The group defeats the demons that attacked them one by one.
Nobody seems to want to fight the perverted demons.
“Tsk, come at me, you bastards.”
The demon with messy hair crawled on the ground like an insect and headed towards Veronica. He stretched his long arms to grab her. In response, Veronica unleashed a purple flame and pulled away.
However, without being deterred by the impact, he stretched his legs like a frog and grabbed Veronica’s ankle. Then he slammed her to the ground. Seeing this, her companions attacked all at once.
The demon began to escape while holding Veronica.
“He’s trying to go somewhere else!”
He crawled away at a speed that Nina couldn’t match and started climbing a nearby wall. If this continued, Veronica would be taken away.
“Elena, shoot him down.”
“I know.”
Elena’s fireball scraped the rock face. However, it was difficult to hit the demon itself.
“What are you doing?!”
“What can I do? If I’m not careful, I might hit Veronica.”
The demon, clinging to the wall, looked down at everyone who could only watch and laughed. Veronica, suspended upside down, couldn’t fight back. Then, someone emerged from behind her black wings.
“Pauline, what is that child doing?!”
Pauline was climbing Veronica, who was hanging upside down, from somewhere. The demon hadn’t noticed yet. He slowly brought the prey he held close to his face, intending to savor it.
An ugly face peered through the gaps in his unkempt hair. White eyes like dead fish, warm, stale breath. Even from a distance, it gave goosebumps.
He stretched his long tongue to lick Veronica’s legs. At that moment, Pauline, who had been holding on, stabbed him with the stinger at the tip of her tail.
“GAAAAAAAAAAAH!!”
The demon let out a grinding scream and covered his eyes. At the same time, he let go of Veronica. She immediately rotated in mid-air and regained her posture. She then hit him with purple flames again.
The demon, with tears of blood streaming from one eye, lunged at Veronica. She easily dodged it. The demon, engulfed in flames, fell to the ground and trembled.
“It hurts, it hurts! How insolent for prey… I’ll kill you, kill you.”
He wouldn’t die from attacks like these. He got up, thinking about how he’d been treated. Normally, he would start pursuing Veronica from here. But unfortunately, other companions were waiting below.
Philiana silently thrust her sword from above. It dug into his back with an unpleasant crunching sound.
“AAAAAAA, WHAAAAAT IS THIIIIIS?”
He must be getting hit by surprise attacks from somewhere without being able to confirm the enemy’s appearance. He flailed his twisted legs, trying to escape. Forcibly twisting his body, he climbed the wall again with the sword still stuck in his back.
Having retreated to a safe position, he licked his stabbed eye with his tongue. Then he turned and looked at the figures of those who had attacked him.
“Haaa…”
He seemed to be thinking about what to do while licking his blood-stained hand. Elena mercilessly targeted him. The demon quickly moved its limbs and escaped. Elena’s fireballs didn’t fly straight like fireworks. While powerful, they followed a slight arc.
This made it difficult to hit a constantly moving opponent. One hit him just now, but it wasn’t a direct hit, only grazing his shoulder.
Or so I thought, but suddenly, the demon’s body flew away. It was as if explosives had been planted. Bloody remains rained down from above. And a moment later, Philiana’s sword fell. It made a dry clattering sound.
The demon, with a large gash in its back, peeled off the wall and fell, writhing in agony on the ground. Its appearance reminded me of that black insect, making me feel sick.
“Aaaah… Wh-what…”
Even with such a serious wound, he was trying to stand up, just like that insect. Everyone was contemplating who would deliver the finishing blow.
Finally, Elena unleashed two or three flames, and it was over. Yet, he was still writhing, perhaps the most tenacious enemy they had ever faced.
Meanwhile, Hyde was in the process of swallowing one demon into his item box. The red-faced demon desperately reached out towards the edge of the abyss, resisting.
“No, help me! Arikeeno, Calcabrina! Hiiigghh.”
Chains like tentacles stretched out from inside and wrapped around his pleading arms. He was then swallowed up. He had said that living creatures died once inside, but what about demons? The door closed with a snap, and he vanished without a trace.
Two demons remained: Arikeeno and Calcabrina. Looking back, all the companions they had brought were defeated. Realizing the situation was dire, they exchanged glances and glared at each other.
