Everyone’s levels have increased considerably, as expected. I finally, or perhaps at long last, became an O-Rank Hunter. Since I also hold an O-Rank Order, my next goal is to become an O-Rank Crafter. However, the Crafter’s Rank is not something that can be improved easily; it could take years, even decades.
With Primrose at Level 88, she will likely be promoted to O-Rank Hunter in the not-too-distant future. Mana, Meena, Flam, Lydia, Ludia, and Eos are all E-Rank Hunters, despite some variation in their levels; Mana is on the verge of D-Rank.
Yuri and Rika have both surpassed the mid-50s in level, so they should also be able to evolve into an Ancient Class soon. Yuri will have to slow down his leveling speed due to his age. Athena, not having reached Level 70, remains an A-Rank Hunter, but her level has increased, so she should be fine as is.
Aria, now at Level 44, unfortunately could not evolve into a High Rabbitry. She should be able to evolve into a High Class soon, but she is only 15, so there’s no need to rush. She could even afford to slow down her pace a bit. Mako is at a level second only to Prim, but she’s more concerned with improving her Healer’s Rank than her Hunter’s Rank.
The Butlers Marisa, Viola, and Mirei have also surpassed Level 50. It’s not uncommon for Butlers to fight when traveling by Beast Carriage, and since they themselves wish it, they will continue on this path.
And then there’s Hilde, who has evolved into an Ancient Vampire, astonishing Certina, Carlos, and Charlotte.
“His Majesty has become an Ancient Vampire…”
“An Ancient Vampire of the Royal Family, the first since Eliel-sama…”
“Congratulations, Your Majesty.”
All three are overcome with emotion. Certina and Charlotte are even shedding tears.
“Thank you. However, I will be traveling to Deseo in a few days, and once things settle there, I will abdicate to Hild. Therefore, the evaluation of being the first since Eliel-sama might not be entirely appropriate.”
In the Torencia Royal Family, the throne has been occupied by Vampires for generations. The reason is that the first Queen, Eliel, was an Ancient Vampire, and subsequent Queens were direct descendants. Thus, all women holding succession rights, including those from branch and collateral families, are Vampires. This was apparently decided by Kazushi. Kazushi likely had an image associating Vampires with royalties. There are countless stories like this.
“Certainly, Harpies don’t have that image, but Undines and Lamias also had such tales, didn’t they?” Mako later commented, and indeed they did. Well, I’m not that particular about it.
“What are you talking about? I didn’t evolve after abdicating, so the evaluation of being the first Royal Ancient Vampire since Eliel-sama is not appropriate.”
“That’s right. I’m sure Eliel-sama and Kazushi-sama are rejoicing in the Underworld.”
The Underworld is understood as the afterlife of the Helios Orb. It is said that a corpse is necessary to go to the Underworld, and it is reached through funeral rites presided over by the Priest’s Guild. The methods of burial vary depending on the religion participating in the Priest’s Guild, but cremation is basically the norm. Burial is considered taboo by all religions due to the possibility of becoming an undead. I’ve heard that becoming undead signifies lingering attachments, meaning one couldn’t reach the Underworld even after funeral rites.Incidentally, Dragonians are given water burials in the Crystal Lake on Mount Wilness, and Athena’s father, Souya, who was Gaia’s husband, was also water buried in his coffin. Those who have undergone funeral rites are believed to be alive in the Underworld, which is why Mana said Kazushi and Eliel are rejoicing there.
“Well then, let’s get to the monster appraisal.”
“Indeed.”
“I heard you hunted over 1,600 monsters. You didn’t bring them all, did you?”
When it came to the appraisal, Carlos flinched. No, I wouldn’t make such an absurd request to buy back such an unbelievable number of monsters.
“There’s no way they’ll buy all of them. So, we plan to have them appraised not only in Krater but also in Bestia, Float, and Feel.”
“Even so, that’s still an unmanageable amount.”
As Mana said, we plan to have them appraised in other towns as well, but I agree with Mina’s wry remark. Other possibilities include Emosion, Memoria, Rio, Dragunia, and Lichtenfels.
“If you can use Traveling through them, that would be better, but a price crash is unavoidable. Whether buying or selling.”
Ah, that’s right. Demi-humans don’t yield materials other than magic stones, but due to the large number of Antlions defeated in the Kragen battle, earth-attribute magic stones have significantly plummeted in value in Amister and Torencia. Even the magic stones of G-I Rank Antlion Princess and P-C Rank Antlion Queen are about 20% cheaper than usual, and the magic stones of C-N Rank Antlions and B-U Rank Beetle Antlions are less than half price. Orc magic stones are also being bought at very low prices due to their abnormal proliferation in Mylight. Consequently, fire and earth magic stones are in oversupply.
“That’s unavoidable, of course, but for Saur species, which don’t exist in Torencia, things like hides and fangs would still have normal demand, wouldn’t they?”
While magic stones are in oversupply, this is only the case in Amister and Torencia, and it’s not as if having them is a problem. Therefore, even the Grand Trader’s Master, who operates at the Trader’s Guild Amister Headquarters in Float, welcomes them.
“Undoubtedly. I’ve heard that Saur species are rarely found even in Valentia.”
Saur species only inhabit Valentia, but there are several places where they can be found in labyrinths. They are said to exist in Amister as well, but since Saur species are a type of Dragon, their rank is generally high, and their subjugation difficulty is high. Therefore, most of the materials that appear are from aged Wyverns, Grantpuses, and Precizers. However, Wyverns and the like are C-Rank Monsters, so their material value is not high. But the Saur species we are trying to sell this time will be S-N Rank at the very least. Many Saur species have enormous bodies, so they are rarely subjugated even in Valentia, making them quite expensive and rarely exported to other countries. We decided to sell two Allosaurus and two Mosasaurus, one Megalosaurus and one Tyranosaurus, and five Pteranodons, all of which are giant Saur species.
“Fire Drake, Crater Drake, Island Drake, White Leo, Cannon Monkey, Garum and Terra Garum, Bigfang Whale, and Great Blade Fish too? That’s very kind of you.”
Carlos beams, but we are also bringing many other monsters for appraisal. Since many of these monsters do not inhabit Torencia, the supply is completely insufficient for the demand, but we will have to rely on Torencia’s hunters to do their best. Although G-Rank Monsters appear from the first floor, even alloy weapons should not cause major problems up to the second floor. We also want to resume the investigation of the fourth floor and beyond when we have time.
