Chapter 681 Black Flame Fire
A bright light pierced the gloom, and brilliant radiance soared into the sky amidst a shriek. Then, an invisible giant hand covered everything from above, crushing the sword light into pieces. Gaps in space unleashed chaotic torrents.
The air beside him felt as heavy as mercury. Igid grasped the End with difficulty, gritting his teeth. The straight sword edge emitted an unbearable tremor as he stabbed it towards the descending giant hand.
The moment the Demonic Power condensed into a giant hand pierced through, the boy’s body seemed unable to bear it. Flesh and blood instantly broke apart, and black demonic blood, like a dark night sky, flowed out.
But the opponent’s offensive did not stop. Igid endured the pain, raised the End, and a blinding white light ignited, clashing against the substantial sword energy that whistled towards him.
With a loud roar, the black-haired boy was thrown back, smashing heavily against the wall, creating an indentation, before falling to the ground. Around him, soldiers and Inquisition clerics did not attack him; instead, they slowly retreated.
The Knight Commander’s figure landed on the floor step by step, slowly approaching. The metal armor reflected a cold light, just like his indifferent gaze.
Blood dripped from Igid’s mouth onto the End. He forcefully propped himself up with his hand, struggling to stand again.
His gaze remained fixed on Trist, who was walking closer. His tense spirit felt the substantial pressure closing in like a prison, making it difficult for him to even pay attention to the golden-haired girl he had pushed away.
Having cut through Trist’s pressure, Igid faced the true form of this Star Knight Commander!
However, at least, as long as Trist’s attention was on him, his girl would not be in danger… Fraria’s dragon scales were enough for her to escape.
Igid thought to himself, wiping the blood from his mouth. He knew that Trist was not attacking immediately, which was a mockery of his earlier insolent words.
Just as he stood up, the Knight Commander suddenly swung his halberd. A fierce radiance, like countless superimposed blades, roared, almost breaking space.
Igid weakly raised his sword to block, and his body was once again heavily struck and sent flying. In an instant, the flesh and blood all over his body almost collapsed under the unbearable power. Blood splattered, and his chest caved in terrifyingly.
The sound of bones breaking came from the boy’s flesh, as if his heart and lungs were being twisted into a pool of blood under this irresistible force!
Bright red and black blood flowed on the ground, forming a straight line, as if the boy had passed through here horizontally.
The boy’s palm rested on the ground, blood flowing from the ruptured cracks, falling onto the ground. He coughed intermittently, and black blood, with fragments of internal organs remaining, made him look ferocious and terrifying.
However, what was even more terrifying was that the boy’s wounds were healing at a visible rate. Even his sunken chest gradually pushed out and returned to its original state!
“Interesting. Such powerful vitality is unheard of. Even monstrous beasts… and even the snow offspring of the Frost Calamity, cannot achieve this.”
Trist’s hoarse voice slowly sounded, accompanied by the sound of footsteps. “However, this does not originate from your golden flames; rather, it is from that black blood.”
Igid slowly raised his azure pupils. “That’s because you are too ignorant.”
Trist merely sneered at the boy’s voice. Suddenly, he raised his great halberd, and the light that stabbed down trembled heavily on the End. Suddenly, a golden flame ignited, sacred and gorgeous, but he waved his hand, suppressing it under his halberd, almost extinguishing it.
Igid raised his right arm again. After the golden flames burned, black light erupted like a cold, gloomy night. Trist raised his hand to block, and white smoke billowed from his gauntlet, leaving behind a cryptic gloom.
“This seems to be the power of a deity. However, such gloom and evil does not originate from the authority of the Fire Saint… Could it be that in your homeland, you have pledged yourself to another evil god?”
Trist said, his iron-grey eyes falling on the boy’s body, whose bones were creaking, and the evil darkness rising from him. Suddenly, he shook his spear, sending him flying.
“However, this evil god’s power has not corrupted you?”
Igid gasped, sweat mixing with blood, creating streaks on his face. Wounds opened on his arm, and the black blood Trist spoke of flowed down his arm into the sword hilt, extinguishing the golden flames, leaving only darkness.
The Knight Commander was not using his full strength, seemingly not wanting to kill him immediately, but rather to study the source of that power.
“I must admit, Trist, even though you are only a Star, your knowledge is not low…”
The “evil god” Trist spoke of was, of course, not Verafia. Demonic blood flowed within him, originating from the Demon King’s Heart given by the pure white “Saintess,” and transformed by Alden’s demonic ritual.
After he fully accepted it, even Verafia had wondered why he wasn’t completely assimilated.
But…
He lowered his head, looking at the End carrying flowing black blood, the brilliant golden flames faintly flickering.
The blazing flames were a gift from Verafia. And it was the black blood that gave him vitality comparable to monstrous beasts… Trist’s assessment that it was already quite remarkable for someone like himself, who was only at the Star level, was indeed difficult to miss.
However, as the boy spoke, Trist’s face showed a cold sneer. Suddenly, a heavy pressure, like a vast lake, descended. Trapped within it, like being confined under a collapsing sky, flesh and bones trembled uncontrollably, and demonic power became stagnant!
Trist Horn was already a renowned strong person. Even at the Star realm, he stood at the peak. This was a prototype of his domain!
“Even if you have more secrets within you, but you are not even at the Crystal level, what does that count for?”
The moment his voice fell, the Knight Commander stomped his foot, his spear scraping the ground, causing the earth to shatter. A cold glint, seemingly containing the power of the entire space, fell unreservedly towards the black-haired boy standing alone.
But the End was ignited by golden blazing flames. How could a mere rudimentary domain prevent flames from a deity?
The straight sword edge suddenly lifted, the slashing sword mark burning like flames. Suddenly, starlight ignited on the sword, and in an instant, blazing fire erupted, a stream of light pouring out from the sword edge without reservation.
“Boom!”
In the collision, the golden blazing flames instantly dimmed, as if scattered petals, extinguished and withered; but the sword that Igid had just slashed into was infused with the dark demonic blood, dyeing it pitch black.
Igid retreated heavily, but his azure eyes shone like morning stars. The tightly grasped sword was raised high, and black fire flickered on the sword like a banner.
The Sword of Sunset, which Verafia had once taught him, was renowned for slaughter and annihilation even within the girl’s swordsmanship.
However, even Verafia, witnessing this here, would be incredulous and unable to imagine that the swordsmanship wielded by Igid in his hand would be hers.
At this moment, the blazing flames ignited on the End sword merged with the dark gloom, like god-slaying black flames!
