Elana Challenges the Boss of Robis Omen
The companions of Robis Omen cheered and were excited about this battle. Everyone voiced their encouragement to their boss.
“First, let me introduce myself. My name is Loop, and the women also call me Alpha.”
“Oh, really. That’s quite a name. In that case, may I go next?”
Elana casually dismissed him as he proudly introduced himself. I quietly spoke to Karubene next to me.
“Elana will win this easily.”
“I’m betting on Catwoman. How about you, Brother?”
“Hey, that’s cheating!”
Unlike us, who were optimistic, Piyo had a downcast expression.
“What’s wrong? Something bothering you?”
“Uh, um, Elana is strong, but… I just have a bad premonition.”
It was unusual for Piyo to say something like that. She knew Elana’s abilities very well. Perhaps this was going to be a tough fight. In front of us, Elana lowered her body, ready to initiate the battle.
Then, she began to ensnare herself in a ring of flames. The fire spun rapidly, becoming a sharp blade, just like a circular saw. She likely did this knowing that the enemy would attempt a close-quarters attack. She struck first. This would prevent anyone from easily getting close.
“Flame magic, huh? I’m impressed.”
Before Loop could utter another word, Elana struck. The fiery orb, drawn in an arc, erupted into a pillar of fire upon impact. Seeing this, the Robis Omen members recoiled in surprise at the sound and heat. However, Loop managed to dodge Elana’s successive attacks. He weaved through the gaps between the flames and approached Elana.
The weakness of her attacks was the time they took. While powerful, there was a slight time lag before impact. During that moment, she could be escaped from. Moreover, the trajectory was easy to read.
Loop dashed forward with incredible speed and leaped into the air. He intended to avoid the ring of fire she wore and attack from above. The leader of the squad was right; the boss was strong. However, Elana wouldn’t fall for such an attack. She quickly stepped back and evaded.
“Hoh, you seem to be quite capable. This will be fun for the first time in a while.”
Saying that, he advanced toward her again. Just when she thought he was coming straight at her, he circled around with blinding speed and dived under the ring of fire. He then thrust his front paw into Elana’s side and flipped her over. Cheers erupted from the surroundings at this. I even held my breath for a moment.
“Hahaha, are you surrendering?”
“Who would surrender!”
Elana writhed her body, slipping out of his grasp like a snake, and regained her stance.
“That’s more like it.”
Loop muttered, then moved toward Elana and delivered a playful jab with his front paw. Even though she knew he wasn’t serious, she was quickly pushed into a defensive position. In close quarters, she couldn’t use her usual techniques. The ring of fire had also disappeared.
“What’s wrong? Is that magic trick over already?”
While he was in a relaxed state, Elana’s breath grew ragged. Perhaps Piyo’s premonition had come true.
