Helios Orb Chronicle – Chapter 287

After Rex-san defeated Prince Airgaitz, the Solemn Army, which was near the main camp and on the left flank, surrendered.

In terms of numbers, it was about three thousand.

Naturally, there were no prisons, so for now, they were disarmed and gathered in one place, but I’m wondering what to do with them.

The Antlion swarm continued to attack even after Prince Airgaitz was defeated, so we fought for about an hour afterward and managed to annihilate them.

However, the sacrifices were not few.

The damage from the Solemn Army was, frankly, only a few lightly injured individuals with no deaths, but when facing Antlions, it was not the case.

After all, there were 1,265 Antlions, 894 Beetle Antlions, 364 Mantis Antlions, 117 Antlion Princesses, 24 Antlion Queens, and one Antlion Empress, for a total of 2,665.

The Allied Forces suffered 73 deaths, 138 severely injured (63 with severed limbs), and numerous lightly injured. Fortunately, due to the nature of the Antlion enemy, limbs that were cut off were not eaten, and about half of the injured have had their limbs reattached by the accompanying healers.

The breakdown of deaths is 39 from the Order’s Guild, 29 from the Yokai Knights, and 5 from Torencia’s Hunters.

All of Torencia’s hunters were High Class, and a total of 26 High Class individuals lost their lives, but considering the scale of the Antlion swarm, the losses can be considered minor.

Furthermore, it is said that most of the deceased High Class individuals were killed by Queens or Princesses.

Having faced such a large number of Antlions, all members of the Allied Forces have leveled up by at least a little.

We are no exception, and this is where we are now.

There were also monster attacks during the journey, so everyone has leveled up.
Hilde is close to becoming an Ancient Class, so I wonder if she’ll be able to evolve soon after abdicating.
Athena evolved into an Ancient Dragonian, becoming a Crystal Dragonian like her mother, the Holy Mother Dragon Gaia-sama.
Raus and Rebecca are also close to becoming Ancient Class, but since I have no idea what will happen if they evolve, I need to make sure they don’t overexert themselves for a while.

The non-combatants in the main camp have also leveled up. It seems the reason was not the Solemn Army or Antlions, but rather monster attacks on the main camp.
There were many B-rank and S-rank monsters, but with Eos, an Ancient Dragonian, present, and archers stationed in the observation deck of the beast carriage, they were quickly annihilated.

Overall, across the entire Allied Forces, ten people have evolved into the Ancient Class.

Regarding the Ancient Hunters, Saya-san, an Ancient Rabitry, has the highest level in the Antlion annihilation this time, currently at level 72.
Next is Faris-san, an Ancient Fairy, at level 71. Following her are El-san, an Ancient Harpy, at level 68; Slay-san, an Ancient Loxy, and Caesar-san, an Ancient Ogre, and Cliff-san, who evolved into an Ancient Human, at level 66; Shazara-san, an Ancient Elf, and Eisen-san, who evolved into an Ancient Dwarf, at level 64; Bout-san, an Ancient Ulfy, and Frau-san, who evolved into an Ancient Human, and Plum-san, who evolved into an Ancient Elf, at level 63.
Only Riot Flag members did not evolve into the Ancient Class, but they all leveled up, and their leader, Lark-san, is level 61, so it’s likely only a matter of time.

For the Ancient Order, Rex-san, an Ancient Human, is level 70; Rosemary-san, an Ancient Ogre, is level 64; Muse-san, also an Ancient Ogre, is level 67; Miranda-san, who evolved into an Ancient Harpy, is level 63; and Delfina-san, who evolved into an Ancient Ogre, is level 66.
The Order’s Guild’s 1st and 7th Platoons also participated in the Slume Lord subjugation, so many people evolved into High Class, and quite a few are close to Ancient Class.
In fact, Lucas is level 57, Lyra is level 55, and several others have reached level 60.

On Torencia’s side, only Certina-san evolved into an Ancient Lamia at level 69. Her son-in-law Cole-san is level 59, Shuran-san is level 58, and the Secondary Saber, Vize-san, is level 62, so I feel they might evolve eventually.

Subtly, Emperorreinhardt is level 63, H.R.H. Elis is level 56, and H.R.H. Maruca is level 60, making the Royal couple’s evolution seem imminent.

Currently, the leaders of each beast carriage and the Ancient Classes are gathered in our beast carriage, discussing future plans.

“Considering we faced such a large army, the damage we sustained is minimal.”
“Yes. If the Antlions hadn’t appeared, the casualties would have been even lower.”
“There’s no use crying over spilled milk.”

If the Antlions hadn’t appeared, there would have been a low chance of avoiding deaths.
It’s usually unthinkable, but that just goes to show the difference in strength compared to the Solemn Army. With all their Steam Battleships sunk and even their cannons proving ineffective, their morale plummeted, making it a plausible scenario.

“Regarding those Antlions, is it really alright for us to take the Empress?”
“Of course. It was Lord Yamato, Prim, and El who defeated the Antlion Empress.”
“Then we will gratefully accept.”

The Antlion Empress is a Demise Species, so her Magic Stone will be a national treasure.
However, since there is only one Antlion Empress, the issue was which country would possess it. Hilde readily said that it would be ceded to Amister.
The reason is that it was us, belonging to Amister, who defeated the Antlion Empress.
There are plenty of Antlion Queens and Antlion Princesses, so there won’t be any disputes over those.

“Your Majesty, what shall we do about the prisoners?”
“It’s a headache, but they have no will to fight anymore, do they?”
“If they still intend to fight after witnessing that, it would be no different from them being volunteers for suicide.”

That’s true.
The Solemn soldiers were easily trampled not only by the Mantis Antlions but even by the Beetle Antlions.
Conversely, it looked like the Allied Forces, especially Amister, were not even a match for the Antlion Princesses, and even the Antlion Queens were easily defeated.

“Even suicidal volunteers wouldn’t do something like that. Anyway, we want to head to Deseo with the entire army. However, if we are to take nearly 3,000 Solemn soldiers as prisoners, our marching speed will naturally decrease, and more importantly, the issue of food will arise.”
“We have recovered a certain amount of supplies from the Solemn Army. We have food, so we can use that to solve the meal issue. However, with regard to marching speed, there’s nothing we can really do.”

There is still space in the Amister Alliance’s beast carriages, but there is absolutely no intention of transporting prisoners in them, and even if we did, it wouldn’t be enough for all of them.
This means the Solemn soldiers will have to march, and the Allied Forces’ marching speed will have to adjust to theirs.

“Speaking of which, many of the Ancient Hunters have become able to use Traveling, haven’t they?”
“That was a good idea!”
“That was indeed a good idea!”

At Hilde’s suggestion, Emperorreinhardt and Rex-san spoke at the same time.

It’s about two days to Deseo, but if we fly, it won’t even take a day.
So, we, of Wing Crest, will proceed to Deseo first, and after arriving, we will teleport back here, bring the Ancient Classes who can use Traveling to Deseo, and then teleport the Solemn soldiers along with them.
I had completely forgotten about it, but it is indeed the quickest way, and minimal surveillance of the prisoners will be required.

Since it will save time, Hilde’s plan to reach Deseo was adopted.
Given the time, tonight only, we will have to guard the prisoners, but they are scheduled to be released upon arrival in Deseo.
Normally, prisoners would not be released so easily, but considering the aftermath of the war, it is not good to go too far.
It is said that this is to show that they are different from the tyrannical royal family, making post-war governance easier, so being a king is difficult.
