lady…”
Igter wanted to persuade her, but Verafia clearly had no intention of listening to the young man. She snorted again, flicked her small hand, and petulantly turned her little face away.
“Moreover, this young lady is not like you humans who need to eat and drink constantly. The so-called energy, the entire sky is my supply, why would I need to eat like you…”
Before she could finish speaking, a “grumble” sounded from her stomach under her skirt, immediately causing her snowy cheeks to flush. Her voice even lowered involuntarily.
Verafia was not trying to show off or lie. Like her, absorbing the fire elements in the sky was enough to maintain her life and strength.
Of course, in this human form, although not eating would not harm her body, the discomfort and normal physiological reactions caused by hunger were unavoidable.
—For example, the current untimely rumble made Verafia feel greatly humiliated and ashamed.
“Um, Young Lady, perhaps you should…”
“Ugh… I don’t need you to tell me!”
Verafia glared fiercely at the ungrateful young man, then pouted and forcefully turned her flushed, exquisite little face away.
Seeing the girl blinking her big eyes as if she were about to cry, Igter couldn’t say anything more. He thought for a moment and decided to go and ask Ronald and the others for some other food.
If this young lady starved, he would be the one to suffer in the end.
“Miss Verafia, you… oh, and Mr. Igter is here too.”
Suddenly, a soft maiden’s voice was heard.
Igter looked up and saw a half-elf girl in a mage’s dress, Grisia, holding a staff, approaching the small campfire they were gathered around.
The shadow of the half-elf girl was cast long and slender by the campfire, and her exquisite little fair cheeks were gently touched by the moonlight.
“Miss Grisia, may I ask why you are looking for me and the Young Lady?”
Hearing the voice, Igter recalled the girl’s name and stood up to meet the approaching half-elf.
“Well, there’s nothing particularly special. It’s just that I saw Miss Verafia didn’t have a good appetite earlier, so I thought perhaps she dislikes magical beast meat, just like me. So, I tried to bring some picked berries…”
Grisia looked a little reserved and glanced at the girl who was squatting on the ground, pulling at her skirt and tilting her little face in a sulk. After a moment of hesitation.
“Is Miss Verafia unhappy?”
“I am not! And, this young lady doesn’t want your wild fruits!”
Just as Igter was thinking of how to respond, Verafia jumped up, her fair and pure snowy cheeks puffed out, and said angrily.
Igter gave Grisia a wry smile and shrugged helplessly.
Grisia nodded as if suddenly understanding, a gentle smile appearing on her beautiful face. She clasped her hands in front of her and bowed slightly to the girl.
“Is that so. Miss Verafia, I apologize. It seems I have offended you… Please forgive me.”
“Hmph, you know that already!”
Verafia didn’t know how to respond to Grisia for a moment, so she finally raised her little face and crossed her arms, pouting charmingly.
Suddenly, the girl felt someone take her hand as the half-elf girl approached. Verafia lowered her eyes in surprise, and her gaze fell upon Grisia’s gentle, smiling profile.
Grisia’s clear and bright eyes gazed at the girl.
“However, I heard your dialogue with Igter! And these berries don’t taste bad at all, please try some!”
—
In the end, unable to resist the physiological response, Verafia reluctantly took the greenish berries from the half-elf girl’s hand. She squatted by the campfire, burying the blush on her snowy cheeks, and nibbled on them.
The half-elf girl also put down her staff. Her jade-like slender hand held the corner of her skirt, and the warm light of the fire was blown by the night wind through her blue and white hair.
Grisia listened attentively to the black-haired young man’s narration beside her. After a while, she raised her eyes to look at Verafia, who looked wronged, and said with a hint of amusement.
“So, Miss Verafia, are you unhappy because you feel alienated from everyone?”
“How is that possible! This young lady doesn’t care about people like you!”
Verafia, like a little bird drenched in rain, shook her silky golden hair and struggled to lift her small face, arguing loudly.
Igter spread his hands towards Grisia. However, to avoid being beaten by his young lady in the future, the young man managed to suppress his urge to complain.
But Igter could also see that after eating a few berries, his young lady was gradually calming down… If he were to say anything, he might just get beaten half to death?
“Actually, everyone here is very friendly. I was also cared for a lot by everyone back then. It’s just that everyone in the adventuring party probably thought that a beautiful and outstanding girl like you, Miss Verafia, could not possibly be one of us. They didn’t mean to alienate you.”
Grisia’s emerald blue eyes fell back on the girl in the exquisite skirt in front of her, and her soft, light voice was as gentle as a gentle breeze.

I Was The Hero, But I Woke Up as a Phoenix Princess?!
身为勇者的我竟然成了凤凰大小姐
From the travel diaries of a Phoenix Princess reborn from the inferno, chronicling her life on the road with a supposedly “useless” young hero…
On their journey, their fellowship continues to grow: a Dragon Princess of silver frost, a young Vampire Princess with eyes of blood-crimson, the Saintess of Radiant Holy Light, the noble Princess of the White Iris…
“Hmm?” Verafia paused, tilting her head as she gracefully twirled a soft strand of her fiery hair around a finger. A hint of suspicion flickered in her beautiful eyes. “Ignet, why does this sound suspiciously like you’re assembling a harem?”
“My lady, there is a saying: ‘The fish is what I desire, and the bear’s paw is also what I desire.’ A wise man knows that if he can have them both, his home will be harmonious and all his affairs will prosper,” he began, puffing out his chest with the air of a profound philosopher. “Is that not a truly beautiful thing? A… a paragon of peaceful coexistence?”
He faltered under her smoldering gaze.
“…Ahhh! It was a joke! I’m sorry, Milady, please don’t burn me! I swear my only desire is you!”
