Side: Lucas
December arrived.
November had been quite a delivery rush, but everyone was born safely, which was a relief to me.
After all, one of them was my son, born to Lyra.
My son, whom I named Light, was born on November 15th.
I was surprised he was born as a rare Yokai half-breed, a Harpy half-Tigerly, but I was even more surprised that he was of the Winged Tribe.
Harpy and Harpy half-breeds have wings for arms, but in the case of the Winged Tribe, they also have a pair of wings on their backs.
Light had greenish-blue bird-like wings, but as he was just born, they were still quite small.
In fact, I think the wings of Tsubaki, the daughter of Yamato and Prim, were a size larger.
That’s understandable, given who her parents are.
Four days after Light’s birth, on November 19th, Meena gave birth to a human girl, Yamato’s fourth daughter.
Since the child was born at dawn, Yamato named her Asahime.
Then, three days ago, on November 28th, Her Majesty Neige gave birth to a male child, the long-awaited successor to the Vald Beast Duchy, a Foxy.
Apparently, the birth of the Prince named Kazuma sent the Vald Beast Duchy into a frenzy.
I didn’t go, but Yamato and Prim, who made all the arrangements, returned looking extremely tired.
Prince Kazuma can only be invested as Crown Prince after graduating from the academy, which is still about 20 years away. Nevertheless, Prim’s succession rights to the Beast Duke title were affected, and she seemed happy about it.
Incidentally, the succession rights to the Vald Beast Duke title will officially arise when Prince Kazuma and Tsubaki are named, with Prince Kazuma in first place and Tsubaki in second. Prim will be third.
Despite such a succession of joyous events, the moment December began, a very troublesome problem occurred.
The problem occurred in the Valentia Dragon Kingdom.
“Tescatlipoca!?”
“Yes. It seems the Demise Species Allosaurus, Thanatos, was born, and Tescatlipoca appeared as if being chased by it.”
“Worse yet, the Maldosso Labyrinth caused a Labyrinth Flood. There were signs of it before, but the Dragoner’s Guild and Hunter’s Guild worked together to suppress it, and the incompetent lord had his noble status revoked. That went well, and things were momentarily stable, but it’s reported to have overflowed in response to Thanatos’s appearance.”
“In addition, several towns and villages between the Maldosso Labyrinth and the Solpreza Mountain Range were attacked. Maldosso, in particular, is in ruins, and reconstruction is nearly impossible.”
After receiving instructions from His Majesty Emperor Reinhardt to summon Yamato and the others quickly, I brought them to Amagi Castle, where we were immediately taken to His Majesty’s office and informed of the dire situation in Valentia by His Majesty and Her Highness Princess Elice.
The Dragoner’s Guild and Valentia’s Hunters were already in motion, but the town of Maldosso was destroyed at the same time as the Maldosso Labyrinth overflowed. Furthermore, the monsters that overflowed were all moving towards the Solpreza Mountain Range, and it’s believed that two villages in their path were completely wiped out.
The town of Solpreza is currently the front line, and the Grand Dragoner’s Master is reportedly commanding there.
However, in the town of Solpreza, not only monsters from the Maldosso Labyrinth but also numerous monsters inhabiting the Solpreza Mountain Range have appeared. Among them are the Demise Species Tescatlipoca and Thanatos. Therefore, the Grand Dragoner’s Master immediately used Traveling to dispatch a messenger to Float.
The report from the messenger was delivered to His Majesty promptly via the Conform Dragoner’s Master, who was currently dispatched to Float.
Then, His Majesty issued instructions to me, and Mikarna, my third wife, and I hurried to summon Yamato and the others, leading to this situation.
“Understood. Then we’ll fly to Solpreza immediately.”
“I apologize, but please do.”
“Yes.”
After hearing the explanation, Yamato and the others immediately decided to fly to Solpreza.
Mako is in class at Memoria General Academy and not present, but I sent Mikarna to Memoria using Traveling, so she should arrive at Amagi Castle shortly.
However, the situation allows no time to spare.
I, too, plan to head to Solpreza with Yamato and the others as an advance party of the Order.
Reinforcements from the Order’s Guild will be led by the Grand Order’s Master present here, and our wives will likely join us.
Fortunately, our arms and armor are in storage, so we used Traveling from a corner of Amagi Castle and quickly teleported to Solpreza.
Side: Yamato
Upon arriving in Solpreza, I punched away a Winger Drake that appeared before me and immediately generated my Wing Bit Liberator.
I had heard about it, but the situation is truly dire.
Fortunately, the town of Solpreza suffered minimal damage thanks to the Dragoners, led by the Grand Dragoner’s Master, and the Hunters based in Solpreza. However, casualties have occurred.
“Begone!”
I activated Niflheim at its maximum range and unleashed Ice Edge Javelins at the monsters before me, but the Monster Ranks seem to vary greatly.
However, there’s no time to think about such things now.
Prim, Mana, Lydia, Ludia, Athena, and Lucas, who accompanied me, have also begun attacking using their Unique Magic.
Hilde and Flam are on duty, and Meena and Lyra, being in their postpartum period, are not here.
Mako is also working, but I heard the damage was extensive, so Mikarna, one of Lucas’s wives, is currently on her way to fetch her.
In fact, there are many wounded, so even one skilled healer is necessary.
“Regarding the Labyrinth Flood of the Maldosso Labyrinth, it seems we can handle it, just as we heard.”
“I heard M-rank monsters were confirmed, but it seems they didn’t appear.”
“Yes. The problem is the monsters from the Solpreza Mountain Range.”
As Lydia, Ludia, and Mana say, if it were only the monsters from the Maldosso Labyrinth, Valentia could have dealt with it, despite the significant damage.
However, with the monsters of the Solpreza Mountain Range, especially the Demise Species Tescatlipoca and Thanatos, we need to gather the highest forces of the Philia Continent.
That’s why we, as Element Classes, were called, but Mako being in class at Memoria General Academy was an unforeseen miscalculation.
“Ludia!”
“Okay!”
However, as if to compensate, Lydia and Ludia defeated the Alpaga and Tyrannosaurus Rex before us and evolved into Element Dragonewts.
Perhaps because Thanatos is a Demise Species of Allosaurus, multiple M-I rank Tyrannosaurus Rex and A-C rank Alpaga were confirmed.
Furthermore, one of the Alpaga was destroying the gate of Solpreza, so who knows what would have happened if our arrival had been any later.
That Alpaga was defeated by Prim with her Seraphim Penetrator.
“Grand Dragoner’s Master!”
“Lord Manalease! Your rescue is most welcome!”
“It’s nothing!”
And Mana severed the head of the Vortex Dragoon, with whom Grand Dragoner’s Master Lord Harut was confronting, using her Unique Magic, Sterling Divider.
Even for Mana, an Element Elf, it’s difficult to sever the head of a high-defense A-I rank monster in one blow, but this was a complete surprise attack.
Still, I never expected a Vortex Dragoon to be here.
Until we arrived, Lord Harut was the only one of Ancient Class, so even he couldn’t handle everything. And Alpaga are monsters superior to the Tyrannosaurus Rex that caused significant damage to Valentia decades ago, so it’s no wonder the Dragoners and Hunters hesitated.
“Mana, please get the details from Lord Harut!”
“Understood. Yamato… you’re going to deal with that, aren’t you?”
“Yeah, I’m going!”
“Be careful!”
Of course!
I clad myself in Wing Burst, overlaid Sonar Wave onto the deployed Niflheim, and fired Ice Edge Javelins towards an immense magical power reaction.
The Ice Edge Javelins have high homing capabilities due to the incorporated Telekinetic Magic, and I succeeded in impaling Tescatlipoca with two of them.
That likely did little damage, but the Ice Edge Javelins I just fired were not intended to damage Tescatlipoca.
Even Tescatlipoca, which can disappear, is not truly gone from the world.
It’s merely distorting the perception of its surroundings, perhaps with optical camouflage.
In other words, even though its form cannot be seen, its physical body is still present.
Being invisible is a significant advantage in combat, but it cannot hide the Demise Species’ immense magical power. Moreover, when it runs on thinly frozen ground, its ice-breaking shatters spectacularly due to its over ten-meter-long body and powerful limbs.
By detecting it with Sonar Wave and then tracking the reaction of the Wing Bits that form the core of the Ice Edge Javelins, there’s no issue even if its form is unseen.
I narrowed the range of Niflheim and generated countless Wing Bits, scattering them across the entire barrier.
Tescatlipoca, which was trying to break out of the layered barrier formed by Niflheim and Mist Rebellion, lost its opportunity as it was surrounded by Wing Bits and became unable to move rashly.
Towards that Tescatlipoca, I created blades of ice, wrapped them with lightning, and fired the Wing Bits all at once.
This is my new Unique Magic, Infinite Saber Execution.
Unable to dodge the rain of countless Wing Bits and with its invisibility rendered pointless, Tescatlipoca had no choice but to receive Infinite Saber Execution with its own body.
However, Infinite Saber Execution inflicted no fatal wounds, not even a scratch.
Of course, this was exactly my intention.
The Wing Bits I am currently firing are meant to hold Tescatlipoca in place.
My true target is directly above and below Tescatlipoca, that is, the sky and the frozen ground.
I used the ice blades created by Niflheim and Mist Inflation to wound the limbs that were firmly planted on the ground, even while being battered by the rain of Wing Bits, rupturing its blood vessels.
Then, I gathered a portion of the Wing Bits above it into a single, massive blade. I wrapped this blade with ice, lightning, and Mist Inflation, added rotation, and shot it down.
Tescatlipoca, whose limbs suddenly burst, could not evade the giant blade descending from the sky.
The giant blade hit Tescatlipoca’s neck with perfect accuracy, slicing it off like a guillotine.
Tescatlipoca, bleeding profusely from its severed neck, collapsed to the ground and ceased to move.
