15 – Things that Qin Xue Dislikes
“No need, I have enough clothes…” Suyun was a bit surprised and quickly waved her hand.
But the next moment, Qin Xue turned her head and glared at her, her sharp gaze not allowing Suyun any chance to refuse.
After staring for a while, Qin Xue finally said, “You’re around me, so you need to dress better; otherwise, you’ll embarrass me, got it?”
“Is that so? Sorry… then, thank you!” Suyun realized and nodded to Qin Xue in gratitude.
She felt a bit helpless inside.
So she was being disliked… and she hadn’t even noticed it herself.
After all, she hadn’t had friends for too long, and over time, she had neglected the thoughts of those around her.
Suyun changed clothes about once a year, considering practicality didn’t change much; at most, there were just a few patched holes.
But that didn’t mean her parents treated her badly; the clothes she was wearing had cost over a hundred when bought, while her parents still wore clothes worth just a few bucks from street vendors. This was considered the best for her.

The car drove back to that bustling area they had come from.
This time it truly matched Suyun’s expectations.
Standing at the entrance of a lavishly decorated store, she saw the neatly dressed, smiling server inside.
“Go in, pick what you like,” Qin Xue said, noticing Suyun frozen in place, lightly patting her shoulder.
“Oh, okay.” Suyun walked in somewhat dazed.
“Welcome.” As soon as she entered, a female server approached her with a characteristic smile.
“Uh, I…” Suyun felt a bit nervous at the scene and couldn’t speak.
“Buy it for her; are there any new styles?” Qin Xue seamlessly took over the conversation when she saw Suyun’s situation.
The server glanced at Suyun to confirm which styles suited her.
“Please walk this way.”
Suyun followed, her eyes dazzled by the glimmering clothes all around the shop.
The service attitude and the store’s decor surely weren’t cheap.
But then again, one wouldn’t find inexpensive items at Late Summer Square.
Previously, due to an event, Suyun had been forced to come out once, walking on the street with her group.
Passing a dessert shop, she noticed that four cream puffs cost 110 yuan, and promptly distanced herself.
Her parents would have to work hard for several hours to earn that money.
Suyun was now thinking of choosing cheaper clothes, maybe buy two pieces to change every day, so Qin Xue wouldn’t dislike her anymore.
As for the style, something like long pants and sleeves, preferably in black.
Qin Xue had said to choose, and Suyun had already thought of a similar type in her mind.
“This one looks good.” Qin Xue suddenly stopped and no longer followed the server.
In Qin Xue’s eyes, it was a pure white dress. Compared to other flashy decorations, she felt this simple style suited Suyun.
“Oh, this one, right? This is this year’s…” The server immediately began explaining the origins and qualities of the dress once they had identified the target.
“…” Suyun just stood aside, watching Qin Xue and the server converse fluently, unable to interject at all.
Suddenly, she felt as if she hadn’t come to choose at all.
In fact, afterward, Suyun followed Qin Xue around the store, and apart from that initial dress, they ended up buying a bunch of beautiful clothes that seemed only girls could wear.
When Qin Yuan Yuan saw her sister buying so many clothes for someone else, it made her feel a bit sour. She tried to say a few words in between but was quickly silenced by a face pinch from her sister.

“Let’s buy these first; you see, when we get back, wear whichever you like.” After their hands were so filled with items that they could hardly carry them, Qin Xue finally stepped out of the store.
Qin Yuan Yuan and Suyun both had their hands full.
“Hmph.” Suyun looked at Qin Yuan Yuan helplessly, but just as their eyes met, the latter turned her face away.
That guy, she had just shaken hands with me a moment ago.
She followed behind Qin Xue and tossed the items onto the empty passenger seat.
Letting her choose had meant to buy a bunch first and then pick from them, not to choose while buying.
Thinking back, Suyun felt very heartbroken.
The price of over a dozen outfits didn’t disappoint the store’s luxurious decor; any random piece was at least four digits, worth much more than everything she wore combined.
But even so, Qin Xue didn’t blink an eye while swiping her card.
Being rich makes you so willful.
Afterward, she really needed to focus on work.
“Home.” Qin Xue said to the female server at the driver’s seat.
“Do I have to go too?” Suyun still held a box of clothes unwilling to part with it.
“What, do you want to be lazy after just one day of work?” Qin Xue shot a cold glance at Suyun, though her face bore a faint smile, not genuinely angry.
“That’s not what I meant; I mean…”
“Hah, it seems you should continue learning etiquette later; always looking down shyly is not good.” Qin Xue teased.
“Ah, this… okay.” Faced with Qin Xue’s command, Suyun didn’t dare to resist.
Learning etiquette… this was much more tiring than cleaning a hall of several hundred square meters.

After all, she had received such expensive clothes; she couldn’t complain.
Just when Suyun buried herself into the soft car seat backrest, a ringing sound echoed.
“Stop.” Qin Xue glanced at her phone and immediately told the server to find a less populated place to stop.
Then she opened the car door and stepped outside to take the call.
Suyun could only watch from inside the car at a distance.
But she noticed that Qin Xue’s expression while on the phone didn’t look good.
While Qin Xue could sometimes be quite aloof to Suyun, like the day she bit Qin Yuan Yuan when Qin Xue’s gaze toward her was sharp, it was just anger.
But now, Suyun felt that if she touched Qin Xue or interrupted, she might get hit.
What could be so important to make Qin Xue care so much and hate it?
“Bang.” After about five minutes, Qin Xue hung up the phone and heavily slammed the car door.
This made Suyun’s heart ache, fearing the car had broken.
Of course, more so, she was concerned about Qin Xue’s situation.

Just moments ago, Qin Xue had been so enthusiastic about helping her choose clothes, and just one phone call had made her change face.
Suyun didn’t feel aggrieved; she was just increasingly curious about what had happened during Qin Xue’s call.

On the road, Suyun sat beside her, constantly glancing at Qin Xue, noticing the lovely face now adorned with a look of disgust, which made her feel she was starting to dislike something too.
When they arrived on campus, although it was Qin Xue who had chosen the clothes for her, Suyun hurriedly ran to the passenger seat to hold all the clothes in her arms.
Once she had them, the car drove off immediately, leaving Suyun feeling as if she had been abandoned.
At four in the afternoon, there were still many people at the campus gate, and this scene allowed many others coming in and out to see it.
They looked at the pretty girl with a full handful of gifts but a grim face, feeling a bit sorry for her.
Suyun also looked toward the direction in which the car had left, her inner unease growing deeper.
Earlier, when buying clothes, Qin Xue might have thought she had a bad relationship with Qin Yuan Yuan and urged them to shake hands and exchange contact information.

She didn’t care much about the stares around her; after sending the message, she picked up the pile of boxes.
Suyun still had a lot to deal with.
With so many girls’ clothes, where to put them? Don’t even ask if they can fit in the dormitory wardrobe; just putting them in there would be risky; getting seen would be a problem.
Today she also needed to find a place to live ahead of time, clean it up, then move, and contact the counselor and her parents to confirm things for the evening.
