A letter discovered, alleging it came from Another World, but no definitive evidence could be obtained.
Ultimately, no information could be extracted from the mastermind.
“Well, it can’t be helped, if nothing more is forthcoming, we’ll just have to pull back for the time being. For the time being, we’ve resolved the Satyr issue, so let’s consider it a success.”
“Hmm, you’re right. We can’t just go around destroying things indiscriminately.”
Everyone agreed with Philiana and Nina’s opinions. However, Sharin did not seem convinced.
“But someone is distributing these Magical Tools, right? Even if we solve these marginal incidents, won’t victims appear again eventually? I’m going to investigate again.”
Saying so, she left the Hut they were staying in alone. The sun was already setting outside, and it would be pitch black by the time she returned. I took a Lantern and followed Sharin.
“What, Arisugawa, you’re coming too?”
“I also can’t quite accept this. I want to investigate more about the messenger from Another World.”
After proceeding through the forest for a while, the two of us arrived at the House they had finished investigating.
The inside was in disarray from our haphazard search. There might be a Secret Door somewhere, or perhaps someone had already destroyed the evidence.
Sharin entered the Room where Hell’s Gate had opened. There, the Magic Stone, which had melted and solidified as it was then, and a broken Crystal Ball were placed. She gently reached out to the broken Crystal.
“If it ends here… you won’t be able to go home…”
Sharin murmured in a fading voice.
“Don’t worry about me. I’ll find some other way.”
“But how? We can’t ask the Dark Orcs for cooperation. If only we knew where this came from, there would be hope.”
I suddenly reached out to the pedestal on which the Crystal Ball had been placed. It was made of iron, not wood, and was Heavily weighted. On the back, an unknown Crest was engraved.
“Perhaps this is the producer. See, people engrave their names on pots they make well, right?”
Sharin’s eyes widened in surprise.
“This is it! If we can identify this Crest, we can figure out where it came from!”
We hurriedly began our journey back. Along the way, Sharin, proceeding rapidly through the dark forest, almost left me behind.
