Everyone, having learned the identity of the attackers, decided to be guided to the village as an apology.
Nina was not enthusiastic about going to the Arachne village. She probably couldn’t trust the ones who had attacked them.
But with little food and their fatigue, it was the best course of action.
“Th-this way.”
As we were about to follow the Arachne woman, Philiana stopped behind us. It seemed she had injured her ankle in the recent battle.
“I am so sorry, I feel like I’ve only been holding everyone back.”
“No, Philiana protected me and Piyo-chan.”
With Piyo and Pauline watching with concern, Sharin and I decided to support Philiana as we proceeded.
Even though she was a woman, her lower body was that of a large horse, so supporting her body was difficult even for two people.
“Hey, should Piyo help too? Should I carry luggage?”
“No, it’s fine. Besides, Piyo was the one who found the culprit earlier.”
Even so, she still looked uneasy.
After a while, we emerged from the dim forest into a bright place where sunlight filtered in moderately and a gentle breeze was pleasant.
Several treehouse-like buildings were built around thick, tall trees, with a complex network of spiderweb-like suspension bridges connecting them.
The Arachne were skillfully moving across the suspension bridges and between the huts at varying heights.
“P-people with smaller bodies are better at climbing trees. Because their weight is light. Come this way.”
We were led to a hut located a little outside the village.
“Th-this is my, work, or rather, hobby, room.”
Inside the hut, books, strange medicine bottles we had never seen before, and magic tools were placed everywhere. We were led to a room in the attic on the second floor. It was quite dusty, but it seemed sufficient for resting.
Sharin and I laid Philiana down on an old sofa and cooled her injured leg.
