Chapter 50 Descent
“Flarn!”
Igt grabbed the girl’s cold little hand. With his other hand, he touched the girl’s wings.
The girl’s slender bat wings trembled like a startled cat, revealing the wounds on them. These scars were largely due to the unmanageable demonic power during the recent battle.
Unlike Ophi, in his memory, Flarn was always a quiet child who disliked speaking. Usually, she was only seen quietly by Verafia’s side. But that was just Flarn’s choice to protect herself.
Even if it wasn’t apparent on the surface, Flarn really wanted to be like ordinary people.
Suddenly, a Wood Elf Girl walked forward angrily.
“I don’t know what grudges you humans, the Church, and vampires have… Well, although vampires also play some negative roles in our elven stories, even if all of this is true, what does it have to do with such a small child?”
Ain seemed to have forgotten that she had just been dealt with by Flarn a while ago. Her fair and exquisite childish little face looked very angry, and she yelled at the mage and others who were preparing to leave.
“Moreover, no matter what, Flarn just saved you, and that’s a fact. But instead of thanking her, you are cursing her here! You humans, as the elders say, are indeed a race with terrible character!”
“Saved by a vampire? I’d rather die at the hands of these corpses.”
The mage turned around, let out a cold laugh, supported his staff with his intact right hand, and looked directly at Ain. “Moreover, Elf, don’t forget, in this place, do you think we need her to save us?”
Ain was stunned, not expecting him to say that.
Suddenly, in the dim gray sky, the sound of deathly stillness stirred. Flarn, whose hand was being held by Igt, had her tender little face turn pale again.
The strong wind of death cut through the ground like blades. The flesh and blood that were not completely drained by Flarn when she annihilated them withered out of thin air, turning into bones and emitting thick black smoke.
“Is this… that Necromancer?”
Flarn subconsciously wanted to stand in front of Igt, but her little hand was held by Igt. The black mist was burned by the light emanating from the flame patterns on the Sword of the End.
“A vampire, yet possessing such high-quality blood demonic power… Interesting, and she’s even someone by that Bl’s side?”
Igt’s expression was also solemn as he looked at the figure of the Black Robe Mage appearing at the end of the distant plain. Even though it was just a projection of power, it exuded an extremely terrifying aura of deathly stillness.
Even though Igt had already expected that the ripples caused by Flarn’s previous attack would attract the attention of the Necromancer, he realized that when the opponent truly arrived, his previously resigned mindset would still feel a tremor of fear.
“Miss Elf, I told you, this disgusting vampire will only bring bad luck.”
The mage from the Adventurers’ squad clearly anticipated this. He reached out and tore off the torn cloth on his robe, looked at Ain, and sneered.
Without waiting for anyone’s reply, the mage turned around. In the empty wilderness, over a hundred surviving adventurers could still be seen fleeing frantically in terror.
However, his still intact right hand suddenly pulled his staff with force. His emaciated body under the robe was like a charging knight at this moment.
“Hmph, coming to this damned place means there is no way to survive. But, as a citizen of Sacred Light, I would rather die in battle against fiends. Dess, prepare Divine Arts—”
The Necromancer, who controlled the power of the entire domain, finally noticed that a few remaining Platinum adventurers opposite Igt and the others were preparing to attack him.
“Heh heh, a few Platina adventurers actually want to resist?”
As the Necromancer’s mocking voice sounded, a fierce storm suddenly stirred on the ground. The dense Death Magic scraped against the ground, making a harsh sound, like a sea of deathly stillness.
“Wait!”
Igt pulled Flarn in front of him and shouted. Before the storm of death descended, the attacks launched by a few adventurers blasted towards the phantom of the Necromancer!
————
Violent demonic power ravaged the desolate land, and deathly black smoke obscured the sky. Within a radius of ten miles, it wasn’t just the flesh and blood of living beings, but even the corpses of the dead were ground into powder.
Igt held Flarn’s arm, shielding her behind him.
In front of them stood a vibrant, verdant green light barrier, blocking the raging storm of death. Verdant green light shone on the ground, and tender leaves sprouted from the deathly still earth.
“Miss Ain!”
Igt twisted his face. The strong vitality was spreading from the Wood Elf Girl beside him.
The Wood Elf’s tender fingertips touched the dense verdant light. Her fair and exquisite little hand, illuminated by the life force, was like the Goddess of Nature gracefully withdrawing her hand from the lake of life, in stark contrast to the surging gray-black demonic power on the other side of the dividing line.
Seeing his young lady’s state, Igt knew that this Wood Elf miss had an extraordinary identity. However, the fact that Ain could casually throw out something to block the full might of the Necromancer still exceeded Igt’s imagination.
However, the anxious expression on the Wood Elf girl’s exquisite, artwork-like face made Igt feel a sense of unease.
“Ugh, this Life Charm was made by that idiot. Why are so many of the runes wrong?”
On the desolate ground, fierce demonic power scraped like blades. As if to prove Ain’s words, amidst the harsh, sharp sounds, the sound of glass cracking echoed, and a crack began to spread.
The Necromancer’s harsh voice poured in like sand.
“Heh heh, it’s the power of a Life Elf? It seems this Wood Elf has a significant background. This trip was indeed worthwhile!”
Ain’s fair little hand was cut by a flying shard. Blood flowed down her fair skin. The girl, anxious as could be, twisted her little face. “Ugh! I can’t hold it back anymore, hurry and dodge!”
Before the girl’s words fell, a loud explosion occurred. The raging tide of death slammed into the life barrier, shattering it. Before Ain could grab another charm, she was hit hard on the head and let out a cry, being sent flying far away.
Igt’s legs, planted on the ground, were covered by the sand of death. The young man propped himself up with his arms, shielding the girl beside him. His back was cut by the shattered life crystals. In the mutual struggle between the forces of death and life, severe pain emanated from him, causing Igt to bite his lip fiercely, letting blood flow. Cold sweat dripped down his forehead.
“Igt!”
Flarn, who was being tightly held, exclaimed. She tried to struggle free, but the young man’s arm was like cast iron. Suddenly, Igt tightly grasped her slender, cold little hand.
Igt turned his head. In the black sand of death, the figure of the Necromancer was already faintly visible. Even through the hood, his expression could not be discerned.

I Was The Hero, But I Woke Up as a Phoenix Princess?!
身为勇者的我竟然成了凤凰大小姐
From the travel diaries of a Phoenix Princess reborn from the inferno, chronicling her life on the road with a supposedly “useless” young hero…
On their journey, their fellowship continues to grow: a Dragon Princess of silver frost, a young Vampire Princess with eyes of blood-crimson, the Saintess of Radiant Holy Light, the noble Princess of the White Iris…
“Hmm?” Verafia paused, tilting her head as she gracefully twirled a soft strand of her fiery hair around a finger. A hint of suspicion flickered in her beautiful eyes. “Ignet, why does this sound suspiciously like you’re assembling a harem?”
“My lady, there is a saying: ‘The fish is what I desire, and the bear’s paw is also what I desire.’ A wise man knows that if he can have them both, his home will be harmonious and all his affairs will prosper,” he began, puffing out his chest with the air of a profound philosopher. “Is that not a truly beautiful thing? A… a paragon of peaceful coexistence?”
He faltered under her smoldering gaze.
“…Ahhh! It was a joke! I’m sorry, Milady, please don’t burn me! I swear my only desire is you!”
