Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
These memories from the sea were eventually hidden within a blue crystal.
It was a drop of the Sea God’s tear before his demise.
For a thousand years, it drifted at the bottom of the sea until it was salvaged by a human fleet, and after several twists and turns, it ended up in Xi Wei’s hands.
The scene finally froze at the moment when (Player Name) (M) presented the Sea God’s Tear to Xi Wei.
The familiar dizziness washed over him, and the distorting images shattered.
With a flash of light and darkness, the surroundings had returned to their familiar appearance.
The fountain in Winter Fort, the Sark adorned with flowers, and Xing Hai, supported by water.
“What was that just now? The Sea God’s memories?”
Xi Wei recalled the scenes he had just witnessed, and for some reason, he felt a tremor of unease.
“Rather than memories, it’s more of a warning… They are coming.”
Under the influence of the Sea God’s Tear, Xing Hai’s memories had been fully restored.
She now also knew the truth that she was a vessel for a god.
But why would the Sea God choose her as a vessel if he had already perished?
The chaotic thoughts made the innocent and carefree mermaid girl fall into a bit of a silence.
Xi Wei was astonished to discover that the entire maid group had arrived.
Loli stood by his side, gently holding his hand, her eyes full of worry.
“Why have you all come?” Xi Wei stroked Loli’s little head, his gaze sweeping around.
“We sensed unusual activity and feared something might happen, so we came to check,” Ruo Yi stood in place, her expression calm.
The gentle breeze lifted her long skirt and hair, carrying a wisp of sweet fragrance.
It was evident that she had come in a hurry, not even having time to put on her headmaid armor.
It wasn’t as casual as she made it sound.
“I woke up and wanted to find Master, so I came,” Loli said with a soft laugh, hugging Xi Wei’s arm.
“Just finished eating,” You Ye was as concise as ever.
“I was just about to take a nap… Can’t you just stay quiet for a moment?” Bai Yao complained with slightly open eyes and pursed lips.
“And yet, you still came?”
“Hmph! It’s not because I was worried about you! I just came to see the fountain and play with Sister Xing Hai. It has nothing to do with you! Hmph hmph! You’ll be so angry!” Bai Yao made a face at Xi Wei, this guy might only have his mouth left after being cremated.
“I was researching metal transmutation…” Nina looked a little stunned as she fidgeted with her right hand with her left, saying with some uncertainty, “A premonition told me you might be in danger, so I ran here… I knew it, how could you possibly be in danger? Uncle Groin even said that there are very few beings on the entire North Continent who can harm you.”
Xi Wei rubbed his nose, feeling a little embarrassed.
If it wasn’t for Lewenstein, there would still be seven or eight people on the North Continent who could harm him.
And the situation just now was indeed very dangerous.
“Waaaah, did Connie arrive late?” Connie’s voice and the flapping of wings could be heard from a distance.
“Whoosh—!”
A pink giant dragon flew over from the horizon in a hurry.
As soon as she reached the top of Xi Wei’s head, she transformed into human form and ran to his side.
“Darling… uh, Master, are you alright?”
Connie circled Xi Wei first, then carefully examined him from all sides.
Only when she was sure that Xi Wei was completely unharmed did she let out a sigh of relief.
“I’m so angry!” She put her hands on her hips, puffed out her cheeks, and pouted, looking indignant. “I knew I shouldn’t have gone to help Bryant beat up the Red Dragon. Now I’ve only just rushed back, *sob sob sob*… ”
Today, after delivering milk, Bryant had begged her relentlessly to help him get revenge.
He was still hung up on the deep-seated grudge of losing his wife and the humiliation of being cuckolded.
After paying the price of three sapphires, Connie agreed to help Bryant get revenge.
So she went with Bryant, but while beating up the Red Dragon, she suddenly felt a pang of unease and, without caring about anything else, flew towards Winter Fort with all her might.
“You went to help Bryant get revenge?” Xi Wei was surprised.
Bryant had told him the story about the Red Dragon and the little Green Dragon.
He had also promised Bryant that he would help him get revenge in the future.
He hadn’t expected the kid to be so impatient and directly find Connie for help.
“How was it, did you fight them?”
“Of course!” Connie puffed out her small chest proudly and said, “When this dragon takes action, of course, I beat that Red Dragon until it cried and begged for mercy, hitting the ground with its face! But I only beat it for a while before returning halfway. Now Bryant is still… Oh no! It’s over!”
Connie covered her mouth, her big eyes blinking, showing embarrassment and pity.
The others exchanged glances, having already guessed what had happened, and offered silent condolences to the poor Blue Dragon.
“It’s okay, only those who endure the bitter hardships can become great dragons. We must believe that Comrade Bryant can return safely!”
Xi Wei had full confidence in the Blue Dragon!
…
Meanwhile.
In the wilderness on the border between the Wintery Empire and the Kairid Empire.
Bryant was being pursued by a Red Dragon and a Green Dragon.
“Quintuckta, you’re going too far! You’ve been chasing me for so long!”
“Sarya, I’m your big brother Bryant! Even if you don’t recognize me, you can’t help that Red Dragon!”
The Red Dragon chasing Bryant had a head full of bumps, which Connie had inflicted on him.
Although he didn’t know why that pink, violent dragon had suddenly left.
But if he didn’t get revenge now, would he wait until the New Year?
He flapped his wings fiercely, bringing him closer to Bryant, and let out two streams of sulfur-smelling black smoke from his nostrils, baring his ferocious mouth and roaring, “Bryant, I gave you a chance! Last time I let you leave peacefully, and now you dare to cause trouble again?! Causing trouble is one thing, but you even brought a helper?! Shame on the Dragon Race!”
“Aren’t you two ganging up on me too!” Bryant felt incredibly wronged.
If it weren’t for his slightly faster flight speed than the Red Dragon, he would have already been beaten to a pulp by the two of them right now.
“Sarya isn’t even an adult, so she can’t be counted as combat power?”
Quintuckta sneered and spewed a mouthful of dragon breath, like a burning ass, at Bryant flying ahead.
However, Bryant skillfully dodged it.
He continued to chase with all his might, cursing all the while.
“Shame on the Blue Dragon! Turtle Dragon! Can’t even protect his own wife! What a disgrace to the dragon race!”
Bryant’s vision turned black with anger upon hearing this, and he almost turned around to fight the Red Dragon.
But his reason told him that doing so would play right into the Red Dragon’s hands.
Connie had truly gotten him into trouble this time. When the Red Dragon was being beaten, Bryant had ridden on the Green Dragon’s back, acting all high and mighty.
He had insulted them in every way possible!
Now it was his turn to suffer.
As soon as Connie left, it was his turn to be unlucky.
He carefully identified the direction and, as before, found a random patch of forest and plunged into it.
He was getting closer and closer to the Kairid Empire.
He had learned the shapeshifting technique and could transform into a human to blend into the human empire, but the Red Dragon couldn’t.
This muscle-brained fire-breathing lizard would never spend the time and effort to learn shapeshifting, and that’s where Bryant’s opportunity lay!
