Chapter 0: 55. Wishing you success
(I sincerely apologize, I was away for treatment for the past few days and have now returned.)
“Qin Gou, what exactly do you know?”
Mo Ying was extremely surprised that Qin Gou could mention such details about the so-called ‘imposter’.
“That’s what I want to ask you too.” Qin Gou shook his head. “Tell me, where did you or the Demon God encounter this ‘imposter’ you speak of?”
“You really know how to pick your questions.” Mo Ying gritted his teeth.
“You can’t say? Then it’s highly likely that it’s in that mysterious place, the ‘Upper Realm’ as the Abyss Citizens call it, where the Demon God is currently located.”
Qin Gou began to analyze internally. “Furthermore, the fact that the two are still in opposition indicates that even though the ‘imposter’ has a more supreme realm and majesty, it is ultimately restricted in some way, making it difficult to exert full power, or perhaps its stay is not long. Otherwise, the outcome would have long been decided by victory and defeat, rather than maintaining this delicate ‘state of opposition’… Also, what is the purpose of this so-called ‘imposter’? Could it be that it intends to forcibly merge the two by eliminating ‘the other’ to become even more powerful?”
Seeing that Qin Gou remained silent for a long time, Mo Ying proactively asked, “Qin Gou, you…”
“Forget it.”
Suddenly, Qin Gou waved his hand. “I’ve thought about it carefully. I probably won’t get any truly useful information from you. After all, from the fact that you still refer to ‘that guy’ as an ‘imposter’, it’s not hard to see that your understanding of this matter is probably not as good as mine.”
Upon hearing this, Mo Ying said in a deep voice, “I’m just too curious that you, Qin Gou, could also get involved in this matter?”
“I will not tell you anything.” Qin Gou, without hesitation, imitated Mo Ying’s previous tone, exactly the same.
“Then let’s end this.”
Mo Ying cast a cold glance at the Ban Qin Sabers that were floating around him, emanating a lethal threat.
“Are you seeking death?” Qin Gou raised an eyebrow, quite curious. “Why have you suddenly become so tough?”
“Although I haven’t fully learned what I most want to know, I have seen quite a bit up to this point… everything that has happened since our Lord was no longer in the Abyss.”
As he spoke, Mo Ying’s gaze swept quickly across Yan Suoyun, Ren Ci, and the Divine Bridge, finally refocusing on Qin Gou. “Furthermore, there will be a day when I return to our Lord, and I have waited a long time for this moment.”
“You believe you can return to the Demon God’s side and have him obtain all the memories you have seen so far?”
“I will report everything truthfully!”
“You are definitely being tricked by the Demon God like a fool.”
“Presumptuous!”
Mo Ying exploded in rage, but less than half a second later, he was obediently pushed back to the corner by the Ban Qin Sabers.
Qin Gou spread his hands, chuckling in amusement, and asked, “Without the Divine Bridge connecting the two realms, how will you return to the Demon God’s side?”
“My connection with our Lord is not something a mere mortal like you can comprehend,” Mo Ying retorted with a cold sneer.
“Then why, even though you have a way to transmit a portion of your strength from the Abyss back to the Demon God, can’t the Demon God himself, in a similar way, at least maintain your strength for a while? At least so you wouldn’t have suffered such a tremendous loss during this long seal?”
Qin Gou continued to press. “Could it be that the Demon God never took your existence to heart, or has already forgotten you?”
“Are you trying to instill fear in me this way?” Mo Ying retorted.
Qin Gou calmly shook his head. “I just feel that there are significant loopholes, yet you have no doubts. This is rather abnormal. Perhaps the Abyss Demon God, because he is wary of your rebellion, has already tampered with your ‘ability to suspect’ him?”
“Do I need to have even a thread of doubt towards our Lord?”
Mo Ying said, both amused and exasperated, “Qin Gou, it seems you don’t understand loyalty at all.”
“It seems you don’t understand the Demon God.”
Qin Gou’s expression was firm, and at the same time, he decided to test his guess directly. He took out the Soul Capturing Bottle again.
“Do you recognize him?”
As he spoke, Qin Gou temporarily lifted a layer of the seal on Ning Gu in the Soul Capturing Bottle.
“Ning Gu Demon Lord?” Mo Ying quickly recognized him.
“This aura is… Our Lord?!” In the Soul Capturing Bottle, Ning Gu was also filled with shock.
“Don’t misunderstand.”
Qin Gou calmly explained, “It is not the Demon God, at least that’s what it says about itself. It cannot truly and completely represent the Demon God’s Will.”
“What?”
Ning Gu found it difficult to comprehend for a moment, but he still said to Mo Ying without hesitation, “In fact, it was my Soul Power that awakened the Abyssal Divine Bridge!”
“Are you, Ning Gu, now a companion of this Qin Gou? But in your current pathetic state, you don’t look like one.”
“I…”
Ning Gu paused, his gaze quickly sweeping between Qin Gou and Mo Ying, completely avoiding a direct answer. He said cunningly, “I, Ning Gu, in this life, from beginning to end, have only been loyal to Our Lord alone!”
“I understand.” Mo Ying’s tone softened slightly, and he then sneered at Qin Gou. “Treating and imprisoning a Demon Lord like this, the Abyss will surely remember this… Of course, for you, Qin Gou, you’re already burdened with too many debts.”
Upon hearing this, Qin Gou merely nodded slightly and said to Ning Gu, “Have you forgotten the most important matter?”
Hearing this, Ning Gu gritted his teeth. “Yes, all I want to know now is when will the promise Our Lord made to me back then, that as long as I served diligently, he would reshape my Dao Body and true form, finally be fulfilled…”
“What did you say?” Mo Ying’s voice was filled with confusion.
“Our Lord?!” Ning Gu exclaimed in astonishment.
“I’ve already said that I cannot truly represent the Demon God, my lord.”
Then, before Ning Gu could completely despair, Qin Gou, with a knowing look, put away the Soul Capturing Bottle.
“Qin Gou, what exactly are you doing?” Mo Ying asked, utterly bewildered.
Qin Gou let out a long sigh and asked, “I have already ‘finished the verification’… You completely couldn’t understand Ning Gu’s request just now, right?”
“I do not recall the Demon God, my lord, making any promises to Ning Gu Demon Lord that must be fulfilled.”
Mo Ying replied without hesitation. “I haven’t seen him for so many years, and I don’t know how Ning Gu ended up in this state.”
“Masterful.”
Qin Gou’s mouth twitched as he praised, extending a hand and controlling several Ban Qin Sabers from a distance.
“So be it. It’s time to fulfill your wish. After all, according to yourself, or rather ‘the Demon God,’ even if you were to vanish into smoke before me right now, you would surely return to the Demon God, right?”
Mo Ying crossed his arms behind his back and said sternly, “I will report everything truthfully, including the fact that you, Qin Gou, have some connection with that ‘imposter’! To Our Lord, you rebels are absolutely untrustworthy and cannot be associated with!”
Upon hearing this, Qin Gou’s gaze became extremely strange.
“If you are going to report this, I sincerely wish you success.”
