Section 26: The Weapon Forging World Will Be Shaken!
By Gu Zhenren, 2013-02-09
Chu Yun finally arrived, fashionably late.
Master Wei Luhui took a few deep breaths to compose himself and said sternly, “Youngster, if you didn’t show up any later, I would have thought you were afraid of battle.”
Chu Yun glanced at him, nodded, and said, “Sorry, I was too tired yesterday and just woke up. Let’s begin.”
“Uh, just waking up?!” Master Wei Luhui’s eyes widened, and he glared at Chu Yun with eyes as fierce as a predator.
He had expected Chu Yun to be late due to some urgent matter and was waiting for an apology. However, he never anticipated receiving such a response.
“Just waking up’ is such a grand and casual way of putting it,” even the Academy staff member organizing this spar was inwardly shocked. It seemed this Wushuang contestant didn’t recognize Master Wei Luhui.
“Let’s start quickly! Save time,” Chu Yun urged, as he was indeed in a hurry.
Master Wei Luhui’s eyelids twitched. How dare he talk about saving time! Who was it that made this Master wait for half an hour for nothing?!
If it weren’t for the sake of maintaining his composure and dignity, Master Wei Luhui would have already wanted to discipline Chu Yun.
“This is Master Wei Luhui, a towering figure in our Weapon Forging world.”
The Academy staff member whispered a reminder to Chu Yun.
Master Wei Luhui overheard this and unconsciously puffed out his chest, raising his head.
“Oh, is that so. Hello, hello. Can we begin?” Chu Yun re-examined him, his tone anxious. “Start quickly, I’m in a hurry.”
“You!” The Academy staff member stared at Chu Yun in disbelief, thinking, *Is this guy an idiot? Knowing it’s Master Wei Luhui, why is he so casual?*
“Very good, very good,” veins bulged on Master Wei Luhui’s forehead as he took several deep breaths. “Young man, what school are you from? Who is your master? I might even know your master.”
He really wanted to discipline the young man before him, but his status prevented him. So, he decided to inquire about Chu Yun’s lineage and seek out his master later to settle the score.
“Huh?” Chu Yun looked at Master Wei Luhui strangely, wondering what was up with this old man who wanted to get friendly with him. But he had no master, and he didn’t even know what the schools of thought were in the Weapon Forging world.
“Weapon forging, I learned it by myself. As for which school…” Chu Yun hesitated, then secretly asked Feiyang Fairy.
Among the Blissful Immortal Consorts, there were five or six Weapon Forging Masters. Feiyang Fairy was the cream of the crop.
It was her turn to appear today and help Chu Yun cheat.
Feiyang Fairy said, “My school is the Feiyang school, specializing in using fire Dao methods for weapon forging. The Demon Soldiers forged by this school are different from other schools… they are lighter, and their surfaces often shimmer with a layer of flowing radiance.”
“My school is the Feiyang school,” Chu Yun said, cupping his hands towards Master Wei Luhui.
“The Feiyang school?” Master Wei Luhui and the Academy staff members present looked surprised.
The Academy staff member asked doubtfully, “Wasn’t the Feiyang Sect annihilated by the Tang Jin Kingdom’s Country Lord’s army back then? Did the Feiyang school vanish into the river of history? How come your Weapon Forging heritage, Wushuang contestant, is from the Feiyang school?”
“There’s such a thing?” Chu Yun was surprised but, with things already at this point, he had no choice but to push forward. “I discovered this on my own. It’s very similar to the effects of the Feiyang school’s methods.”
Master Wei Luhui immediately let out a light chuckle and said in a instructive tone, “Little fellow, you have a big mouth. The effects of the Feiyang school’s weapon forging are not just superficial; the key is its significant amplification effect on fire-element Demon Soldiers. After the Feiyang school disappeared, many Weapon Forging Masters, including myself, invested a lot of time researching it, trying to replicate the Feiyang school’s forging techniques, but to no avail. Don’t speak such nonsense in the future.”
“Nonsense?” Chu Yun glanced at Master Wei Luhui, smiled, and shook his head. Then, he turned back to the Academy staff member and urged again, “Start quickly.”
Master Wei Luhui’s beard bristled with anger. What kind of expression was that?!
It was clear this brat looked down on him and didn’t even bother arguing.
He really wanted to teach Chu Yun a lesson, but out of consideration for his status, he didn’t want to be accused of bullying a junior. So, he settled for the next best thing: teaching Chu Yun’s master a lesson.
But Chu Yun was self-taught!
“What an oddball, truly an oddball.”
The Academy staff member looked at Chu Yun, sighing inwardly. He could clearly feel Master Wei Luhui’s suppressed anger; to have angered Master Wei Luhui like this as a junior was truly extraordinary!
“Then let’s begin. The task for this round of weapon forging is to use the same materials to forge a Fire Hammer Minor Demon Soldier. Materials can be selected, but not arbitrarily added. Success within half a day will be followed by review; the party with superior quality wins points. The loser will receive no points and enter the loser’s bracket.”
Upon hearing this, Master Wei Luhui laughed heartily, “I won’t take advantage of you, youngster. If you can forge this Fire Hammer Minor Demon Soldier using your so-called Feiyang school methods to my satisfaction, I will automatically concede.”
Chu Yun’s heart leaped with joy. *Isn’t this old man asking for trouble?* Just as he was about to agree, he changed his mind and said calmly, “No need. You’re old and it’s not easy. Let’s rely on our own skills.”
This statement immediately choked Master Wei Luhui, leaving him speechless. The Academy staff members beside him also widened their eyes, unable to believe that a junior like Chu Yun dared to speak to Master Wei Luhui with such arrogance.
They didn’t know that Chu Yun was not representing himself at this moment, but Feiyang Fairy behind him. Feiyang Fairy was also a Weapon Forging Master,Wei Luhui’s equal. Why should she let Wei Luhui concede?
If Chu Yun had agreed to Wei Luhui, it would have been an insult to Feiyang Fairy’s dignity.
“Good, good, good. Truly, the younger generation surpasses the old. I will go all out this time and show you the true art of weapon forging!” Master Wei Luhui flicked his sleeves and disappeared into the secret chamber.
“Chu Yun, thank you,” Feiyang Fairy’s voice echoed in Chu Yun’s mind. The fairy knew Chu Yun was always low-key, and he did this to take her feelings into consideration. She was deeply moved by his thoughtfulness.
“Now it’s up to you, Fairy!” Chu Yun chuckled and replied in his mind.
“Absolutely no problem! Our Feiyang school excels at forging fire-element Demon Soldiers. This old man Wei Luhui is bound to lose!” Feiyang Fairy’s fighting spirit blazed.
Half an hour later, Master Wei Luhui was the first to push open the door, holding a fire hammer.
“As expected of Master Wei Luhui’s personal effort. You’ve already finished so quickly,” the Academy staff member exclaimed in surprise.
“It’s nothing. It’s just a Demon Soldier, quite simple,” Master Wei Luhui nodded slowly, a fleeting glint of pride in his eyes. He had poured all his effort into this forging, precisely to teach Chu Yun a lesson and vent his suppressed emotions.
“However, Master, you will have to wait a little longer. After all, this challenge only has a time limit; the crucial part is the quality of the Demon Soldier,” the Academy staff member said with a smile.
“It doesn’t matter, we can wait for this youngster. Should we elders really bother with such juniors?” Master Wei Luhui thought smugly, a smile playing on his lips, exuding an air of great magnanimity.
However, just as Master Wei Luhui finished speaking, Chu Yun pushed open the secret chamber door and walked out.
“So quickly, could he also be a Master?!” The Academy staff member’s eyes widened, showing even greater astonishment.
“Hehehe, so that’s how it is,” Master Wei Luhui chuckled lightly, narrowing his eyes and condescendingly saying to Chu Yun, “The path of weapon forging requires patience. Haste makes waste. You are too focused on speed. Don’t worry if you fail, just remember this lesson.”
“Who said I failed?” Chu Yun glanced at the old man, reached into his Immortal Pouch, and took out the result personally forged by Feiyang Fairy.
“He actually forged it!” The Academy staff member’s mouth gaped open, and he shouted in surprise.
“Thi-this!” Master Wei Luhui was even more stunned. His eyes bulged, almost popping out of their sockets. He looked at the Fire Hammer Minor Demon Soldier in Chu Yun’s hand, his face filled with shock, his whole body trembling.
*Did I see wrong?*
*I didn’t see wrong!*
*Such flowing radiance, such aura, it’s truly the Feiyang school’s weapon forging technique!*
He had studied this school’s forging technique for a long time. With his profound experience, he recognized it at a glance.
The Academy staff member withdrew his gaze from Chu Yun, suppressed his shock, and took the Demon Soldiers from both men, about to compare them.
“No need to compare. I concede. The Feiyang school’s weapon forging technique is extremely skilled at forging fire-element Demon Soldiers, and I am far inferior. I never imagined, I never imagined…” At this moment, Master Wei Luhui sighed to the heavens with profound emotion.
“You actually managed to restore it. I am truly old. As they say, the waves behind lash on the waves before, each generation stronger than the last. Youngster (Zi), what is your name? I am willing to pay any price to learn the Feiyang weapon forging techniques from you.” Master Wei Luhui completely changed his attitude. He was not inherently a bad person, but merely a weapon forging fanatic. The result of the competition had made him face reality.
Although he was advanced in age and nearing his limits, none of this hindered his passionate pursuit of weapon forging techniques in the world.
He liked to put on airs, lecturing juniors as an elder. But once he realized Chu Yun was also a Weapon Forging Master, he immediately shed his pretenses and was ready to engage as equals.
In his view, the capable are the teachers, regardless of age.
“Huh? Where did he go?” However, when Master Wei Luhui lowered his head from his posture of sighing to the heavens, he found that Chu Yun had already vanished.
“Where is he?!” Master Wei Luhui anxiously grabbed the Academy staff member beside him.
“He… he left. After learning the outcome, he turned and ran. He looked in such a hurry,” the Academy staff member stammered, startled by Master Wei Luhui’s reaction.
“My Feiyang weapon forging techniques!” Master Wei Luhui stomped his foot in distress and quickly chased after him outside the arena.
The Academy staff member was left standing there, dumbfounded.
He was still trying to process what had just happened.
Master Wei Luhui was defeated by a young man?
A self-taught young man?! A young man who had mastered the lost Feiyang school’s weapon forging techniques!
What would happen if this news spread?
The Weapon Forging world would be shaken!
