“Perhaps this is the choice of light.”
Herafir’s slightly raised eyes showed a trace of reminiscence. Suddenly, above the sky enveloped by light, several angels with pure white wings flapped and descended from the sky, arriving before them.
Verafia’s [Gold Eyes] trembled slightly. All the angels that appeared in her eyes were pure and luxurious embodiments of light elements. The two leading them, like Seraphiel before, possessed eight wings, making them appear even more venerated.
“They are Michael and Gabriel, the subordinates of Light. I never expected to see them again after the fall of the era of deities.”
Herafir said with a hint of surprise in her [Pupils] as she smiled at Verafia.
“It’s them?”
Verafia widened her [Eyes], her [Beautiful] [Little Face] showing an expression of disbelief. As messengers of Light, Verafia was certainly no stranger to these two Archangels renowned in the Church of Light. However, she never expected to meet such legendary figures.
The two Archangels approached the Flame Goddess and, along with the angels behind them, bowed: “Your Majesty Herafir, our Lord has been waiting for your arrival.”
As manifestations of the light element, angels originally had no gender distinction. However, just like Seraphiel back then, many angels would spontaneously choose their identity during the long passage of time. Therefore, one of the two Archangels before them appeared as a valiant and handsome youth, while the other, with [Beautiful] [Silver-haired] hair cascading down, was an exquisite angel maiden.
“Is that so? But why doesn’t the Light come to see me personally?” Herafir’s calm voice carried the majesty of a Flame deity.
“Sister Herafir.”
Verafia stepped forward and tugged at her hand. She naturally knew of Herafir’s past with the God of Light. However, upon arriving in the God of Light’s realm, she wasn’t here to witness these two deities exchanging sweet nothings… or rather, their grievances. Of course, Verafia didn’t think her “borrowed” sister would be so bored.
Herafir gave her a helpless look. The silver-haired angel maiden approached, and her aura made it easy for Verafia to identify her as Archangel Gabriel, the “Left Wing of God.” The angel maiden folded her pure white wings and bowed slightly:
“You are the current Goddess of Life, aren’t you? Your Highness, our Lord has been watching your actions.”
Gabriel’s voice made Verafia slightly startled, but before she could speak, the maiden looked at Ig beside her. “And this human youth who has witnessed the memories of darkness. Please follow me; your questions will be answered by our Lord.”
Verafia shook her head, casting aside her杂绪, she took Ig’s hand and, along with Herafir, followed the two Archangels deeper into the celestial realm. Even though the deepest part of the Light Realm was visible at a glance, only when Verafia truly walked into it did she feel the vastness of this domain, which was no less grand than their real-world continent; it could be called a world. Following behind the two angels, walking on the path of light, felt like not just overlooking the entire world, but like a higher-dimensional space. Whatever she thought of, even without using her own [Divine Sense], the scenes she wished to see would spontaneously appear before her.
A vast world, filled with prosperous cities. Besides angels, there were more beings from the mortal world, including Elves, Dwarves, and even Orcs… Of course, the vast majority were undoubtedly of the Human race.
Verafia couldn’t help but compare it to the mortal world. There wasn’t much difference. The only distinction was that no matter the race, they were all in an incredibly harmonious relationship. Not only was war absent, but even the conspiracies and struggles that were commonplace in the mortal world no longer existed.
“They are souls our Lord has brought from the mortal realm.” The angel maiden Gabriel’s gentle voice rang out, and she revealed a slight smile. “They were all devout followers of Light. Here, our Lord’s power is enough to sustain the world you imagine.”
Verafia nodded. Not only were they souls carefully selected by the God of Light from among his believers, but the residents of the Light Realm did not need to fight for resources for survival. The blessings of the deities provided everything, so how could any conflict arise?
“It truly is a perfect world,” Ig praised.
Verafia blinked, though it wasn’t that she disagreed with Ig. Instead, she couldn’t help but recall the Holy Kingdom that Mu’en had shown her. The only difference was that Mu’en was indeed a tyrant who wished to ascend to godhood, while the God of Light was a deity with true divinity. However, such a “honeysweet” perfect world… wasn’t this also a form of alms from a deity? And… she was thinking of more, but at this moment, Archangel Michael spoke:
“Your Highnesses, we have arrived. Our Lord is waiting for you within.”
Verafia raised her eyes. As Michael had said, they had indeed reached the dome of the celestial realm, and the palace, sculpted from boundless sacred light and pure radiance, was within sight. However, the two Archangels and the angels behind them had no intention of entering with them. Verafia saw Herafir compose her expression, grip the blade of Levantine, and gently extend her hand, holding Ig beside her, as they walked together into the light before them.
Pure radiance washed over her entire body, but Verafia was already a deity. She opened her eyes, and boundless light fell upon the ground, shimmering and dazzling like glass. Crisp footsteps echoed, followed by a pleasant maiden’s voice:
“Hera… it’s been a long time. This is the first time you’ve come to my palace after burning down the God of Light’s realm.”
From within a golden radiance purer than light, a slender figure emerged. A gorgeous divine gown trailed onto the luminous floor, and her golden hair cascaded down, but it wasn’t dazzlingly blinding; instead, it exuded a gentle softness radiating from the [Beautiful] [Silver-haired]… wait, it was [Golden] hair. No, it seems like it was golden hair that was not blinding at all, but rather gave off a soft aura instead.
“The God of Light… is a Goddess?”
Ig’s eyes widened in disbelief. With Verafia’s power, he could also clearly see the deity’s appearance, a breathtakingly beautiful maiden who was no less stunning than Verafia, a stark contrast to the male deity depicted in church statues. Moreover, wasn’t it rumored that the Flame Goddess and the God of Light had married and given birth to the Sun Goddess Sol… Could two goddesses also form a union?
“To a deity, does gender really matter? Don’t judge with your mortal eyes.”
Verafia pouted her lips, blinking her [Big Eyes]. A playful smile suddenly appeared at the corner of her mouth, and she strongly pulled Ig’s hand:
“Hmph, Ig, you better take good care of this young lady. If you anger someone, I’ll turn into a male God of Life too!”
