“Oh, Athena has fully transformed into a dragon.”
“Huh? …Oh, you’re right.”
With the sky Chimeras swept away and complete aerial superiority secured, I switched the activation range of my Unique Magic Field Cosmos and S-rank spell Meteorite Light Sphere to prioritize the ground.
It was right around that time that Yamato, who was using his exploration spells to monitor the ground, told me that Athena had fully transformed. I used Eagle Eye to look, and just then, Athena’s Magma Light Breath was engulfing the demons on the ground.
Athena, now a Shining Crystal Dragonian after her full transformation, was larger than when she was a Crystal Dragonian and exuded an even more divine aura.
She might as well be called a Holy Dragon now.
Shining Crystal Dragonian… no, perhaps “Glorious Holy Crystal Dragon” would be more fitting.
While she might not have a special attack against demons, Normal Demons were so overwhelmed by her presence that they couldn’t do anything.
In fact, High Demons also seemed to vanish into the light of her Magma Light Breath without being able to do anything. If that’s the case, the current Athena might even be able to fight an Ancient Demon on even terms.
Of course, I doubt there are any Ancient Demons other than the Divine Emperor, who Yamato intends to handle, so it’s unlikely she’ll actually fight one.
As a side note, with her evolution into an Element Dragonian, Athena’s name has changed to Athena Shining Fraydlancia.
I thought it would be Shining Crystal, but that would make her name too long, and Crystal was her name during her Ancient Class. So, as an Element Class, she’s Shining.
As for how Dragonians of other attributes will fare, no one has evolved to Element Class yet, so we won’t know until someone does.
“Her range is shorter than I expected. Ah, so that’s how she’s adjusted it.”
“Yes. Both Granbite Eruption and Breath Edge Blaster are based on Magma Light Breath, so if we can adjust that, the accuracy improves.”
So, adjusting Athena’s Magma Light Breath accuracy was necessary for her Dragon Resonance Magic with Yamato.
Certainly, while Granbite Eruption might be manageable, if Breath Edge Blaster’s accuracy isn’t improved, it could completely incinerate not just small but even medium-sized monsters, and for large monsters, it could ruin most of their materials.
“I see. But with Breath Edge Blaster, you also need to use your ice magic effectively, right, Yamato?”
“Yes. If it’s too weak, I can’t suppress the heat of the Magma Light Breath, and if it’s too strong, it can cause frostbite, leading to a similar situation. The adjustment is difficult.”
Breath Edge Blaster is a Dragon Resonance Magic where Athena’s Magma Light Breath is coated with Yamato’s ice magic, turning the Magma Light Breath into a massive blade.
He’s used it a few times against large monsters, but it seems to be very difficult to fine-tune. At best, only 30% of the materials are usable, and at worst, he’s completely incinerated them, leaving no materials at all.
It’s understandable that it’s difficult to adjust, as it’s like turning Athena’s breath itself into a giant sword. For now, it seems Athena is trying her best to conserve her range so that Yamato’s ice magic can be evenly coated.
“Ah, she took off again… no, that’s a little different?”
“But she’s spreading her wings. Ah, she used Blaze Light Blade too.”
I wondered what she was doing this time, but she only floated up slightly before coating her claws with Blaze Light Blade and then enveloping herself in Wing Burst.
Then, adopting a crouched posture, she suddenly accelerated and charged at a demon that appeared to be their commander.
I see, she was using Scaffolding as well.
She could accelerate by kicking off the walls, and by going all out with not only Wing Burst but also Physicalize and Manaize, she reached the apparent commander in almost an instant.
However, her aim was a bit off, and she passed just above the commander. But the sonic boom generated blew away not only the commander but also the demons in Athena’s path, inflicting significant damage.
If she had also used her Unique Magic Light Feather, she probably could have defeated them with that alone. But Athena, Meena, and Flam only evolved to Element Class right before advancing on Abaricia, so they aren’t used to it yet.
Still, that attack, or rather, just her movement, could become a new Unique Magic for Athena if used effectively.
She gained fire attribute magic and Barrier Magic upon evolving into an Element Dragonian, so I believe she can manage the impact of the sonic boom.
Well, that’s a discussion for after this battle. Using it carelessly on the ground would cause immense collateral damage, so she’d probably only test it in a labyrinth.
But it seems like it could be interesting, so I’ll suggest it to Athena later.
Side: Athena
Having fully transformed into a Shining Crystal Dragonian, I unleashed my Unique Magic, Magma Light Breath, without mercy upon the demons who had lost their will to fight upon seeing me.
My Magma Light Breath incorporates Telekinetic Magic, allowing me to change its trajectory. With the addition of the Barrier Magic I gained upon evolving into an Element Dragonian, I can also choose to unleash it in a specific area.
Therefore, none of the demons commanding from the rear were harmed in the slightest.
If I wanted to, I could have defeated them all with a single breath, but I was told not to do that, as it would take away the achievements of the Ritters and Hunters.
It’s troublesome, but if I did that, not only would the point of organizing such a large army and using the Wing of Order be lost, but it could also lead to discontent and future worries if complaints and dissatisfaction accumulated.
“Whoa… this is my first time seeing Athena’s Magma Light Breath after her evolution, but its power has increased tremendously.”
“I evolved into an Element Dragonian recently, but I had thought carefully about how to enhance my powers.”
Lyra sounds astonished, but I also acknowledge that I’ve become stronger than I expected.
However, Magma Light Breath was the first Unique Magic I created, and it’s a spell that’s easy to use whether I’m in dragon form or not, so I’ve often practiced fine-tuning it.
Perhaps that has led to the current situation.
But still, I feel like I’m defeating more demons than I expected.
“Then I’ll go defeat Leo’s Chimera.”
“Ah, leave it to us. We’ll handle the remaining demons.”
“Right.”
After a brief nod to Lucas and Lyra, who took on the remaining demons, I spread my four wings, two on each side, and floated up slightly.
If I make a mistake in my calculations, I might crash into the Wing of Order above, so this time I used Scaffolding to hover about ten meters above the ground.
After this, I’ll use the Scaffolding behind me as an invisible wall, kick off it to accelerate, and charge.
But before that, I’ll coat the claws on both my arms with my Unique Magic Blaze Light Blade.
By extending the earth-attribute infused claws, coating them with fire attribute magic, fanning them with wind attribute magic, and further adding lightning attribute magic, I’ve created an effect similar to Prim’s Blazing Wings. Therefore, mediocre weapons won’t be able to withstand my claws.
Finally, I’ll envelop myself in Wing Burst and use Flying to ascend slightly, use the Scaffolding created behind me as a starter to accelerate, and then charge towards Leo’s Chimera!
“What!!”
In my haste, I passed slightly above Leo’s Chimera, but the demon commander riding on its back was blown away by the shock and slammed into the ground.
Looking at it, Leo’s Chimera also seems quite injured. Did it really sustain that much damage from just that?
I only moved, that’s all.
Slightly surprised, but with demons and a Chimera as opponents, there was no option but to defeat them.
So, I extended my Blaze Light Blade and swung it horizontally.
Several nearby demons were sliced apart simultaneously.
Among them was the commander who had been blown away, but I continued to slice through them without hesitation.
Then, I restrained the remaining Leo’s Chimera with Telekinetic Magic, pulled it closer, and stabbed it with my Blaze Light Blade, which had been transformed into a spear, before throwing it straight up and finishing it off with Magma Light Breath.
Leo’s Chimera is an A-rank monster, so its materials are valuable and have many uses. However, I can’t bring myself to use the materials of a monster that has become a Chimera, as it’s frightening. Thus, I can defeat it without hesitation.
It ended surprisingly easily, but Dragonians, once they fully transform, can fight against stronger monsters on even terms. So, as an Element Dragonian, I can fight even an A-rank monster, albeit a Chimera, with an advantage.
Oh, there are still more demons.
They’re hesitating as they see me, but I have no intention of showing them any mercy.
However, from this position, if I attack carelessly, I might involve our allies, so I can’t carelessly use my Unique Magic.
If only I had created a new Unique Magic as well.
It’s not that I was slacking; I was prioritizing getting used to the Shining Crystal Dragonian form and didn’t have the spare energy.
But that’s just an excuse. I should have been thinking about Unique Magic beforehand, so perhaps it is laziness after all.
It is, isn’t it?
When we get back, no, after this battle is over, I’ll make sure to think about it.
