This is the last update of the year!!
Thank you to everyone who has been reading and supporting this work this year!
We will continue to work hard towards the completion next year, so please continue to read on.
Also, please check out our other work, which is currently being serialized in parallel: “Pandora Pandemic Panic: The Box of Pandora Was Opened Again, But We’re Fighting Back with All Sorts of Things at Our Secret Base!!”
“Huh?”
“Yo! You’re late, son.”
Why is he here?
That was my first question.
Today was the day we were liberated from the continuous onslaught of apointements and the construction materials were brought to the island to begin work.
I brought heavy machinery, giants, and materials to Tufaris, and the one who greeted me was my mother, who had somehow landed on the island.
“My, my, you’ve become quite the man to keep your mother waiting for two weeks.”
As I disembarked from the battleship and was about to take charge of the site, I landed and my mother, who had appeared from a hole dug on the island, was as unpredictable as ever with her drive.
“Wait a minute, two weeks?”
“To be exact, today is the fifteenth day, but I’ll give you one day free.”
And she stood there, declaring something I didn’t understand what she would offer for free.
“Haa, haa, okay, I’ve calmed down. Is my father in that hole? I’ll head over after I give instructions for the construction, so please wait in the waiting room on the battleship.”
I had a feeling she would say all sorts of nonsensical things later, so I gave up and decided to finish my work first.
“What’s this? I thought you’d be more surprised, but you’re taking it so easily.”
“Think about your daily behavior.”
“Don’t you think stimulating parents are good?”
“There are limits, you know, limits.”
While retorting to my mother, who winked, I grabbed a nearby bewildered worker and asked him to help my father, who was desperately trying to get luggage out of the hole.
And as a guide.
“Keiri.”
“Yes! Yes!”
I decided to assign Keiri, who was stiff with tension upon seeing my mother.
Well, I had expected to greet her eventually, but I never thought it would happen at this timing.
Her tension was such that her right leg and right hand seemed to move at the same time.
“Would you be so kind as to guide my mother and father to the room? The captain’s room is fine.”
“Understood!”
I gave a wry smile at her demeanor, and though I felt bad about asking her to deal with my exceptionally wild mother, she responded with a salute.
“Hmm.”
Then, she looked at the sense of distance between me and Keiri.
“Did you get another one?”
She easily saw through my relationship with Keiri.
“Let me explain later.”
I didn’t deny it.
I had no intention of hiding it.
But if they came ignoring my schedule, I would just push through my own conveniences.
Watching my father grovel to the giant workers to pull out the luggage, I went out of the battleship with another companion, or rather, another creature.
“Yeah, yeah, you’ll at least have tea, right?”
“If you ask her, you can have tea and sweets too.”
Waving my hand behind my back, I left the care of my mother to Keiri.
“Dad, make sure you keep Mom on a tight leash.”
“Hahaha, I’ll do my best.”
As we passed each other, I asked my father to keep my mother from going wild.
And in exchange for my father and mother, I, newly landed on the island,
“How is it, Feri? This is our stronghold.”
“Woof!”
I showed my partner the island, which was still empty.
Even seeing the island, which was truly just rocks, Feri ran out with excitement instead of disappointment.
“Hey, hey, you don’t have to rush, the island isn’t going anywhere.”
For demons, who normally require magic energy, landing on this island would at best cause symptoms like anemia, and at worst, lead to unconsciousness and death.
However, currently, even the Giants, Dark Elves, Demons, and Ogres are working diligently.
And the reason for that is Feri.
They say that divine beasts are not just for show and are the driving force behind generating the magic power needed to maintain a dungeon.
Although she is still small, her body is already extending her magic power throughout the island, dispersing the magic energy that demons can operate with.
Furthermore, this is even without being a Dungeon Core and not showing her true abilities.
Once she becomes a Dungeon Core, the possibilities will be even more amazing, and her power is unfathomable.
And she is still a young beast, with room for growth, which is terrifying.
Since the island is elevated, they cannot see our situation from the ships at sea, so I can see them flying helicopters to monitor our work.
To an outsider, it looks like a toy poodle is released on the island, but without Feri’s actions, the workers would be unable to do anything.
The goblins are operating golem-type heavy machinery powered by magic stones to begin maintaining the Tufaris launch site.
It would be fastest to do it with magic, but the concentration isn’t high enough yet, so for now, it’s with heavy machinery.
Even at the current concentration, magic isn’t entirely unusable, but due to the insufficient concentration and the fact that magic energy can only be replenished if Feri is on this island, it is desirable to proceed with work using golems powered by magic stones.
I expect the concentration to be high enough to use magic in the afternoon, and from then on, the construction will proceed with magic, taking concentration into account.
“Woof woof!”
“Are you that happy?”
“Woof!”
Since that day, we’ve been playing at the mansion and our bond has grown.
She spends the most time with Sachiera and Yukiera, but she doesn’t reject interactions with the residents of the mansion; in fact, she actively interacts with them.
She often spends time with Suella and Himik, and sometimes with Memoria and Evia.
She even accompanies me, the owner, and sometimes Sehas.
Despite being my partner, she gets very excited when I tell her that she’s going to her own territory, the island.
The island’s size, excluding its height, was created mostly as planned.
The blueprints for town building and facility construction are ready, so the first step is to create the foundation. Feri is here to secure magic energy for the workers.
However, I don’t expect Feri to do anything specific.
Her role is to generate magic energy. I came with her in the capacity of her bodyguard and guardian.
So, as long as she doesn’t leave the island, Feri is free to run around as she pleases.
If anyone tries to kidnap Feri, I have the power to repel them without mercy.
I will be spending a lot of time on this island from now on.
Therefore, it is necessary to let Feri’s magic energy soak into this island as much as possible and prepare the groundwork for creating the dungeon.
Construction takes place from morning to night on weekdays, and on holidays, it depends on the construction schedule, but it is generally a day off.
My work is to be done within Tufaris, so there is no problem.
The more Feri’s magic energy permeates this island, the easier it will be to operate here.
The plan is that it will take about a month to completely establish the groundwork.
During that month, whether we can build facilities that can retain magic energy on this island will determine the progress of future construction.
That’s why everyone working here is so serious about it.
“Woof!”
“Ah, about the helicopter. Since people are on board, don’t attack it recklessly and shoot it down.”
Feri, who is a source of solace for all the hardworking workers, seemed interested in the flying helicopter and started jumping repeatedly, warming up her body.
To an outsider, she looks like a toy poodle excited by a helicopter in the sky.
If she really put her mind to it, she could easily close the distance to a visible range by running through the air.
It shouldn’t be possible in a single jump, right? It shouldn’t be.
But beings and creatures from that world have physical abilities that defy the laws of physics.
Therefore, when measured by our common sense, they can do incredible things.
I patted Feri’s back and told her to calm down, and she looked a little displeased.
“The magic energy concentration is also increasing smoothly.”
Meanwhile, Feri continues to release magic energy, and I can feel my body becoming lighter.
I can feel the increase in magic energy concentration by being so close to Feri.
“Woof!”
“Hm? Are you going for a walk?”
“Woof!”
I can vaguely understand what she wants to say from her intonation.
I sense Feri’s will to want to run at full speed if she can’t jump.
“Don’t fall off the island in your haste!”
“Woof!”
This island is quite large, but I wonder if it’s large enough to satisfy Feri.
With my permission, Feri, energized, sprinted from in front of me and became a blur, quickly disappearing to a point where she looked like a tiny speck.
I don’t need to chase her; I can sense her magic, and letting her run around will further infuse the island with her magic, so I won’t stop her.
Once Feri goes for her walk, I find myself with nothing to do.
The progress of the construction is being supervised by the site manager, so if I were to interfere, it would only cause unnecessary trouble.
My role is strictly that of a guardian who brought Feri to this island, and I can sense Feri’s location anywhere on this island.
“I guess I’ll head back to the ship.”
Originally, Keiri was supposed to be by my side, discussing future plans while observing the progress of the site, but I hadn’t expected my mother to show up on this island, so the plan had to be changed suddenly.
I can’t imagine what Keiri is going through right now, but I returned to the ship, hoping that a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law war, like that of cats and dogs, hadn’t erupted, and went back to the captain’s room where my mother and father were likely waiting.
“Mother-in-law, are you pregnant!?”
Huh?
I think I heard something unbelievable.
“Yes, I got carried away and that’s why.”
“Oh my, how embarrassing.”
“Not at all, it’s proof that you’re still young!”
“What about you? Judging by the distance between you two, you must have done it, right?”
I stopped dead in my tracks and my mind froze upon hearing something so incredible the moment I entered the room.
I prided myself on not being easily surprised, but who could have imagined having a younger brother or sister at the age of thirty?
If she were a long-lived Dark Elf, thirty years would be negligible, but my mother is supposed to be a normal human.
The words “elderly childbirth” flashed through my mind.
“Well, yes, Suella gave birth, and I will eventually too.”
“Oh, oh, it’s good to have more grandchildren. Well, it’ll be an interesting story to have grandchildren the same age as the child in my belly!!”
At any rate, I was relieved that there was no indication of a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law war, took a deep breath, and calmed myself.
“You’re late.”
I entered the room as if nothing had happened.
“You’re late, Jiro. What were you frozen at the entrance for?”
“Welcome back.”
“Hey, Jiro.”
My mother, sensitive to presence, noticed I was frozen at the entrance as if it were natural.
Keiri also seemed to have noticed.
My father, unable to join the conversation between the two women, faded his presence and was drinking tea alone.
“If you heard that you had a younger brother or sister almost thirty years younger the moment you entered the room, you’d be surprised, wouldn’t you?”
“What a pathetic display. I wasn’t even surprised when I gained a new wife, and you didn’t even report that you gained a new grandchild. What’s your intention?”
Unable to work in such a peculiar atmosphere, I reorganized my schedule in my head and sat down next to Keiri.
