With the assistance of companions, we succeeded in freeing some of the prisoners.
With Karubene’s help, we managed to rescue everyone from the hut. It seems the girl was able to reunite with her mother safely. However, her complexion is still not good.
“My father isn’t here. We were separated when we were captured.”
For the time being, I urged the mother and daughter to evacuate together. Just then, Philiana, Nina, and Sharin rushed over.
“We’ve helped the injured, but this is endless.”
“It seems we have no choice but to strike at the direct cause.”
Nina’s gaze was fixed on an exceptionally large Hunter Harpy standing there. It had the appearance of a boss. That must be Keiga.
It seemed the soldiers were starting to notice us freeing the prisoners, as one of them reported something with a trembling voice. Keiga then flew into a rage, grabbed the soldier, and violently threw him away.
Leaving his subordinate where he fell, Keiga strode confidently towards the center of the village.
“Hey Dalco, are you there? Don’t hide, come out! Or are you afraid of the sun and can’t come out?”
He was shouting loudly at someone in the center of the village.
As if responding to the call, a large Dark Harpy man emerged from the shade of a building. Judging by his appearance, he was likely the village chief.
“So you finally came out. I thought you’d escaped alone.”
“I don’t know what you’re thinking, but leave here immediately.”
The Dark Harpy chief issued a warning in a low voice. However, Keiga paid him no mind, a smug smile on his face.
“Did you really think your plan wasn’t discovered? That woman you sent? After willingly embracing me, she died with a stupid look on her face. What’s wrong, aren’t you going to capture your enemy?”
Finally angered by this, Dalco, wearing a black hood, stepped out into the light. His companions tried to stop him.
Dalco drew his sword and lunged at Keiga.
“Hahaha, that’s more like it!”
Keiga let out a laugh and, with the blades on his wings ready, countered.
The shrill sound of metal clashing against metal echoed throughout the village. Everyone watched the confrontation between their leaders with bated breath. Keiga blocked Dalco’s attack with both wings.
“What? Is that all? I should have attacked sooner.”
“Shut that filthy mouth of yours, you brat.”
Crimson eyes, burning with anger, flashed from beneath the hood. His iron armor rattled audibly.
“Hah, keep telling yourself that.”
Keiga grinned and kicked Dalco in the stomach. The impact sent Dalco flying backward, but surprisingly, he grabbed onto Keiga and slashed him horizontally with his iron claws.
Dalco’s Dark Harpy companions rushed to his side. The wound on his abdomen was as if gouged by a knife, and blood seeped from it.
Seeing his opponent kneeling on the ground, Keiga smirked.
“Did you see that, you crows? I am the king of birds!”
