VIP Chapter 120: Will’s Preparations
Will admitted that shopping with women was a troublesome affair. However, having women shop for him and buy him clothes was actually quite pleasant.
At Nov’s premier menswear store.
“Let’s start with tops; your undershirt is already threadbare,” Treya pointed out to Will.
“Mhm, then we need to replace your pants and jacket too. Since we’re here, let’s get you set up for all four seasons at once,” Liya said, fussing over him like a worried mother.
“Young Master! Your underwear should be replaced too—”
“Don’t say that out loud!”
And so, the three teammates began searching the menswear store with more care than if they were picking out clothes for themselves, bringing almost anything that caught their eye to Will.
Will, meanwhile, stood by the fitting room like an unfeeling mannequin, changing outfits one after another.
However, they seemed to have very high standards. After trying on two or three sets, they’d still be unsatisfied and go back to look for more.
“This is quite rare; I’ve never seen a man here with… uh… three women individually picking out clothes for him,” the sales assistant remarked, looking confused. “May I ask… what is your relationship?”
Will looked at the backs of the three young girls in the men’s clothing store.
“Teammates, really… just teammates.” He pondered for a moment before adding, “But… I’ve taken care of them a lot, so this is them repaying me… uh… for my kindness?”
…
What Will found rather unexpected, however, was his initial assumption. He thought…
A princess from a royal family.
A witch who was actually a bit older.
A maid, who came from a commoner or even slave background and hadn’t seen much of fashionable clothing.
He assumed their opinions on clothing styles and what looked good would clash, making it impossible to reach a consensus.
But… the surprising thing was… all three of them managed to agree on his outfits without any arguments.
“I think the color of this shirt is just right.”
“The fit is wrong. Teacher Will is too thin to pull off a deep V-neck shirt like this, which requires a certain physique.”
“Iaar thinks… it needs to be paired with a jacket. And it can’t be too formal or serious, otherwise, it won’t feel like a Young Master’s style.”
Their “ideal look” seemed very similar – they appeared to have a shared vision of “the perfect outfit.”
It’s just… you three have peculiar tastes and very high demands! They spent an hour trying on clothes, but not a single outfit received unanimous approval.
About two hours later… Will emerged and glanced out the window. It was already dark, almost time for dinner.
This is how girls shop… they are truly meticulous, determined to try things until they are satisfied! Although his body wasn’t tired, he felt mentally drained.
“This one! This is wonderful! Iaar loves this!”
“Not bad. It captures that mischievous yet incredibly reliable vibe.”
“Just one more thing, add this little red tie.”
“Perfect!”
“Treya, well done!”
…
Before Will had a chance to look in the mirror, the three of them had already stamped their approval: “This is the best one!”
He walked over to the mirror. Liya had chosen a gray undershirt for him, slightly loose with a plain collar. Upon closer inspection, the gray shirt had subtle white patterns that seemed to depict a corner of the galaxy. This piece had a bit of a dashing rogue’s flair.
Additionally, there was a black jacket with a vest. This was Iaar’s idea; she stated it would make the Young Master appear as a very dependable person. This jacket wasn’t designed to be buttoned up; it was meant to be worn open, giving off a more carefree and uninhibited look. Treya’s choice of pants didn’t require much comment, except that the slim cut made his legs appear longer.
However… the small red tie Treya finally fastened on him was the finishing touch, making him look even more like “a captain who can charm with his words.”
Overall… this outfit, which looked both flashy and dependable… was it actually quite handsome? If he wore this to meet S, wouldn’t S think he was a reliable junior… perhaps?
“How is it? Are you satisfied, Young Master?”
“Hmph, we spent so long picking these out, you’re not allowed to say you’re not satisfied,” Liya chimed in.
“If you have any complaints, we can keep looking,” Treya added.
“Mmm…”
Will felt that his own standards certainly weren’t as high as these girls who were in their prime (and Liya probably was too). Especially… indeed, when it comes to clothing, the opposite sex is the best judge of its effect.
So, this is the one! He would choose this outfit to meet Mr. S.
“It’s fine, as long as you like it. Then we’ll take these clothes, for now, to wear after washing. I’ll pay…” Will took out his wallet, ready to ask the sales assistant who had been following them for the total cost.
Just then… Treya’s cool, fair hand stopped him. This time, Treya leaned close to Will’s ear and whispered in a slightly husky voice into his left ear, “I still have some allowance money left from what my family gave me. As my fiancé, I’ll cover the cost of this outfit.”
“Oh… that’s quite embarrassing…”
But before Treya could pull out her wallet, Liya interrupted by flicking her ponytail. She leaned in close to Will’s right ear and said, “You’ve helped me for so many years, and you’ve earned a lot from project expenses. I’ve wanted to buy you new clothes for a long time. Both morally and logically, I should be the one to pay for this.”
“Hmm? Well, that’s very kind!”
“Wait a moment!” Iaar stepped forward from the front.
“Why are you out here too!”
“The Young Master should pay! This is his own clothing. We already split the cost of the equipment earlier, so he should pay for his own clothes.”
“Aren’t you going to help me at this moment?”
“Hehe, but the Young Master’s little wallet is with Iaar. This is the joint travel fund given by Master Carver to Iaar and the Young Master…” Iaar pulled out a small wallet from her bag.
Oh, right. No wonder Will couldn’t find his wallet after searching for so long. So, you’ve been managing the finances!
“There’s no reason for a servant to pay. I should do it.”
“I already told you, this is what I owe from three years ago.”
“Things concerning the Young Master should be handled by the one who understands him best—”
Will, still in his new clothes, stood by, dumbfounded. He never expected to see women vying to pay for him. However… he had indeed given a lot to these three. And they were no longer the shy and timid, tsundere and avoidant, or naive and clueless “loser dogs” from the original work. Now, they were genuinely healthy and cute girls who truly understood the psychology of “repaying the kindness you’ve brought.”
But… no. The balance must be maintained!
“Alright, alright! Stop arguing, all of you. I’ve thought of a great solution!” Will finally interrupted their bickering. “How about one-third each? Consider it as each of you gifting me one item.”
““”Okay—!””” As if waiting for Will to say this, the three of them reached an agreement and rushed to the counter.
However… watching the three of them argue over which item belonged to whom, Will felt a strange sense of being “divided” among them.
He was a little scared… he had specifically changed into new clothes, and Mr. S might just show up in his adventurer’s casual wear. Would it surprise him? After all… he was probably… likely… perhaps someone who truly didn’t care about attire, right?
