44. Demons and angels are impossible!
In the following days, Evelyn was constantly searching for the whereabouts of the Black-robed Man. She even sent several stealthy Magical Beasts to patrol day and night, but still found nothing.
The mysterious Black-robed Man seemed to have disappeared into thin air; neither Evelyn nor the Night Watchmen could find any trace of him.
Uncle Wei and his family’s revenge had yet to be achieved, causing Evelyn to feel a bit emo these days. She spent all day distracted, refusing to eat or drink, and whenever she had the time, she would go out in search of clues.
The only thing that slightly comforted Evelyn was that Lucifer had called her recently to inform her that the blood samples had been destroyed, and she could rest easy.
This fact didn’t even require Evelyn to verify; just observing the somewhat stressed reactions of the Night Watchmen these past two days indicated that Lucifer had succeeded. After all, with a dignified Fallen Angel taking action, how could it possibly fail?
In contrast to Evelyn, Emilia seemed much more relaxed. Although she occasionally accompanied Evelyn in the search for the Black-robed Man, she spent most of her time enjoying daily campus life and teasing Evelyn. Day in and day out, she thought of ways to play pranks on Evelyn, to the point where classmates and teachers had almost completely confirmed Evelyn’s yuri label.
Evelyn had protested to Emilia about this, but predictably, each time she protested, she was pushed back by Emilia, nearly giving Evelyn a psychological shadow; plus, as a once boy, Evelyn’s sexual orientation could probably seem like it was originally supposed to be yuri… Therefore, she ultimately tearfully acquiesced to this yuri label.
However, in a sense, this label also saved Evelyn some trouble. Before Emilia transferred to the school, Evelyn often received love letters from other male students in her grade and even from other grades. Since she was not good at handling such matters, the sheer number of love letters frustrated her to the point that she could only find each one and hand out a card thanking them for their kindness.
Once Emilia arrived, classmates and teachers directly solidified her yuri label, leading to a significant decrease in the number of love letters: the boys were pleased that the beautiful girl was with them, while the girls who had previously sent letters to Evelyn had to grudgingly withdraw, feeling overshadowed by Emilia’s looks.
After all, as an Angel, Emilia was indeed quite stunning.
As for why the love letters came from other classes or even other grades, and why there were almost none from her own class… it was because those in her class, given their proximity, would find it easy to attack anyone who confessed to Evelyn…
The only thing that made Evelyn feel a bit wronged was that now, every time she walked down the street, she was easily pointed at and discussed by nearby people. It wasn’t that they were talking bad about her behind her back, but rather that they were discussing Evelyn’s yuri label, which made her blush. Evelyn was already shy, and now with people discussing her yuri status, it was really too stimulating and too shameful for her.
The most irritating part was that the root cause of all this—Emilia—loved to pop up at these moments and make some seemingly intimate gestures, as if she were hoping to cause chaos.
Evelyn even felt that she not only wouldn’t feel shy because of such rumors but that, on the contrary, she found it quite enjoyable!
Now, Evelyn had basically gotten used to Emilia’s bold actions. There was no other way; since Emilia had been sleeping on Evelyn’s bed these past few days because she didn’t clean her room, and Evelyn unconsciously treated her like a pillow when asleep, every morning led to a scene where Evelyn would wake up drowsily, yawn, and then horrified realize she was actually in Emilia’s arms. The wicked Emilia would then take the opportunity to push the dazed Evelyn over or tease her, leaving Evelyn blushing furiously every morning—it was simply too outrageous!
In summary, these past few days could be said to be the most frustrating for Evelyn: in the mornings, she got pushed and teased by a certain yuri angel; at school, her classmates would look at her with knowing smiles, which was incredibly embarrassing; after school, she had to search for the Black-robed Man throughout the city. Even after finally finishing a hard day’s work and returning to her rented room, she would still have to endure another round of teasing from a certain yuri angel. Was this life even bearable!?
Thus, when the rare weekend arrived, Evelyn hurriedly ran to her best friend’s house to visit, with no other intention but to avoid being teased by Emilia.
After all, after these past two days, even Evelyn realized that she seemed to be getting more accustomed to Emilia’s teasing and antics. The shame and anger she used to feel upon waking up in Emilia’s embrace gradually faded, as if her subconscious had gotten used to it. And the most terrifying thing was that she felt her reactions when teased had become increasingly similar to those of a couple playfully bantering…
No way… could it be that she was being seduced by that wicked angel?
Evelyn was anxious; she had to prevent such a thing from happening. Angels and demons were absolutely incompatible! It could never be accepted by either race! Even if she could coerce the Demon Race with her identity as Satan’s daughter, the Angels would never accept it, and it could even trigger another conflict between demons and angels! To avoid a massive error, Evelyn had to extinguish any kind of spark that might lead to such dangerous consequences!
She was even considering whether to stay with Nolan for a couple of days.
After all, Nolan was the Blood Clan’s eldest princess, and her residence was someone even the Night Watchmen wouldn’t dare disturb. Staying there would definitely be safe.
However, thinking of possibly interrupting the intimacy of a couple like last time, she ultimately rejected that idea herself.
She also didn’t tell Nolan or the others about this; she was afraid of being teased by Lina…
“Hey, Sister Evelyn, your tea has gone cold!”
“Eh! Really? Sorry, I was just lost in thought…”
In the back garden of Nolan’s residence, Evelyn was having a tea party with Livia and Nolan, while Miss Laura, as a maid, diligently trimmed the flowers and plants nearby.
“Sister Evelyn seems to have something on her mind~ What’s wrong? Have you finally opened your heart and fallen in love? Quickly tell us who is the lucky person that the esteemed Hell Princess has set her sights on! We’ll help you come up with ideas~”
