In the forest, now dark as the sun had completely set, a fierce flame glowed dully. Then, a roar that seemed to split the ground. A fist was driven into the ground where Gadou had been standing. The ground shook, and fragments of broken stone rained down.
There was no time to cover my face with my hands. After the hot wind swept away the smoke rising from her wings, the enemy was nowhere to be seen. Looking up at the sky, I saw Gadou soaring, overlapping with the moon. Then, Piyo, who had been waiting, took off from the shadows of the trees behind. Curving upwards from below, Piyo crept up from the enemy’s feet.
Gadou was blown even higher into the sky by the bombardment from below.
