Qian Zijing finally moved. He slowly turned around and looked at Lu Jingjing. His gaze was still stern, without a ripple. He spoke, his voice low and magnetic, yet carrying an unfathomable coldness. “Everything you can give me, I do not desire. What you cannot give me, you are incapable of providing.”
Lu Jingjing was stunned, then said, “Mr. Qian, I have money. I am willing to give you all our family’s savings. I also have connections. My husband is a high-ranking official, and he will also help you.” Qian Zijing’s gaze remained cold. He said faintly, “I do not lack money. I do not lack connections.”
Lu Jingjing was taken aback. She had not expected such a lukewarm response from him. Your daughter’s leg condition is also caused by your greed and ignorance.” Lu Jingjing’s eyes were filled with shock.
Qian Zijing continued, “Do you think that if you get sick, you can always find someone to save you?” He shook his head and said, “You are wrong. This world does not revolve around you. People are equal. Your life is not more precious than anyone else’s life.”
Lu Jingjing’s face immediately turned ashen. She reached out, pointing at Qian Zijing, her mouth open but unable to speak. Qian Zijing no longer looked at her. He turned and slowly walked away.
