Chapter 106: Falling in the Dream Realm
“Aquarium?”
This word clearly surprised Ye Wanjing, after all, they were in the chaotic Layer Three of the Dream Realm.
In a place where maintaining order was extremely difficult, could there really be an aquarium?
“To be precise, it’s a collection hall, showcasing various fish brought out from the ruins of those witches.”
“Who would be willing to show off their collection to others?”
“Of course, it’s not open to the public, just to me. And what if I told you that guy is called Tang Nai?”
Upon hearing this, Ye Wanjing’s eyes widened instantly.
That wouldn’t be surprising, or rather, anything Tang Nai did wouldn’t appear surprising—she was that kind of casual person.
Seeing Ye Wanjing’s interest piqued, Irina knew she could convince her to join in on the adventure today.
On a typical day, Ye Wanjing consumed about ten rabbits’ worth of magic power, while Tang Nai’s monthly supply to her was around thirty thousand rabbits. The most precious exhibit in the aquarium, called “Momentary Mayfly,” contained a staggering thirteen million rabbits’ worth of magic power.
After all, it came from the depths of the Momentary Witch’s Dream Realm, a mayfly formed from her most treasured memory before her downfall. After drifting in the dream for many years, it absorbed an untold amount of stray magic power, causing even the over a hundred year old powerful transcendent beings to yearn for it.
It had silently rested in an inconspicuous bird’s nest in the dream until Tang Nai, out of boredom, climbed to the treetop and discovered a bird egg that could be dug out.
There were many similar collections, all lying obediently in Tang Nai’s own dream, without worry of theft.
Being reckless in someone else’s dream was a very dangerous act; if the dream’s owner had even the slightest impulse, the intruder would be restrained and ravaged in various ways. Irina had learned this the hard way the first time she was lured into Tang Nai’s dream, leaving her with a humiliating image.
If the photos from the dream could be projected into the real world, Tang Nai’s album would likely be at least double its current thickness.
However, Irina could now come and go freely in Tang Nai’s dream, so she could take Ye Wanjing to experience a luxurious aquarium, an experience typically reserved for anime.
The only prerequisite was that Tang Nai wasn’t in the dream, but based on Irina’s experience, that girl was most likely unable to sleep at this time due to the large amount of caffeine she consumed during the day.
“Alright, if we don’t go down now, it will be too late.”
Ye Wanjing cast her gaze towards the ground far beyond her sight, feeling a twinge of nervousness. At times like this, she would habitually reach for her glasses, and when she couldn’t find the frame, she would feel a sense of panic.
Irina, observing Ye Wanjing’s subtle actions, gradually understood Tang Nai’s dark humor.
She walked to the edge of the fish’s belly, peering through layers of fog, overlooking the entire Layer Three of the Dream Realm.
At this distance, everything reflected at the bottom of her retina appeared like a deep starry sky—equally splendid, equally mysterious.
Fiery reds, enchanting pinks, and dazzling golds dotted the unlit darkness, scattered and embracing the area that symbolized prosperity and beautiful visions—the Neon Veil.
That area, sparkling with all colors, had now been left far behind, yet its scattered brilliance remained the most eye-catching presence in the entire dream’s border, like the most brilliant star in the night sky, the starting point for most who entered Layer Three of the Dream Realm.
No matter how many times Irina had looked down from above, she couldn’t help but silently marvel, but there wasn’t much time to slowly appreciate the view now.
She turned away from the ground and, to Ye Wanjing’s astonishment, slowly leaned backward.
The brisk wind stirred her long dress and hat, creating a whistling sound in the air. Irina gently stretched out her hand to firmly press her hat onto her head. From this angle, Ye Wanjing could only see her faint smile gradually shrinking to a point in her sight.
Damn it, why is she so carefree?
A strong sense of discomfort enveloped Ye Wanjing’s heart, especially when Irina’s face, so similar to Sumu’s, flashed through her mind.
The Wooden Mouse seemed like the type who wouldn’t dare ride the pirate ship even at an amusement park.
But I, Lady Miti, wouldn’t be so embarrassed. The first time I went to an amusement park, I bravely rode the pirate ship, although I didn’t dare to open my eyes, but that was proof of courage!
Ye Wanjing watched Irina disappear from her view and silently steeled herself before leaping down with her eyes closed.
The rushing air continuously battered her face, and a strong sense of imbalance enveloped her entire body. Fortunately, she had already adapted to the sensation of flying in reality, and she quickly overcame this discomfort, daringly opening her eyes and was instantly stunned by the enchanting sight before her.
Previously, due to her weaker perception ability, she couldn’t see down through the layers of fog like Irina, but at this moment, the dreamlike scenery was magnifying in her view, captivating her.
And at the center of her sight was the unmistakable figure.
The reappearing Irina was similarly gazing at Ye Wanjing; she felt a bit disappointed for not witnessing the expected reaction.
Why did Ye Wanjing adapt so quickly?
Recalling her first time falling from the Dreamfish, Irina unconsciously frowned.
Back then, she and Sumu looked like soft, vulnerable dolls, feeling extremely insecure being alone in the dream, and unfortunately being lured onto the fish by the silver-haired witch named Tang Nai. It was only right before reaching the destination that she realized she had to jump off quickly.
To save her life, Irina could only force her weakening legs to jump down, subsequently losing control of her body in the air, inelegantly flailing her limbs while screaming and shedding panicked tears as the wind filled her mouth.
Tang Nai laughed wildly below, holding a camera and carefully capturing that scene.
She had intended to trick Ye Wanjing in a similar manner, but unexpectedly, this girl’s reaction was a bit dull.
What a pity, but there were still plenty of tricks left.
While thinking, Irina flipped her hand, and a pair of exquisite black frame glasses appeared in her palm.
Then, Ye Wanjing watched helplessly as Irina let go, allowing the glasses to float away.
“My glasses—”
Caught off guard by this surprise, Ye Wanjing was immediately filled with wind, her cheeks puffing out comically.
Fortunately, the glasses flew straight towards Ye Wanjing, who grasped them in her hand, her racing heart quickly settling down. She then glared angrily at Irina, who had toyed with her.
At this moment, Irina stopped laughing, her mouth moving as if she were saying something, but the wind roared in her ears, making it impossible for Ye Wanjing to hear clearly, only straining to distinguish her lip movements.
“Immediately, pay attention, hold your breath.”
What does that mean?
