Chapter 253: Fran
Fran’s delicate wings flowed with blood light, and her exquisite dress was torn to shreds by the undead magic. The blood race girl gritted her silver teeth, looking a little strained, but she still lowered her eyes, which flickered with a scarlet color.
“Igter… are you thinking about that girl, and the others?”
Fran’s childish voice cut through the wind of agitated mana particles. The girl bit her lip, seemingly pondering what tone to use. “Actually, it’s none of your business.”
“Miss Fran… actually, I know. I just feel very powerless. If Miss Vera were here… at least, she could have saved Bra.”
Igter couldn’t help but think of the conversation he had with Verafia last night. Now, everything was happening just as she had predicted.
What was Verafia thinking? What were her plans… She didn’t care about others, so what did she think of him?
And, was Verafia in danger? Could she get hurt?
Even though Igter knew he shouldn’t be thinking these things, these contradictory questions intertwined and uncontrollably entered his head.
Igter tried to take a breath. The fierce wind cut his face like blades. The sound Igter made forcefully sounded a little weak.
“Thank you, Miss Fran, for just now. I just don’t know about Little Fei…”
“I just don’t want to worry big sister.”
Fran’s voice made Igter’s recently calmed thoughts become chaotic again. Then, the girl’s soft voice continued, with a hint of worry.
“As for Ophi, the attack just now should not have been able to do anything to her, but afterwards, hmm… it should be fine too. She is the daughter of Genhoa.”
Igter collected his thoughts and nodded.
During their brief conversation, Fran had already fallen from a high altitude. She was only a dozen meters from the ground, and her spread wings were a little overloaded. The blood race girl effortly raised her little head, her eyes swept around, and she made a sound.
“Below… there are dozens of undead and corpse puppets. Those few people, plus that Wood Elf, won’t be able to hold on for long.”
Hearing the girl’s voice, Igter hurriedly lowered his head.
On the broken ground, besides the Wood Elf Ain, who had just fallen and gotten up to draw her longbow, there were several other surviving adventurers around. However, they were in a precarious situation under the attacks of the surrounding undead.
Obviously, the people on the ground had noticed the blood race girl and Igter. Ain shouted excitedly, but her voice was torn apart by the strong wind.
Fran’s wings behind her looked fragile, and the flowing red light was almost exhausted. The girl panted slightly, her voice urgent.
“Hmm… These wings are too small, I can’t fly, I can only be here. Igter, be careful later!”
“Fran, you want to…”
Before Igter could finish his urgent voice, Fran, who had reached her limit, gritted her teeth and threw him hard onto the open ground.
“Miss Fran!”
The young man gritted his teeth, suppressing the pain, and gripped his sword tightly, raising his head and instinctively looking at Fran.
In the sky, a more intense scarlet color suddenly appeared on the small, blood-red figure. The tender little hands grasped the sword that flowed with cold light.
Fran looked at the crowd on the ground, gritted her silver teeth, and seemed to have made up her mind.
Crimson light flashed in an instant.
On the ground, the tainted blood condensed from nothingness, as if guided, the impurities were washed away, forming a pure crimson color.
Fran’s sharp teeth bit her lip, and her delicate, youthful body suddenly turned into a scarlet blood line, and the condensed blood swept away in that instant.
—
The bat wings of the silver-haired beauty fluttered, and a scarlet blood light surrounded them. The pierced holes were repaired, and the scarlet blood line flashed in the air. Several skeletons that were besieging Ain were instantly struck by the crimson blood marks on their bones.
The sharp and piercing cries of the undead skeletons were drowned out by the surging blood light. As if struck by a blood sword, they developed cracks in the shimmering blood light, and then shattered onto the ground with a boom.
“Ugh!”
Ain was finally able to escape the fate of being besieged and torn apart. Her emerald green eyes looked up, wanting to call out to Fran.
However, Fran ignored her will completely. She gently bit her silver teeth, her slender and delicate body stopped in front of her, and her little hand drew her long sword. The flowing blood separated into countless sharp blades, attacking the shrieking corpses and undead.
“She, she… Hey, these undead are very strong, be careful!”
Ain, holding her longbow, wanted to step forward to help. But as soon as she took one step, a blood blade that had lost control slashed in front of her, creating a very deep crack. The Wood Elf’s long ears shriveled, and she quickly retreated a few steps.
So Ain had to rush to the back and help up the young man who had fallen to the ground. “Hey, Igter, are you alright?”
Igter endured the pain, got up, and forced a smile. “I’m fine, I have Fran. Miss Ain, how are you?”
“Me? Although I fell and it hurt a bit… but when I left, I secretly got the Elder’s life pendant. I didn’t expect it to be so effective.”
Between the Wood Elf’s exquisite chest, a delicate pendant hung, held in her hand. On her snow-white palm, it shimmered with a vibrant green light full of life force.
But Ain’s gaze quickly dimmed, and her long ears drooped. “It’s just, I lost Gugu…”
Igter didn’t know what to say for a moment. Suddenly, a startling beam of blood light shot out. The blood splattered on the ground, and even the cooled blood within the corpses, was forcibly extracted, condensed into pure fresh blood, and swirled around Fran’s small body.
Even Igter’s face turned pale, feeling as if the blood in his body was about to be instantly drawn out.
“Hey, are you alright!”
Ain felt it and quickly shielded the young man. Igter shook his head vigorously, his eyes fixed on the slender girl at the very front.
The continuous blood light danced like waves. The cold sword in Fran’s hand was stained blood red. She bit her silver teeth, her eyes trembling, and the blood sword light she swung instantly cut through a tall corpse in front of her, dissolving it into blood and condensing it around the girl.
“Boom!”
The flowing scarlet blood light, like mercury, formed a giant blood-colored scythe. Following Fran’s slender body, it attacked the enemies in front of everyone else. With each swing, several powerful undead were annihilated in front of her.
“Wow, this vampire… uh, no, it’s Fran, you’re so amazing, you can actually suppress these undead all by yourself!”
Ain suddenly realized that Fran didn’t like the title “vampire” and quickly changed her words, saying with surprise.
The undead skeletons in front, which were formed from the deaths of adventurers and then corroded, were actually not few in number, and some of them were high-level powerhouses in their previous lives. Moreover, under the dense undead aura in the entire space, their strength was even greater.
Ain had almost been overwhelmed by the siege of just a few beings moments ago. Although there was a factor that she had just fallen and had to fight hastily, it was still evident how troublesome these undead creatures were.
Igter, however, frowned.
“No, this level of power is not something she can easily control… Fran is clearly struggling, why is she trying so hard?”
