Entering a Company From Another World! – Chapter 332

The atmosphere in the room was beyond terrible after the five prostrate individuals left the conference room.

A tense atmosphere, fitting for the onomatopoeia “gishigishi” (creaking/tense sound), permeated the room.

I hadn’t expected a friendly atmosphere from the start, but I had held a faint hope that a more detached, work-oriented atmosphere could be achieved.

While that hope should have been reasonably fulfilled, the preceding event had ruined it.

“Is that all for the report?”

“…”

Amidst this, the report meeting for the newcomer dungeon training was held.

Sitting in the seat of honor in the conference room, Evia listened to each party’s report in turn, checking for any omissions.

My response, along with everyone else’s, was silence.

That silence conveyed not only that there were no further reports, but also a bold statement of dissatisfaction.

I couldn’t tell if the problem was that things hadn’t gone according to the opponent’s plan, or if there was some other reason.

But this much I can say.

We were caught in the middle of it.

Despite that, we were being treated as if we were in the wrong.

Underneath such gazes, I brought Evia into a tense situation where our party and the other parties were in opposition, and superficially conveyed the content of the newcomer training without any apparent issues.

“Our party has nothing to report.”

However, we couldn’t remain silent forever when it came to confirming the content.

To separate my public and private selves, I changed from “ore” to “watashi” and spoke to her to convey that there was nothing more to report.

Perhaps inspired by my action, Kanzaki, Himusumi, and Torimatsu also said their pieces.

“I see.”

For Evia, the content of the report seemed to be within the expected scope, as she moved on without any particular points of concern.

“Thank you for guiding each dungeon. Please submit the detailed content of this training by the end of this week. Starting tomorrow, please return to your regular duties. This meeting is adjourned.”

I briefly glanced at Himusumi, wondering if she would end it like this, but he seemed to have no intention of causing trouble in front of Evia.

We remained silent, showing no special gestures.

The report meeting ended without any further incident with Evia’s declaration of adjournment after judging that there was nothing more.

However, she didn’t leave immediately, lingering for a few seconds, observing something intently before departing through teleportation.

“Leader, we’ll be getting a scolding later, won’t we?”

“…Well, it can’t be helped, I suppose.”

I shrugged at Minami’s teasing words, accepting them.

After all, testers, who should be cooperating, were exuding a tense atmosphere. Even if competition was desired, our company wouldn’t want them hindering each other.

A superior’s reprimand to quell the situation would be a bad move in this case. If we could accept it being suppressed from above, we wouldn’t have reached this point in the first place.

Therefore, these kinds of issues can’t be resolved without venting the pent-up frustrations.

The problem between the individuals involved must be resolved or alleviated.

So, I steeled myself, expecting Evia to question me in detail later and ask for my response.

“Let’s go.”

“Is that alright?”

“They seem to want to talk, but it doesn’t look like it will lead to a discussion. They probably need time to cool off.”

“…”

“Are you against it?”

And if we continued to drag this out here, it would be the same as before.

I tried to leave the scene quickly, but Minami seemed somewhat unconvinced.

Kitamiya seemed to feel the same way.

“You’re just going to leave them be?”

“It’s not ideal.”

My true feelings came out in response to Kitamiya’s question, which seemed to agree with Minami.

“But it’s not the time.”

And then I clearly stated my current thoughts.

Discussion would be necessary, but if it happened now, it would just be an argument.

It would only result in pushing each other’s opinions and creating further rifts.

It would be cold to say that it was a waste, but it wouldn’t be entirely wrong.

“I have other plans later, too.”

“Other plans?”

Rather than engaging in such a wasteful encounter, it would be more mentally relieving to do something constructive.

Right now, I wanted to focus on the other matter rather than exchanging harsh words with Himusumi and the others.

“You’ll find out when we get there. Let’s go, everyone.”

As I left the conference room before being told to wait, I casually cast a glance towards Himusumi, but he wasn’t looking at me.

I felt a sense of unease at being allowed to leave so easily, but there was no need to stir up trouble.

Feeling anticlimactic at being allowed to leave without any resistance, we, now back to our usual group, walked down the hallway.

“Where are we going, Senpai?”

“That’s right, I think you should at least explain.”

“Well, it’s about time.”

As I continued to walk without explanation, Kaido and Minami urged me to explain.

I glanced around to confirm that there were no other Dungeon Testers nearby, and then told Kaido and the others our destination.

“To where those five prostrate individuals were.”

“Huh? Why are we going there?”

“It’s for their aftercare and to warn them about their recent behavior. If they were simply sent away like that, they would likely harbor resentment.”

I continued walking and explaining.

My destination was clear, not because it was decided, but because I knew where I was going.

“I understand the warning, but what do you mean by ‘aftercare’?”

“It means exactly what it sounds like. Warning them is a form of aftercare to encourage reflection and help them learn for the future. The important thing here is not to dismiss their will from the outset.”

“Whoa, is that a jab at me?”

“It’s a metaphor, Minami. Don’t be so sulky.”

“I’m terribly hurt. Therefore, I demand compensation for my labor and emotional distress.”

“Alright, alright, what would you like?”

“Hehehe, what do you think I’ll ask for?”

“Be gentle, please?”

My response to Kitamiya’s genuine question ended up displeasing Minami. I chuckled and tried to smooth things over, but he seemed to take it as teasing, turning his sulky frown into a smile and walking with a rhythm that suggested he might skip.

“Tsk,” I thought, and decided to brace myself for whatever he might demand, thinking that the effort he put in earlier deserved some reward.

As I began walking again, I sharpened my senses, which had softened.

I traced the residual magic.

There are various methods for detecting species, and even within the same species, perceptions differ.

In my case, it’s a sensation akin to touch, perhaps.

It’s easier to understand if you think of it as something felt on the skin. It’s a unique sensation, different from pressure, temperature, or humidity.

If I were to put it into words, it could only be described as magic power.

Speaking from experience, the color of magic power is different for everyone.

I haven’t yet encountered anyone with the same color.

By sensing particularly characteristic magic fluctuations, I can then track them.

Naturally, a veteran mage would be able to conceal their magic, making tracking impossible. This is a technique only possible because the opponent is still a novice and lacks such knowledge.

I couldn’t do this kind of thing in the past, but I’ve become somewhat capable of it now.

The company is filled with magic power, making it difficult to track, but it’s not impossible.

“This is…”

“The training room, right?”

And we arrived at our destination.

The training room, which we also use regularly.

Katsu and Amelia tilted their heads upon learning that this was our destination.

Although it’s a place open to newcomers, it’s currently the least relevant place for them. They had just entered a dungeon today and would most likely want to rest their bodies. They were probably wondering why we were here.

“Probably.”

“Probably? That’s vague.”

“If they’re not here, we’ll just look elsewhere.”

Although I said “probably,” I was about 90% sure they were here.

I sensed some movement behind the door. However, it didn’t feel like they were fighting.

“What on earth are they doing?” I wondered internally, and then entered the training room.

“Fuji Red!”

“Fuji Green!”

“Fuji Yellow!”

“Fuji White!”

“Fuji Black!”

“Together, we are the Fuji Rangers!”

The group who had prostrated themselves earlier were striking a pose in the middle of the training room.

“…”

And we, who were now observing them, how should we react?

“Hey, Minami, say something.”

“No, I’m not familiar with Tokusatsu shows. What about you, Katsu?”

“I don’t know either. Speaking of which, Amelia-san, you like superhero shows, don’t you?”

“Huh? Um, well, haha! I don’t know, so I’ll leave it to Kaido!”

“That’s a rough pass! I don’t know what to say either! Right, Senpai!”

“Don’t pass it to me.”

Is this what they mean by seeing something they shouldn’t have? No, the fact that he was coveting Kaido’s suit probably meant he had that kind of hobby. However, I never imagined it would lead to this result. When they struck their poses with determined faces in their casual clothes, complete with sound effects like “shakiiiin” and explosion effects in the background, I genuinely didn’t know how to comment.

“How was it!?”

“I didn’t expect you to ask for our impressions!”

While I was agonizing over that, the man standing in the center, who looked like a refreshing sportsman and was the leader of the prostrate group, asked for our impressions. Minami, who thought people would normally be embarrassed, was stunned by the unexpected question.

“Well, from our perspective, we thought it was a perfect pose.”

“No, don’t you have any sense of shame?”

“?”

“I don’t think we’ve done anything shameful, have we, everyone?”

The man, tilting his head at Minami’s lackluster reaction, began to interpret it as a sign that there might be room for improvement, a completely misguided interpretation. Kitamiya asked a perfectly reasonable question, but the young man tilted his head and asked his companions.

“That’s right.”

The most muscular man among the five replied immediately.

“Yes.”

Then, a androgynous woman with her eyes closed nodded.

“Um, for us, this is normal, or rather…”

The woman with semi-long hair who answered next, while understanding our reaction, hesitated in her words.

“We’re used to it!!”

Then, the smallest boy with spiky hair declared confidently, and I vaguely understood their peculiar dynamic.

“I must say, we have some very unique people joining the company.”

“I don’t think you’re in a position to say that, considering you always speak like a samurai.”

“I don’t want to hear that from the tsundere Kitamiya.”

“…”

“You want to fight? (gozaru?)”

“If you’re going to fight, do it later.”

I couldn’t deny Minami’s words, but I wanted to move the conversation forward.

“Ah, sorry. We’ll put our thoughts on the poses aside for now. I’m Tanaka, Jiro Tanaka. I’m the leader of the party called Moonlit Perch. I have some business with you, um…”

“I’m Kato Enshi. You can call me by my last name or my first name. I’ve heard a lot about you, Tanaka-san. We also want to work hard to become a team like yours!!”

“Is that so? Work hard, Kato.”

“Yes!”

How should I put this? He’s a hot-blooded guy who seems like he’s living out a youthful dream. His upright posture and clear speech might seem overbearing to some, but I find it pleasant to watch. He’s not a handsome guy like Himusumi, who looks like he stepped out of a shojo manga with hidden depths, but more like a handsome guy from a shonen sports manga. As I casually shook his outstretched right hand and moved to introduce myself to the others,

“I’m Goto! Shigeo Goto! I’m in charge of Fuji Ranger Black!”

“Nice to meet you, Goto. Fuji Ranger?”

“Yes! By the way, I’m Red.”

This time, Goto, the well-built man, introduced himself with an outstretched right hand. And when I tilted my head at the unheard-of term “Fuji Ranger,” Kato introduced himself as Red. Following that pattern…

“I’m Ito Rie. I’m in charge of Fuji Ranger Yellow. Oh, and my favorite food is curry.”

“I’m Sato Kana. As you might guess from my name, I’m in charge of Fuji Ranger White.”

Ito, with his androgynous appearance, was Yellow, and Sato, the seemingly sensible one, was White.

“Yes, yes, yes! Last is me! I’m Endo Ken! Fuji Ranger Green!!”

Finally, the boy with spiky hair was Green. This meant…

“You guys like Super Sentai series?”

“Yes, we love them so much we consider it our mission! We joined this company to become Super Sentai heroes!!”

Another eccentric group has joined the company, I thought.
