The Tower, this continent, or rather this realm, holds the most mysterious but also not very mysterious organization.
The mystery lies in the fact that, in recent history, the Tower has rarely intervened or made an appearance; outsiders do not even know what the internal structure of the Tower is.
Yet, it is not mysterious at all, because this magical organization is almost universally known; no professional remains unaware of the Tower’s existence.
Although the Tower has almost never made an appearance, and most professionals have already forgotten when the last time the Tower intervened was, the Tower is still managing high-level professionals, and no one dares to question its authority.
The Tower is also the most secretive entity closest to the sky in this continent; no one has ever found the location of the Tower, but no one questions that the “tower” is the existence closest to the heavens above.
“Welcome to the Northern Border, but I hope the next time you come, you will go through our security systems in the Northern Border.”
Facing these guests from the Tower, Lind was actually not very welcoming, because they did not enter through the front door but brazenly climbed in through the windows.
They didn’t even inform the host, Lind, in advance.
“You are the first ruler to dare joke with us like this; last time we visited Augustine III, he was quite humble.”
“Thank you for your recognition.”
Lind calmly took a sip of water, surprised to find that his evaluation at the Tower was quite high, already considering him a “ruler.”
In front of these Tower people, Lind maintained a relatively calm mindset. Besides having 550C protection, if the Tower really wanted to make a move, they wouldn’t have specifically come to see him; since they had come in person, it meant there were matters to discuss, and as long as discussions could happen, there was room for negotiation.
The person in charge of the Tower was a human lady whose age was indiscernible, dressed in a white robe, followed by many professionals in similar robes.
This group of professionals appeared remarkably plain, resembling scholars, looking quite ordinary; it could be said that without their robes, you could throw a brick on Graywhite Territory and hit a few similar researchers.
But no one doubted the identities of these Tower professionals; after all, no organization would dare impersonate someone from the Tower, especially since this team of professionals was almost all high-level professionals.
Before the Avar Kingdom landed on this continent, only one organization could gather a team of high-level professionals.
However, the simplicity of the Tower exceeded Lind’s imagination; originally, he thought the Tower was also a group of oddball characters, but it turned out to be a serious magical organization.
“Whenever we visit the rulers of the mortal realm, we bring small gifts; last time, we gave Augustine a holy grail that could foresee the future. Are you sure you don’t want to give it a try?”
The lady claiming to be from the Tower, named Deborah, confirmed this once more to Lind.
“What is the principle behind this foreseeing the future? Can you really predict the future through astrology?”
Compared to his own future, Lind was more interested in how the Tower could foresee the future. After all, 550C was still floating in the sky, yet they were asking him to believe in metaphysics?
“Astrology? That’s just an external misunderstanding of us; this era has long since lost astrologers, and astrology has merely become pre-determined artwork. The way the holy grail predicts the future is probably something you can’t even imagine.”
Upon hearing this, Lind became even more curious, saying, “Then tell me about it. I want to see what unimaginable method it is; consider it a small gift from your Tower to me.”
Seeing Lind’s half-joking attitude, Deborah lightly laughed and said, “The holy grail collects information from all phenomena around you and uses calculations to deduce your future.”
Oh, so you also have to believe in science, huh? Then that’s fine.
But reflecting on it, Lind almost jumped up; does it mean that the Tower possesses a supercomputer capable of extensive calculations?
Being able to deduce the future from collected information, although it might not be as powerful as a super AI like 550C, given that it only has computational power and is highly limited, it is already a black technology in this age.
“Can I see it?”
Lind immediately thought it must be something left over from the Golden Age.
“You already asked for a gift earlier.”
Deborah shook her head regretfully.
“Now we should discuss the formal matters.”
“Alright.”
Lind felt a bit disappointed but quickly adjusted his mindset; after all, he had never had high expectations of the Tower, and having any useful information was already an unexpected delight.
Although having a group of high-level professionals from the Tower help him develop technology was very tempting, the Tower was too mysterious, and he fundamentally did not know if they were friends or foes. Lind could only cautiously probe and boldly speculate to communicate with the Tower.
However, judging from the upcoming statements of the Tower, at least they were not some evil organization secretly controlling the continent.
“Although we are not concerned about your regime’s development, we still need to confirm that you are hosting a guest from another continent and are studying supremacy magic with his help, correct?”
Lind nodded, as there was no point in lying to such an organization.
“So how far have you understood supremacy magic?”
“It’s very dangerous; regardless of how supremacy magic is cast, once used, it will cause a substantial amount of magic power to vanish into thin air. This disappearing magic power differs from the dissipation after an ordinary spell ends; it will not reenter the cycle.”
Hearing Lind’s statement, Deborah and the white-robed mages behind her brightened at once.
“Hard to imagine… truly hard to imagine. I can understand your demeanor now; your research on supremacy magic has far surpassed this continent, no, including that foolish nation on the other continent. You indeed have the qualifications to speak to us in this manner.”
Deborah’s words were completely sincere, and she even stood up to bow to Lind.
“Hard to imagine you have only recently come into contact with supremacy magic; it seems we need to reassess you.”
Then, Deborah somewhat lost composure and exclaimed, “If only the idiots on the neighboring continent were as intelligent as you; those fools have nearly destroyed the magical environment in their territory before discovering this nature.”
It seems the Tower people also have their own emotions and are not truly indifferent.
“Since you have already discovered this nature, our upcoming conversation will go much more smoothly; at least we don’t have to waste breath introducing the true nature of supremacy magic to you.”
“I’ve heard you take those selling supremacy magic very seriously, so we specifically came to remind you that you absolutely must not use supremacy magic!”
“Please believe me, supremacy magic is far more dangerous than you can imagine.”
