Chapter 215 Sigh
“However, this continent is clearly a world of ice and frost, yet there are traces of flames.”
“This… esteemed Goddess, during the Ancient Kingdom Period, fiery meteors in the sky brought ‘The Saint in Flames.’ We serve His holy name, and with it, resist the erosion of ice.”
A priest, disguised as a bishop, spoke with trepidation. Seeing the gentle gaze of the red-haired goddess, a sliver of hope rekindled in his clouded pupils, and he quickly raised his face:
“Esteemed Goddess, your power is also flame. You must have a connection to the Fire Saint.”
“A connection to flame… it’s not entirely absent.”
The red-haired goddess closed her eyes slightly, as if reminiscing. “However, He is not my incarnation, nor is He a subordinate of flame. Ten thousand years ago, I was wounded by the Sacred Sword. Perhaps that meteor was my fallen fiery blood and fragments of law, which, after eternal time, fell to this land.”
A trace of disappointment appeared in the priest’s eyes. He had hoped that the deity worshipped by the Church would at least be her incarnation.
“However…”
Herafir gently raised her crimson gaze, looking at the sealed fragment of ice in her hand.
“Although I have erased the ice, its frost law remains in my hand. After hundreds of thousands of years, it will still form new deities, perhaps reigniting calamity. This continent still needs its own deities.”
“Your Highness, might you allow all beings on this continent to worship you?” Duke Ilboa attempted to inquire.
The goddess before them was a true deity of flame, possessing infinite power. Even the entire continent had witnessed the scene of her drawing her sword to sever the frost-covered sky and even strike down the frost deity.
Undoubtedly, such a scene would forever be etched into the continent’s memory.
If she were to become the deity of this continent, it would undoubtedly be a cause for celebration for those who worshipped flame, and for others, compared to the frost god, it would be a fortunate event.
“Actually, there’s no need for such praise. The one who did more for you was her… I shouldn’t be the one receiving such gratitude.”
Herafir shook her head with a smile and said softly, “Moreover, this is a world of ice and frost. I am not a deity born on this continent, and I will not stay here long.”
The goddess’s voice remained gentle, but anyone could hear the refusal within it. The Duke and the priests showed disappointment, but no one said anything more.
They were not foolish and naturally understood that the flame goddess before them was not someone they could force. Even if they were to use the entire continent and morality to blackmail her, who could say if she would accept… If they angered the goddess, the outcome might be even worse.
Herafir’s gaze shifted slightly, looking at the North Wind Witch before her:
“Cassleit, you are the other master of this frost. Your demigod body is only lacking the laws of ice. Entrusting this to you is enough for you to achieve the position of divinity.”
As the goddess’s voice fell, many furrowed their brows… Was the flame goddess planning to hand over the origin of the frost laws to this North Wind Witch, making her the new god of this continent?
It wasn’t just the resentment towards Cassleit, but the continent worshipped flame and had been enveloped by frost calamity for twenty years. If another ice deity were to appear…
However, even though they felt it was improper, they had no other choice.
“You choose me?”
Cassleit hesitated for a moment. She had never thought of becoming a deity of ice… But seeing the flame goddess’s gaze, she nodded.
Herafir revealed a gentle smile. A wisp of magnificent flame ignited on her slender fingertips, like a fiery sword edge, dividing one-fifth of the origin of the frost in her hand. “However, you cannot contain all of the frost. I will keep this portion.”
The laws of ice merged into Cassleit’s body, and the phenomenon of frost spread across the sky. Herafir’s gaze fell upon the girl’s pale face, and she gently nodded her head.
The laws of ice had completely merged with Cassleit. Although there was still a distance to true divinity, it was not far.
Retracting her gaze, Herafir looked at the Ice Dragon Girl, who still stood dazed before her. She picked up a bit on her fingertips, and a wisp of magnificent crimson flame spread along the severed frost law, condensing in her slender hand.
A crystal-clear ice gem appeared in Herafir’s hand, emitting a faint frost that, reflected in the hazy frost mist, did not feel cold but rather carried a sense of luxury.
“Miss Ophi, this is for you.”
Ophi didn’t respond. After a few breaths, she slowly raised her face, her crystal-clear frost-blue big eyes seeming to question, “Why me?”
“You are her friend…”
The Ice Dragon Girl’s eyes instantly reddened. Tears like frost-blue crystals streamed from her big eyes, and her sobbing voice choked out,
“You’re not Veer!”
She said angrily, batting away Herafir’s outstretched hand and whimpering as if sulking, then turned and ran away.
Amidst the hurried footsteps of the Ice Dragon Girl, the surrounding people’s panicked and shocked expressions lingered.
Herafir looked somewhat dejectedly at the retreating figure of the Ice Dragon Girl, slowly withdrawing the ice gem she had offered.
“Then, Miss Verafia… what did you do to her!”
A faint girlish voice drifted over. Shiel, standing beside the red-haired young man, earnestly raised her eyes and, gathering her courage, looked directly at the goddess before her.
Outside the city of frost, Shiel had originally been caring for the girl. However, at the moment the flame awakened, she was brought to the center of the frost domain.
Such a question caused the surrounding lords and priests to panic, and they glared at Shiel, even unable to refrain from intervening, lest her words anger the goddess before them.
The red-haired young man took her hand and stood in front of Shiel.
“You are worried about her…”
Herafir said. She hesitated for a long time, then shook her head:
“I’m sorry, deity of flame, in this entire world, there can only be one such person. I cannot interfere… and she also has a destiny that she needs to face.”
“But—”
Shiel’s light gold eyes flickered with light and shadow, and she forcefully raised her face, wanting to say something.
Azer gently pulled her arm and walked to the goddess’s side. “Your Highness, thank you for your confession.”
Although Azer was expressing thanks, his demeanor, neither humble nor haughty, carried a sense of distance.
“As expected, even as fellow flame goddesses… in the eyes of those who are truly her friends, you cannot replace her, can you?”
Everything was reflected in Herafir’s sight. The red-flame goddess, however, did not get angry. Her scorching gaze fell upon their faces, and instead, she gently shook her head, as if sighing.

Ending with Herafir’s perspective. The next chapter will likely conclude it.
