Even though Yamato and Prim defeated the Rune Valkyrie, and the Alliance managed to defeat about half of the Venus Amazones, Wing Crest has only defeated about ten Shell Sirens so far.
I, Marina, Fiana, Fiana, Reina, Sir Yuri, Carol, and Yuria are also providing magical support, but it’s safe to say it has almost no effect.
Butler Marisa, Viola, and Eos are engaging in close combat, but apart from Eos, a Hydragonian, Marisa and Viola haven’t evolved yet, so they can only manage to keep them at bay.
Still, Jade and Fluorite are providing backup, so no one has sustained any fatal injuries.
“I think we’ll be fine now that Yamato has joined, but we really lack experience,” Marina said.
“That’s true. Mina, Flam, Raus, and Rebecca are getting used to it, but even so, in a large-scale battle like this, our lack of experience really stands out,” Fiana added.
Marina and Fiana are commenting on Wing Crest’s lack of experience.
Yamato had also acknowledged that.
We entered the Solpreza Labyrinth to gain experience, and even came to this Instant Labyrinth, but a horde of demi-humans equivalent to G-rank is still quite a challenge.
Furthermore, we who are providing support are Normal Class, so our support is not really doing much, which is also a problem.
“I believe Yamato has factored this in, but I am filled with regret,” Carol said.
“I understand how you feel, but there’s nothing we can do about it right now,” Yuri replied.
“I know, Carol. That’s why I’ll do what I can, even if it’s just to keep them at bay. Won’t you, Lax?”
Lax, a water spirit assisting Yuri’s magic from his right shoulder, nodded.
Yuri’s Bestowed Magic is spirit magic, and he has contracted with a water spirit.
Moreover, since he’s using a Tenma Stone for spirit magic on his short staff, the mana consumption for water-attribute magic has drastically reduced.
“Fiana, Reina, are you okay?”
“Y-yes…”
“Mes are really scary places, aren’t they?”
Fiana and Reina are casting spells, but they’re still trembling.
The fifth floor above was only for undead, and there was even a fool who spouted nonsense.
I heard the Alliance dealt with him, but Fiana and Reina haven’t been told the details.
Fortunately, Fiana and Reina didn’t see him.
Even so, after being frightened on the undead floor, facing a horde of demi-humans now is, under normal circumstances, a nightmare.
We have experienced worse battles in the Solpreza Labyrinth, so we’re fine, but this is just too much for Fiana and Reina.
“It’s okay. While labyrinths are scary, they’re also treasure troves for crafters to obtain valuable materials. Even though you won’t be using them directly for a while, it’s good to know what kind of materials can be found in what kind of labyrinths,” Marina said.
“That’s right. Besides, with Yamato and Prim here, there’s no danger to the Beast Carriage,” Fiana added.
Marina and Fiana are comforting Fiana and Reina.
I feel like I should be doing the same.
“That’s right. So, do your best at what you can do right now,” I said.
“What we can do?” Reina asked.
“Yes. Anything is fine, so use your magic with all your might, even if it misses.”
“B-but if I hit someone…”
That’s a valid concern, but our magic has little effect on them, and Yamato and Prim probably wouldn’t even notice if they were hit.
In such a chaotic battle, friendly fire would be fatal, so Yamato will handle that.
After all, he subtly supports us when we cast spells.
“O-okay, I understand.”
Saying that, Reina increased her mana and fired Wind Lance.
Hey!
Isn’t Raus in front of the Wind Lance?!
Well, I don’t think Raus would take damage from Reina’s Wind Lance, but it would still divert his attention!
“Ah!”
Reina noticed too.
The word “friendly fire” is a perfect fit here, and Reina looks like she’s about to cry.
“Huh?”
“Seriously?”
However, Raus had one of his Heavy Fang Clouds, which he had deployed around him, bite onto Reina’s Wind Lance and then proceed to slash a Shell Siren.
No, what is that?
If it were earth or ice, I could have understood it due to its mass, but why can he do that with Wind Lance, which has no mass and is barely visible?
As I thought that, Raus, who turned towards us, waved lightly at Reina.
He knew it was Reina’s magic too, didn’t he?
“If it’s Raus, he can probably do something like that,” Carol said.
“That’s right. While wind doesn’t have physical form, Raus’s Heavy Fang Cloud can absorb surrounding wind and lightning,” Yuri added.
Absorbing surrounding wind and lightning means it also targets wind-attribute and lightning-attribute magic?
He probably can’t do everything, but he can easily absorb Reina’s magic, which is at a lower level than him.
“I’m glad…”
“Don’t cry. It’s not your fault,” Carol said to Reina, who was crying while hugging her.
I don’t think Raus would have taken damage, but there was a possibility he would have flinched, and that would have been dangerous.
“So, Fiana, do you want to try now?” Ed asked.
“Huh? Y-yes!”
Fiana was hesitant after seeing Reina’s mistake, but if she feared friendly fire, she would never be able to do anything.
Besides, Raus noticed our situation, so I think the others have too.
Come to think of it, Flam and Rebecca are constantly shooting arrows, albeit taking advantage of openings, so if they weren’t paying attention to our situation, they’d be hit by their arrows.
Fiana, determined, cast a spell. Like me, she has an aptitude for earth-attribute magic.
However, the Earth Lance she created seemed to lack mass, as if her imagination hadn’t caught up yet.
It’s understandable since she’s still unaccustomed to it, but it’s not much different from an Earth Arrow.
I created my own Earth Lance and applied it to Fiana’s Earth Lance using the Mana Enchantment Multi-Ring.
“Huh? T-this is…!” Fiana exclaimed.
“It’s magic enchantment. The enchanted magic reacts to the wielder’s mana, so this Earth Lance has become Fiana’s magic. It’s not as good as the attribute magic they use, but it’s still a physical form, isn’t it?” Ed explained.
“Th-thank you! Haa!”
Fiana thanked him and then fired the Earth Lance, which I had enchanted, at the Shell Siren.
Fiana’s attack directly hit the Shell Siren, but as expected, it had no effect.
Still, it did cause a small wound, so it wasn’t entirely useless.
The Shell Siren turned towards us, but Mina took advantage of the opening and cut it down.
We may lack experience, but everything we do becomes experience.
For now, we’re relying heavily on Yamato and Prim, but I suppose that will also become experience eventually.
**Side: Prim**
After defeating the Rune Valkyrie and leaving the others to Yamato’s care, I headed to assist the Alliance.
However, as expected from an Alliance composed of veteran hunters, my assistance wasn’t necessary.
Of course, since it was necessary to defeat them quickly, I also defeated a few.
Before long, all the Venus Amazones were annihilated, and shortly after, the Shell Sirens were also annihilated. We then quickly collected the corpses and headed towards the temple in the back.
With only one Beast Carriage, it’s easy because everyone can fit inside and move forward.
When operating multiple Beast Carriages, you invariably have to prepare each one separately.
Moreover, you can advance the Beast Carriage first and then have them run alongside, allowing people to jump onto the deck, which makes retreat easier than with a box-shaped Beast Carriage.
“I never thought operating a single Beast Carriage would be this easy,” Slayer remarked.
“Yes. It’s true that preparing such a Beast Carriage individually is difficult, but I think the Hunter’s Guild can prepare them, so this is something we should report,” El added.
“As a Raid, I also want to somehow possess this kind of performance. Or rather, how much did this Beast Carriage cost?” Caesar asked.
Slayer, El, and Caesar have all given high evaluations.
However, I can’t say anything about the cost since it’s still a prototype.
“This is a prototype, and it’s packed with every piece of equipment a crafter could think of, so it probably exceeds five million El?” I replied.
“Five million?!” Slayer exclaimed.
“Plus, the Mirroring enchantment is 50x, so that alone might cost Divine Gold coins!”
“50x? The maximum value for Mirroring was 10x, wasn’t it?” Frau questioned Mana, who was talking about the Mirroring enchantment.
That’s correct.
“It’s not finalized yet, but it seems that High Crafters can enchant up to 30x, and Ancient Crafters can do 50x. We can do it ourselves because we have Yamato, but it’s not like everyone else can,” I explained.
“I see. Indeed. However, it’s quite ambitious that Wing Crest can prepare High Crafters and even Ancient Crafters in-house,” Plum said, impressed.
Actually, the reason Yamato registered as a Hunter was partly due to my and Mother’s circumstances.
Earning money quickly was also a reason, but Yamato was also interested in being a crafter, so registering was decided long ago.
“Assuming the 10x Mirroring enchantment costs 100,000 El, then perhaps 30x would be 300,000 El, and 50x would be 500,000 El, which would be reasonable,” Lord Yamato commented.
“I don’t know. Besides me, Sayuri is the only other High Crafter readily available, and Yamato is the only Ancient Crafter, so it’s possible the cost will be higher,” Flam said.
“If not, the burden on Yamato and Flam will be too great,” Carol added.
That’s the biggest problem.
The only High Crafters I can immediately think of are Flam and Sayuri, and the only Ancient Crafter is Yamato.
Even with 30x, we can use a larger space than before, and with 50x, it becomes as spacious as a mansion, allowing us to transport more people in a Beast Carriage of the same size as before.
Nobles travel with their servants and guards, but sometimes several Beast Carriages with 10x enchantment travel in convoy, so with 50x enchantment, it might be possible to do it with just one.
Of course, it would also be highly effective for military transport.
Therefore, for the time being, it’s probably best to make it something that requires permission, perhaps from Brother Rai.
“Hmm, that might be true. However, I intended to place an order for the Order’s Guild,” Slayer said.
“That should be fine. There are quite a few of them, and they are still prototypes, so I can’t say for sure when they will be ready,” I replied.
“I see. Also, I was planning to approach the Hunter’s Guild about this for the Alliance. I’ve never participated in an Alliance before, but by chance, this time we were able to merge. And I thought, it would be better for transport to use a Beast Carriage like this prototype rather than individual ones,” Slayer continued.
Slayer and the others nodded in agreement.
Slayer and the others had traveled to the fifth floor using the Beast Carriages owned by their respective Raids.
However, they were all destroyed by the No-Life King.
So, we’ve given them rides in this prototype Beast Carriage, and thanks to that, we’ve received valuable feedback, which is quite helpful.
I wonder if this also counts as a type of evaluation request?
We continued our conversation for about thirty minutes and arrived in front of the temple.
Even from a distance, I could sense it, but this temple really does resemble the Guardian’s Chamber.
What’s more, this isn’t a Safe Area.
“I didn’t expect there to be a Safe Area here, but if that’s the case, then this must be…” Slayer mused.
“If the structure is the same in all labyrinths, then it’s undoubtedly the Guardian’s Chamber. It’s the same as what we saw in the Solpreza Labyrinth,” El confirmed.
The Guardian’s Chamber is said to have the same structure in all labyrinths.
The reason is unknown, but it’s thought to be related to the special nature of the Guardian’s Chamber.
These special characteristics include the Guardian not leaving, and the inability to attack the Guardian’s Chamber from the outside. There are several others.
Of course, we won’t know if it’s truly the Guardian’s Chamber until we see the inside, but considering it’s in a Safe Area, it’s almost certainly it.
We weren’t planning to clear it, but since we’ve come this far, we should probably do so.
