Peace returned to the oasis, and I found many creatures there.
That night, I was finally able to sleep soundly for the first time in a while. I was sleeping under the starry sky without a bed or air conditioning, but I was content just to have safe water. The next morning, I first washed my face with the oasis water and had a leisurely breakfast. Looking around, I saw many makeshift tents belonging to the Centaurs lined up.
This was truly a rare holiday since coming to this world. Speaking of holidays… it meant sleeping in. I lay down on my sleeping bag again. Though there were only a few trees growing in the oasis, the shade was cool, likely because of the nearby water. Occasionally, I could hear the happy voices of children from a distance. That’s right, I should clean my dagger later. I need to wash it properly. With such thoughts in mind, I closed my eyes.
When I opened my eyes, the outside was illuminated by the red setting sun. I had slept quite a bit. But thanks to that, my body felt much better. Since my journey would continue from here, I had to take breaks whenever I could.
As soon as I got up, I washed my dagger with the oasis water. The calm water surface perfectly reflected the sunset, making it seem as if the sky had spread out right before my eyes. The Centaurs were also spending their time leisurely. I didn’t see any Hunters, but she must have gone hunting for her companions.
By the time we had dinner, the sun had completely hidden itself, and a chilly night had arrived. I disliked the cold, but the starry sky I could see from here was truly beautiful. It was incomparable to any planetarium.
Cor seemed to be getting along well with his new friend, as they were looking at a book together. Upon closer inspection, it was a book about constellations. But with so many stars, it would be quite a task trying to find them all. Speaking of stars, I wondered if they were the same as in my original world.
At this point, a certain question surfaced. If the positions of the stars were the same, then the only difference would be the Earth I was on. One of the theories about the creation of the world is called the Parallel World. It’s the idea that multiple similar worlds exist.
According to the person who conceived this idea, there are many dimensions, and I exist in multiple places with different environments. I don’t know if there’s another me in this world, but perhaps it’s something similar.
The biggest difference between my world and this world is the existence of magic. In fact, Elana told me I had no aptitude for magic at all. Perhaps this world is on a different timeline, one where an invisible, mysterious energy called magic exists. Or is this all a long dream I’m having, or is my original world the dream?
Magic alone doesn’t fully explain the existence of races like Centaurs and Harpies, but this is the extent of what I can currently consider.
Now that I think about it, the North Star is said to be stationary, but unfortunately, my knowledge of stars is so limited that it would be difficult to find it among this multitude of lights.
