Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
Chapter 150: Mysterious Person
“A miracle! This is a miracle!”
Before Xi Wei could speak, the old blacksmith beside him excitedly exclaimed. He picked up the Black Demon Steel from the forging table, his eyes gleaming, and muttered with a trembling voice:
“Such a perfect quality… completely evenly fused! How did you do it?”
The old blacksmith looked up, searching for Nina’s figure, only to find that she had already hidden behind the Lord.
“Uh…”
“Sorry, Lord… it’s just too shocking.” The old blacksmith reluctantly placed the Black Demon Steel back on the forging table and babbled:
“This is a perfect piece of Black Demon Steel. Its color, its hardness… I think even the top dwarf craftsmen couldn’t forge such perfect Black Demon Steel.”
Xi Wei picked up the Black Demon Steel from the forging table, Noncommittal, he simply threw two gold coins to the old blacksmith.
“This is the money for the Meteorite Iron and Elemental Obsidian, please take it.”
He didn’t understand forging well and couldn’t discern the quality of the Black Demon Steel, but since the old blacksmith said so, it proved that Nina’s skill was indeed very powerful.
After bidding farewell to the old blacksmith, Xi Wei returned to Winter Fort and asked Nina about what had just happened:
“Nina, how much energy does it consume for you to synthesize a piece of Black Demon Steel like that?”
“I can synthesize it about a dozen times a day…”
Nina said with some confusion.
She had calculated too many things today, and her mind was a bit hazy.
Xi Wei pondered at this.
A dozen times was pretty good, and Nina would continue to grow, so her abilities would improve in the future.
Next, Xi Wei tested Nina’s Stone Skin Technique and Puppet Technique. The former’s strength was roughly equivalent to master-level armor, but the drawback was that it made her very clumsy and stiff when moving.
Xi Wei thought that this skill might have unexpected effects if used to restrain enemies.
The Stone Golem summoned by the latter looked somewhat similar to Sark. Now Nina could summon three golems at once. The strength of the golems depended on the quality of the stone; the better the stone, the stronger the summoned golems.
After testing the skills, Xi Wei let Nina leave. The little girl was exhausted today. Except for the skills Mineral Vein Search and Rich Mineral Art, Xi Wei had already fully understood all of them.
Since he had nothing else to do, Xi Wei took a detour and wandered around the Inner City of Winter City, where he unexpectedly encountered an acquaintance near an inconspicuous corner.
It was Ruo Yi.
She was currently talking to a mysterious woman hidden in a hood, her expression somewhat excited.
Xi Wei silently retreated to the corner, focusing on capturing the content of their conversation.
However, the person hidden in the hood deliberately interfered with her voice using magic. Although Xi Wei could clearly hear Ruo Yi’s voice, he couldn’t hear the mysterious person’s voice clearly.
“I won’t leave here. This… this is my home. I don’t know about the Temple of Time either…”
The mysterious person, wearing a hood and hiding her face, was indifferent to Ruo Yi’s excitement and refusal, and only advised in a low voice:
“You will eventually return there, to inherit… this is your mission… old… invasion… disaster, and Eagle Territory will still be…”
The hooded person’s words made Ruo Yi bewildered. Her large blue-gold eyes were filled with bitterness and anxiety, and Xi Wei was also confused.
The mysterious person wanted to say more, but Xi Wei was no longer willing to let her continue.
In just over ten meters, Xi Wei leaped forward, his elbow swinging like a battle axe towards the mysterious person.
No information visible!
Xi Wei’s gaze sharpened. The mysterious person’s information was also obscured by Divinity.
Facing the deadly killing intent, the mysterious person was not afraid. A golden light flashed in her hand, and she spat out a mouthful of blood, chanting obscure syllables:
“Ziga-sign-ofeni-aos”
A giant golden clock phantom appeared behind Xi Wei, and then he felt his body rapidly retreating, involuntarily returning to the previous corner.
What the heck was that?
Xi Wei was stunned. When he looked again, he saw that the mysterious person in front of Ruo Yi had already escaped.
“Xi Wei…” Ruo Yi came to Xi Wei’s side, standing there timidly with a complex expression.
“That person is from the Temple of Time. She found me and said I’m some Goddess of Time…” Ruo Yi smiled helplessly when she said this, as if amused by this absurd information.
“How can I be a goddess? If I were a goddess, how could the Demi-humans have suffered so many tribulations?”
Ruo Yi’s face grew paler, her brows furrowed, and she continued with some difficulty:
“She… she wants me to return to the Temple of Time, to revive my divine will there… relight the divine fire, and condense the godhead…”
“She said this is… hiss…” Ruo Yi originally wanted to continue, but she let out a sharp gasp of pain, as if ten thousand needles were piercing her mind.
“She… she said…”
“Alright, stop talking.”
Xi Wei stopped Ruo Yi. He could feel that the power within Ruo Yi was very disordered at the moment and was gradually boiling. He quickly hugged her gently, stroking her back to comfort her.
“Good girl, don’t say anymore. I know everything.”
Xi Wei stroked Ruo Yi’s head. He knew that Ruo Yi was afraid of creating a rift between them, so she was determined to say everything.
“Xi Wei, I’m so scared…” Ruo Yi’s delicate hands tightly hugged Xi Wei’s waist, so tightly as if a drowning person clinging to a life-saving float.
She buried her pretty face in Xi Wei’s arms and said with a choked voice:
“What if everything she said is true? I… I don’t want to leave Winter City, and I don’t want to leave you, nor.. don’t want to lose you…”
“Xi Wei, I’m so sad…”
“Good girl, it’s nothing. That person is a liar. You won’t leave Winter City, and you won’t leave me. I won’t let you leave either.”
Xi Wei hugged Ruo Yi’s soft, tender body and comforted her gently, but his eyes were extremely serious and cold.
Because he knew that what the mysterious person said was mostly true. Ruo Yi was the vessel for that so-called Goddess of Time, which could be seen from her skills.
“Really?” Ruo Yi looked up, her eyes red, looking at Xi Wei with a few tears still lingering in the corners of her eyes.
“Of course, it’s true. Don’t worry.” Xi Wei said affirmatively.
“I don’t believe it~ Unless you kiss me~” Ruo Yi wriggled in Xi Wei’s arms and acted spoiled, tilting her pretty face up, pouting her red lips, her slightly narrowed eyes filled with hazy mist and affection.
Xi Wei was helpless and could only peck Ruo Yi’s small mouth twice, teasing:
“Alright, you’re so old, yet you’re still like a child. Loli would definitely laugh at you if she saw this.”
“Hmph~ Let her laugh. Any extra kiss is a gain for me~” Ruo Yi giggled, holding Xi Wei’s hand, and said softly:
“Lord~ Let’s go home~”
“Okay.”
…
On the path in Winter Fort’s garden.
Xi Wei walked ahead, holding Ruo Yi’s soft, small hand, while Ruo Yi followed closely behind Xi Wei with a sweet smile.
Her gaze was fixed on the broad back of the man in front of her, her eyes filled with love, but with a hidden trace of bitterness.
Her other delicate hand was behind her back, clenched tightly, holding a golden clock necklace…
