## Chapter 162: This Is Too Terrifying
## Chapter 163: This Is Too Terrifying
The conflict between modern Dragonborn and ancient Evil Dragons was, to say the least, irreconcilable.
From each other’s perspective, the other was a blasphemous and distorted entity that defiled their kin’s honor, an abomination they wished to obliterate into dust!
From the Evil Dragons’ point of view, what were these degenerate Dragonborn, so brutally altered by the Primal King? They were grotesque abominations! How could their bones, blood, flesh, and spirit become mere modification materials?! It was infuriating!
Enesyin, likewise, felt that these Fiend Dragons were polluting the purity of the Dragon Species. How could the Dragonborn created by the Primal King be compared to these ancient Evil Dragons?
However, none of that mattered. Did this conflict require mediation? No. The ancient fiends and modern descendants were locked in a battle to the death.
Enesyin’s arrival drew all their hatred. Even though Yonglan’s threat was theoretically greater, all the Evil Dragons converged on the Platinum-haired Dragon Maiden.
“It’s difficult to fight effectively in the air. Let’s smash them all to the ground!”
Yonglan said, seeing this. Although he could tread on air, it was less convenient than fighting the winged Evil Dragons. It wasn’t that he couldn’t win, but rather to prevent the enemy from escaping.
Seeing Enesyin nod in agreement, Yonglan ascended further, beginning to stomp on the backs of the Evil Dragons.
His steel greaves slammed down. The hard dragon scales were vulnerable under the True Red Embers’ flames. Each stomp sent up clouds of burning steam.
Instantly, two Evil Dragons had their spines broken and plummeted downwards.
But the Evil Dragons were worthy of their status as high-ranking kin of ancient times. Despite their surprise at Yonglan’s power, their reaction speed did not diminish. They quickly sensed Yonglan’s intent and roared, moving to intercept him.
The closest Evil Dragon to Yonglan aimed at the Warrior, raising its arm and swinging down with immense force! Its massive white claw seemed poised to crush Yonglan into a pulp.
The Warrior, however, let out a cold laugh. Facing the colossal claw above him, whose scales he could clearly analyze, he raised the Soul Devouring Blade in his left hand.
Infusing it with Spirit Matter, rapid vibrations appeared around the blade, transforming it into an unstoppable weapon of destruction.
These Evil Dragons were naturally more suited for combat than humans. Their massive size, impressive reaction speed, near-impenetrable scales, and strength capable of leveling city walls.
Coupled with their incredibly swift flight capabilities, these creatures were veritable war machines. A single one could conquer a small city.
But most dragons were still mortal beings. No matter how great their power, it could never surpass that of a Demigod, a truly terrifying power capable of destroying mountains and cities.
Yet, even against such might, Yonglan could fight and win. How much less so against Evil Dragons that were not divine beings.
The Soul Devouring Blade swung, like a streak of azure light, soaring upwards from below. It met the scales of the white dragon’s claw. But unlike what every Evil Dragon expected, the result was not the human’s weapon shattering and him being crushed into paste by the dragon’s power. Instead, the azure Soul Devouring Blade silently sliced through the Evil Dragon’s claw, cleaving off a large chunk of flesh.
“Bang!”
Half a dragon claw fell to the ground. The gaping wound clearly revealed severed muscle tissue and the cross-sections of bone and blood vessels.
Amidst the Evil Dragon’s pained roars, blue dragon blood rained down. The Warrior, bathed in dragon blood, let out a laugh and then swung the Soul Devouring Blade, horizontally slicing towards the Evil Dragon’s waist.
The sharpness of the Soul Devouring Blade was beyond question. A weapon used to slay gods was certainly capable of slaughtering dragons. The scales on a dragon’s waist were inherently less tough than those on their backs and claws. Under the immense force of the Soul Devouring Blade’s horizontal slash, a massive gash was instantly opened.
“Roar—”
An ear-splitting, painful roar vibrated through the air.
Yonglan, however, showed no mercy. He activated the Ember Forge, causing the Soul Devouring Blade to ignite with crimson flames. A terrifying heat erupted within the dragon’s body. The conflict between the high heat and the icy Spirit Matter caused the dragon’s blood to boil instantaneously, producing a large amount of blue steam.
The hard dragon scales were forced apart. The Evil Dragon’s eyes bulged, but it could no longer cry out in pain. Its abdomen was distended by the steam generated by its own blood. A cruel smile played on the Warrior’s lips. Without hesitation, he withdrew the Soul Devouring Blade from the wound.
*Pfft!* Like a deflating balloon, countless internal organs and flesh, accompanied by high-pressure blue blood steam, spewed out from the wound, splattering the earth. The Evil Dragon, with a final wail, had all its flesh and soul greedily consumed by the True Red Embers.
The shattered dragon carcass slowly turned to ash, becoming drifting fragments. The orb of soul-light was held in Yonglan’s hand.
[Remnant Soul of a True Dragon]
[A scion of the Dragon God lineage, gifted a Seed of Fire in the star system in remembrance of friendship with Hram, possessing physical strength and Dragon Language Artifices far superior to other races.]
[Legend has it that a dragon’s power is connected by bloodline and reflected in the stars; however, this Authority has been sealed.]
[True Dragons are the rulers of the heavens, governing the movement of stars and celestial bodies.]
[Refined by the Authority, it can be used as material or to replenish Spirit Matter.]
“Can someone who isn’t Hram become a Celestial God? I thought ancient Evil Dragons were also mutated forms of Hram?”
Yonglan scanned the information, a hint of curiosity in his voice. He then crushed the soul-light orb of the True Dragon, feeling the surge of power within him, and let out a long sigh.
The Evil Dragons, witnessing this, were utterly terrified:
“Soul Extraction Artifice…”
“How can such an Artifice exist?!”
“How terrifyingly cruel…”
“This is too dreadful.”
The Ember Forge’s effects were far more potent than simply burning corpses to ashes. It directly utilized souls as a resource. This was a technique only a very few divine beings could master. In essence, this was the fate that enemy Celestial Gods might face during battle.
But Yonglan had simply crushed it in front of them, which was truly astounding.
Without a soul, there was utter annihilation, with no possibility of return or continued existence.
“What, scared witless?”
Yonglan drew his bow with one hand. The light arrow coalesced by the Bow of Chasing the Distant Hunt sent desperate warnings to the Evil Dragons’ instincts. Several Evil Dragons instinctively shifted their bodies sideways, considering a retreat.
“This is my chance to have some fun. You have two choices: either fight to the death, or kneel and surrender… I personally recommend the former.”
“At least you’ll die with some dignity.”
The Evil Dragons, who were on the verge of accepting defeat and fleeing, were instantly enraged by these words. They could not tolerate being looked down upon by a Mortal, even if he was far stronger than them:
“Silence, Mortal! How could we fear you!”
