Side: Prim
When I woke up, Yamato was next to me.
We had gotten into the same bed naked, and I was so happy that it felt like yesterday wasn’t a dream.
However, just as I was feeling a happiness I’d never experienced before, I made eye contact with Mother, who had been sleeping on the opposite side of Yamato.
I was incredibly embarrassed. I never imagined my first night would be guided by my mother, but I found myself thinking it wasn’t all bad.
As if she could read my mind, Mother said something outrageous.
“Once in a while is fine, but can’t I join too?”
Mother is 36 years old and still in her prime. I guess there are days she wants to be held by a man.
Normally, people might turn to their servants, or have relationships with acquaintances or neighborhood boys under the guise of sex education. But since Father passed away only about a month ago, and Mother fled from Valentia, she has almost no one like that.
So, she turned her attention to her son-in-law, Yamato. But is that really okay?
Father must be crying somewhere in the afterlife.
“But things happened before I came to Feel. More importantly, I’m a woman too, you know? Besides, while it’s rare, it’s not unheard of for a widow to make a move on her son-in-law?”
It’s true that a lot has happened.
After escaping Centro, we were constantly chased. Just when we thought we were getting close to Porton, we were attacked by pursuers and thieves simultaneously, and our carriage beast and butler were killed. If I hadn’t met Yamato, I might not have been able to leave Valentia.
Once we entered Amister, we encountered not just An, but even Catastrophe Species. And when we finally reached our destination, Feel, we were hit with the shocking truth that all the Hunters were enemies. I’ve been through a lot too.
After overcoming all of that, I was finally united with Yamato. And now, she’s trying to piggyback on her daughter’s struggles?
And just because she’s a widow, don’t think you can get away with anything!
“I’m not trying to piggyback. Besides, Prim, wouldn’t you prefer it that way?”
I was startled, as if she saw right through me.
To my own surprise, I tend to get excited when things are a little rough or when I’m being watched.
I can accept anything Yamato does, so if Yamato were to agree to Mother’s participation, I think I would gladly accept it.
Did Mother really see through my kinks like that?
“So that’s how it is. I suspected as much after seeing how your first night went. It’s not a bad thing, in fact, I think it’s a virtue that you can devote yourself to your husband.”
That might be true, but I’m not so sure about our private life.
“Don’t worry. After you fell asleep, I told Yamato that Prim gets more excited when she’s teased a little.”
Don’t do something so unnecessary!
What on earth are you telling him!
“It’s okay. Yamato accepts that side of you too, so you should be proud.”
I don’t understand!
Honestly, ever since last night, I’ve been completely manipulated by Mother.
I have to get her back someday.
Wait a minute.
If I’m going to get her back, does that mean I’ll be sleeping with them again?
Does that mean I’ve agreed to it?
I was planning to settle the score in bed, but doesn’t this mean exactly that?
… Huh?
“Well, I’m going to take a bath. Since it’s a special occasion, you should stay with Yamato until he wakes up.”
“Eh? Ah, yes, okay.”
Mother, with a smiling look at my confused state, left the room naked.
Her casual attitude is infuriating.
Just you watch, I’ll get revenge someday.
Side: Yamato
Prim and I are now officially husband and wife, and we’ve had our first night.
I didn’t expect Apricot to join us, so it was an unforgettable night in many ways.
After breakfast, we decided to go hunting today and headed for the Hunter’s Guild.
Before that, I need to introduce Apricot to Ed and Marina, get an update on the alloy’s progress, and then take them to the Marquis Amatista family. So, we’ll probably be going hunting after noon.
“This is the Albert Workshop. This is where your friends are working, isn’t it?”
“Yes. They’ve been very good to us.”
“Right now, they’re testing whether Yamato’s knowledge can be of use.”
“That’s interesting. Still, you two, I understand being close, but you’re in front of your mother. Can’t you show a little restraint?”
We were having that conversation in front of the Albert Workshop. In reality, Prim had her body entwined with my left arm.
I was a little, no, very embarrassed, but since she’s my newly made girlfriend, no, fiancée, no, wife, I should endure this much.
“It’s fine. We’re newlyweds, you know?”
Does the concept of newlyweds even exist in this world?
In this world, where confessing to a man leads to a proposal, and acceptance leads to immediate marriage, I didn’t know how long we could call ourselves newlyweds. Besides, most people seem to pay no mind whether they are newlyweds or not, so I didn’t think I needed to be that considerate.
“Yes, yes. Well, I understand your way of thinking, and I don’t oppose it. In fact, I’m all for it, so I guess it can’t be helped, but don’t cause Yamato too much trouble, okay?”
“I know. More importantly, let’s go in. From what we talked about yesterday, it’s almost complete, so I think they’re adjusting the ratios now.”
“Right. From what I heard, it’s going very well, so my expectations are high too.”
The alloy of Magic Silver, Crystal Silver, and Adamantine Steel that I asked Ed to make was said to be nearly complete as of yesterday. However, it consumes a lot of magic power, so the number of ingots they could make at once would be quite small.
So, Ed is apparently trying not just the three-metal alloy, but also alloys of Magic Silver and Crystal Silver, and Adamantine Steel and Crystal Silver.
I’m interested in those as well. Especially the Magic Silver and Crystal Silver alloy, which is hard to say, so I’ll call it the Magic Silver Alloy, and the Adamantine Steel and Crystal Silver alloy, the Adamantine Alloy. The Magic Silver Alloy can be made solely with ores produced in Amister, so it will be a valuable commodity for Amister as well.
“Oh, you… are you okay?”
“G-good morning…?”
The moment we entered the store, Ed and Marina looked at us with dubious expressions.
Why are they asking in a questioning tone?
“Since when did you two become like that?”
Ah, they were just surprised to see Prim clinging to my arm.
If they ask since when, it would have to be from yesterday.
“Yesterday. Yamato proposed to me, so we officially became husband and wife.”
“The development is too fast! I know I said I’d support you, but why are you already married the morning after?!”
Marina knew about it too?
No, Prim and Marina are close, so it’s not surprising she’d know.
“You’re quick. I didn’t think I’d be beaten to it, but I always thought you two would end up together someday.”
How rude.
Besides, you’re almost there too. Why don’t you marry Marina soon?
“You’re right. In any case, congratulations. I’m glad for you, Prim.”
“Thank you, Marina.”
“So, who is the person next to you? If she’s from Foxy like Prim, could she be Prim’s mother?”
“Yes. To avoid being targeted by Hunters, we were staying under the protection of the Marquis Amatista family. This is my first time walking around Feel.”
“Nice to meet you. I am Apricot, Prim’s mother. I am grateful for your help to the two of you.”
Ed and Marina seemed flustered by Apricot’s polite and gentle greeting, which was the opposite of the lively Prim.
“N-no, not at all!”
“We’ve been helped by both of you so much!”
They’re panicking.
While they didn’t state their family name, they both know Prim has one, and her elegant demeanor might have made them realize Apricot is of noble birth.
Well, they know about Provincial Governors and Guild Masters, and it’s not like it would be a problem for them.
“What about Richard and Talos?”
“Ah, they’re at the workshop. They said they needed high-quality Arms and Armor to call Hunters to Feel, so they’ve been forging Weapons and Armor since yesterday.”
No, you don’t need to do that. The Arms and Armor here are already of superior quality.
“I think so too, but since Grandpa was corrupt, the performance is inevitably one rank lower compared to what Grandpa would have made. Ah, the Mithril Blades and Mithril Halberds you have were made many years ago, so that’s not the case.”
The consequence of those scumbags, huh?
Even though we’ve caught them all, we have to clean up the aftermath. At this rate, it will take a considerable amount of time before Feel returns to normal.
“I see. So, can I greet them later? Is that okay?”
“No problem. Now that you two are married, it’s a perfect excuse to interrupt our work.”
Don’t use someone’s happy occasion as an excuse like that.
Anyway, that’s beside the point. I need to ask about the alloy.
“So, what happened with the alloy?”
“We’re about to check now. We tried three types with adjusted ratios after last night, and three types each of the Magic Silver Alloy and Adamantine Alloy, so you two should come and see.”
“You tried that many? Didn’t you say it was pretty tough to make even one?”
“By layering the fire magic you mentioned onto the deforming process, we’ve increased efficiency unbelievably.”
I see.
If Ed says so, then the efficiency has truly increased significantly.
“Ed also said that this can be recognized as a new magic, so you should submit it for registration later.”
“New magic? And submission? What’s that?”
“Ah, my apologies. Submission means registering the magic you created at the Priests’ Guild. Not everything is registered, and in fact, no magic has been registered in decades. However, if the Goddess of Magic approves it, it will be registered as proper magic.”
Magic registration process.
It sounds interesting, but also troublesome.
“In that case, Ed should do the submission.”
“How can I?!”
He shot back reflexively.
Isn’t that an awfully quick refusal?
“It’s understandable that Yamato doesn’t know, but magic submission can only be done by the person who actually created it.”
Prim explained, and with that, I understood.
“What? Then shouldn’t Ed be the one to submit it?”
“Why?!”
“Think about it. It’s true I gave advice, but Ed actually tried it and completed it, right? So the creator would be Ed. Isn’t that right?”
“No, you, that’s…”
Ed fell silent.
Marina nodded in agreement.
Prim laughed with amusement.
It’s perfect logic.
“Even if that’s not the case, in that situation, I can try submitting it later, couldn’t I?”
“That’s about the size of it. Alright Ed, let’s go to the Priests’ Guild later. Your Crafter rank will undoubtedly increase, and it will be a fitting start to our marriage.”
That’s good.
The alloy probably can’t be revealed for a while, but this magic has no problems whatsoever.
If it gets registered, Ed will be the first new magic registrar in decades, which is more than fitting for a celebration.
“F-fine. I’ll go later. I think it’s unlikely to succeed, so be prepared for a wasted trip.”
He’s sulking.
Well, good luck.
More importantly, what happened with the alloy?
