This time, I want to explain the job titles of MAOcorporation’s Testers.
The Testers’ job titles are merely equivalent to departments in a normal company.
The only difference is that they have adopted an unthinkable system where one can choose their preferred department.
However, this system is expected to be reviewed in the second batch of recruits.
① Basic Four Classes
1. Warrior
This is a job that uses front-line weapons as their primary armament. They charge into the enemy in the front lines, acting as a shield for the backliners and supporting the battle line. In this work, the only pure swordsman is the protagonist, Jiro Tanaka. A characteristic is that their physical stats tend to grow easily, regardless of their combat style. Furthermore, they can increase their magic power using magic circulation techniques like Body Reinforcement, but their growth in that aspect is not quite as good as magic-focused jobs. Naturally, as they are frontliners, they face the highest danger within Dungeons. Consequently, currently, only three Testers can be frontliners, and only one is a pure Warrior, indicating its unpopularity.
2. Archer
Although called Archers, this is a general term for back-row weapon users. Since guns are meaningless within Dungeons, they primarily use arrows enchanted with magic or arrows created by magic. However, due to issues like running out of ammunition and the difficulty of handling bows, their popularity is slow to grow, and currently, they are only slightly more numerous than Warriors. They often double as Explorers, and their role in reconnaissance is prominent. Unlike Warriors, their defensive stats like durability tend not to grow, but conversely, agility and dexterity tend to grow easily. Magic-related stats also grow more easily than for Warriors.
3. Healer
Referred to as Healers or Heroines, they are responsible for recovery. They are a vital lifeline that every Party wants to have at least one of, and they also save on recovery items, which is easy on the wallet. They often also serve as Mages, but such individuals try to chase two rabbits, recovery and attack magic, and end up being not quite proficient in either. However, if they focus solely on healing, their offensive power becomes nonexistent, making the balance difficult to achieve. Magic management is also important, requiring a broad perspective to oversee the entire situation. Naturally, their magic stat grows significantly, but since they also wield magic that affects the body, their dexterity and knowledge also grow considerably. Like Masaru Tokorozawa, incorporating martial arts allows for physical stat growth as well, but due to the established image of Healers being in the back row, the number of active Healers is currently small. However, because it gives the impression that they don’t have to fight, the number of people in this role is considerable.
4. Mage
This is the quintessential class of fantasy. They are broadly divided into offensive Mages and support Mages, and currently, seventy percent of Testers fall into this category. The majority are users of attack magic, but there are also those who double as Healers or incorporate buff magic. They possess unmatched firepower when it comes to clearing areas and defeating opponents, surpassing any other class. Their magic stat grows the most easily. On the other hand, their physical stats are difficult to grow unless intentionally developed, leaving concerns about their defenses, especially since they cannot equip heavy armor. Also, while their total magic power is the highest among all classes, their consumption is proportionally intense. It is the most glamorous class and the most popular.
From a company perspective, the basic concept is that Parties can conquer Dungeons with these four classes, and if they can defend, there are no problems. However, this is merely the basic framework. While it is fine for the current situation, in the future, it is desired that even Parties with fewer than four members either specialize in one class or become capable of performing all roles. Furthermore, they are expected to contribute to the development of new job classes.
② Composite Classes
Magic Swordsman
This is a job that sounds like the protagonist. It is a composite job of Warrior and Mage. It is a role that uses attack magic or buff magic to enhance their swords, which serve as their primary armament. There is much to learn, and becoming proficient will undoubtedly make them a significant force, but in the early stages, they are prone to becoming a jack-of-all-trades. Their stats grow overall. Currently, Kaido and Himusumi are in this class. This specialization is also available during training, but the training content will then be for two classes.
Job titles are basically indicators of one’s position during combat, what one can do, and how one should move. They are like qualifications. In the professional world, there are few cases where one can focus on a single thing, and at this company, a job title means that it is more advantageous and leads to better evaluations if one becomes capable of doing other things in addition to their primary role.
