When we arrived at the Priests’ Guild, a beast carriage was parked there.
As soon as our beast carriage stopped, the door opened, and someone got out. It was the Associate Order’s Master.
Since I am marrying my daughter Meena today, there’s no way I wouldn’t invite her father, right?
“It’s a beautiful day. You could even say it’s perfect for a wedding.”
“Good morning, Associate Order’s Master.”
“Ah, hello. Your Majesty, Your Highnesses, good morning.”
“Good morning. However, today we are all relatives of the bride. Please, ladies, try to relax.”
“Thank you. Lord Yamato, allow me to introduce them. Elmina, Rex’s mother, and Anna, Meena’s mother.”
Ah, I thought they looked slightly different for siblings, but they had different mothers.
Both are humans, but Elmina is a Crafter, and Anna is a Healer.
Huh? Where is my brother-in-law?
“Rex is overwhelmed with his own matters. Even though it’s his sister’s wedding, he’s quite heartless.”
“It can’t be helped. I’m scheduled to return to Feel tomorrow, and there’s also the matter with Muse.”
Ah, so that’s why he’s overwhelmed.
It’s true that Muse’s transfer to the Feel branch has been approved, but with handover duties and other things, they say it will take about a month before she can actually start working there.
Yesterday at the buffet, he mentioned that within that time, he would marry Rosemary and prepare for Muse’s arrival.
Fortunately, Rex and Meena had rented a house together, and since it’s quite spacious, there shouldn’t be any major problems.
However, he also needs to prepare the engagement dagger, and apparently, if an Order’s Master and a Sub-Order’s Master get married, a new Sub-Order’s Master must be appointed, so there are procedures for that, too.
Fortunately, Iris is now an P-rank Order, and more importantly, she’s here with us in the Royal Capital this time, so it seems they plan to push the successor role for Rosemary onto her.
As for me, I’ve already given engagement daggers to Mana and Yuri.
The engagement with Yuri was almost finalized, so I had them pre-made. But Ed, with his unnecessary thoughtfulness, made a few extra and gave them to me, so I unintentionally had daggers to give to Mana as well.
And I still have some left!
What does that guy think I am?
Well, I guess they didn’t expect to receive daggers immediately after getting engaged, so Mana and Yuri were both incredibly happy, and I was happy too.
That aside, I bet Iris’s husband is going to have a tough time too.
After all, his wife is a Butler’s Master and the strongest Order in Feel, and that Order might become a Sub-Order’s Master.
I believe Iris’s husband was a simple farmer.
He’s an S-rank Trader, and one of the people managing the fields in Feel, but I’ve heard he’s quiet and unassuming, so how they met and got married is one of the top mysteries in Feel.
The Priests’ Guild in Amister’s Royal Capital Float was a grand and magnificent stone building.
It had an impression of ancient Greek style.
I thought Feel’s Priests’ Guild was impressive, but this is the Royal Capital, after all.
“Wow… It’s amazing.”
Rebecca is also visiting the Royal Capital’s Priests’ Guild for the first time, so her eyes are wide with astonishment.
“Isn’t there a statue of a goddess here, other than the Father God?”
“Yes. Not that it’s the only reason, but some parts are open to the public.”
Since the Priests’ Guild is a temple, they can’t very well refuse everyone except guild members and believers, can they?
After a brief tour of the Priests’ Guild, we entered.
“Welcome, Your Majesty the New King, H.R.H. Manalease, H.R.H. Yuriana, H.R.H. Elis, H.R.H. Maruca.”
“Head Priests’ Master, we place ourselves in your hands today.”
Upon stating our business at the reception, the ogre Head Priests’ Master, Archbishop Nicholas, quickly arrived.
He is an M-rank Priest and the head of the Priests’ Guild in Amister.
He had also attended yesterday’s ceremony and buffet, so it was well-communicated that we would be performing the wedding ceremony today.
“Primrose, Wing Crest, Trial Hearts, we will guide you to the ceremonial chamber.”
This time, the ceremony will be performed not only with Meena and Flam but also with Mana.
That’s why Head Priests’ Master Nicholas will be presiding. According to Mana, the moment I got married, it was already decided that Head Priests’ Master would be presiding.
Seriously, spare me.
For the brief moment it took to reach the ceremonial chamber, Archbishop Nicholas was talking with His Majesty Reinhardt about something. I didn’t have the presence of mind to listen. This is my second wedding ceremony, but today I’m marrying three people at once, and relatives are also present, so it’s impossible not to be nervous.
The ceremonial chamber at the Royal Capital’s Priests’ Guild is more than twice the size of Feel’s Priests’ Guild, and there are a total of 12 rooms.
At peak times, they perform over 10 wedding ceremonies a day, and with many happening simultaneously, the number of ceremonial chambers is naturally needed.
Since rituals for various religions are also performed, they don’t have too many rooms even with the current number.
“Now, Lord Yamato, please stand before the statue of the wedding goddess, and Primrose, please stand to Lord Yamato’s right.”
Alright, alright.
Archbishop Nicholas will be conducting the ceremony, but since this is a polygamous ceremony, both I and Prim will be with me until the end.
For the second and subsequent wives, they are called the initial wife or the first wife. It’s said that the first wife also stands and recites the vows together.
“First will be Meena. Please stand to Lord Yamato’s left.”
“Y-yes!”
Meena, who is the first to have her ceremony among the three, is extremely tense.
The order of engagement was Meena, Flam, then Mana. However, both Meena and Flam felt it was too presumptuous to marry before the princess, so they pushed Mana to go first.
But Mana said that since she came later, she couldn’t marry before those who had been waiting longer, and there was a bit of a dispute.
In the end, His Majesty Reinhardt mediated, and it was decided to go by the order of engagement. Personally, I don’t care about the order.
It’s still a marriage, after all.
“Then, let us begin.”
As the Priests’ Master declared, we bowed and proceeded to the front of the wedding goddess statue.
“Thou, who taketh a new wife, Yamato Hydrangea Mikami.”
“Yes.”
“Thou, who shalt become a new wife, Meena Fallheight.”
“Yes!”
“Thou, who receiveth a new wife, Primrose Hydrangea Mikami.”
“Yes!”
“Offer your prayers to the holy goddess.”
Following the Archbishop’s words, the three of us offered prayers to the goddess statue.
“Meena Fallheight, declare to the goddess statue that you will become his new wife, along with your new name.”
“I, Meena Fallheight, swear that from this moment forth, I shall become Meena F. Mikami.”
The wedding goddess statue was enveloped in light, and Meena’s library was displayed.
It showed the name she had just declared, indicating that her marriage to me had been officially blessed by the wedding goddess.
“Meena F. Mikami, from this moment forth, you shall be one who receiveth a new wife.”
“Yes.”
Meena, who responded briefly to the Priests’ Master’s declaration, moved to Prim’s side, and Flam stood next to me.
In Helios Orb, this is normal, but for me, polygamy itself is a first-time experience, so it feels strange.
“Thou, who taketh a new wife, Yamato Hydrangea Mikami.”
“Yes.”
“Thou, who shalt become a new wife, Flam.”
“Y-yes!”
“Thou, who receiveth a new wife, Primrose Hydrangea Mikami, Meena F. Mikami.”
“Yes!”
“Yes!”
“Offer your prayers to the holy goddess.”
So this is a polygamous ceremony.
“Flam, declare to the goddess statue that you will become his new wife, along with your new name.”
“I, Flam, swear that from this moment forth, I shall become Flam Mikami.”
Like Meena, Flam was blessed with light as her library opened.
After confirming this, Archbishop Nicholas moved Flam next to Meena and finally Mana stood next to me.
“Thou, who taketh a new wife, Yamato Hydrangea Mikami.”
“Yes.”
“Thou, who shalt become a new wife, Manalease Reina Amister.”
“Yes.”
“Thou, who receiveth new wives, Primrose Hydrangea Mikami, Meena F. Mikami, Flam Mikami.”
“Yes!”
“Yes!”
“Yes!”
“Offer your prayers to the holy goddess.”
Could it be that the summoned names will increase every time a wife is added?
In this ceremony, I will have four wives. The next ones to marry will likely be Lydia and Ludia.
If possible, I’d like to have the ceremony at the Priests’ Guild in Valentia, but if that’s not feasible, it will probably be in Feel or the Royal Capital.
That’s unavoidable, but the number of those receiving new wives will also increase each time, won’t it?
As I offered my prayers, I was thinking about that.
“Manalease Reina Amister, declare to the goddess statue that you will become his new wife, along with your new name.”
“I, Manalease Reina Amister, swear that from this moment forth, I shall become Manalease A. Mikami.”
Mana’s library also opened, receiving the blessing of light.
“With this, the wedding ceremony concludes.”
Prompted by Archbishop Nicholas, everyone except us left the ceremonial chamber.
In Helios Orb, it is considered bad luck to speak to the priests or attendees immediately after the wedding, even if it’s a congratulatory remark. However, in Earth, there’s also an atmosphere of solemnity during the ceremony, so I can understand.
I have seen wedding ceremonies at a local shrine, and no one tried to speak unnecessarily, not even those who happened to be visiting for worship.
However, they took a lot of pictures.
“So now we are also, Yamato’s wives.”
“Yes. Please continue to take care of us, Yamato, everyone!”
“Thank you for accepting me, even though it was sudden.”
“Thank you too, anew.”
“And from me as well, thank you anew. And thank you.”
With this, I officially have four wives.
I still have four fiancées, but their marriages are at least another year away, so until then, Prim, Meena, Flam, and Mana will be my family.
I will never see my family in Earth, Japan again, but even so, I have a new family, so I am happy.
It’s not just for that reason, but I want Mana and Meena to keep their family names and value their families, with that intention in mind.
Meena’s ‘F’ stands for Fallheight, and Mana’s ‘A’ is an abbreviation for Amister.
Flam originally had no family name, so that couldn’t be helped.
However, there are cases where I bestow names, and in Mana’s case, her family name itself might change, so in such instances, we will consult each time.
It’s a hypothetical situation, but if the subjugation of the Demise Species becomes public knowledge, I’ve been told that my family name might change as well.
I embraced each of them, starting with Prim in the order of marriage, and offered my words of gratitude once more.
“Thank you, Prim, Meena, Flam, Mana. I look forward to our future together.”
