Chapter 28 I Am Genius Girl Irina
“Dear residents of City B, several locations in our city have experienced monster attacks. Please evacuate to the nearest safe area, zzzz—”
A strong current sound rang through the broadcast, but it was drowned out by the chaotic voices and the sounds of collapsing buildings.
Not only at the Transportation University where Sumu was, but in order to distract human armed forces and announce the return of monsters, numerous crowded areas in City B experienced monster attacks.
Although most of the monsters that appeared were Level D or below, the damage caused was still countless, and the number of casualties skyrocketed to nearly a thousand in an instant.
Fortunately, the monsters’ intent was not simply to slaughter humans; they were merely trying to induce panic in this way to gain dark magic.
Watching the fleeing crowd below, the green-faced monster resembling a praying mantis grinned wickedly, then easily sliced through the load-bearing column of the building behind it with its sharp claws.
The middle section of the building suddenly tilted, a massive shadow slowly covered one side, bringing an immense sense of oppression, gradually swallowing the remaining sunlight and the flickers of hope in people’s hearts.
Whether indoors or outdoors, everyone was inevitably filled with extreme fear, but powerless, they found it difficult to even lift their legs, merely watching their world collapse before their eyes—
A bright flash of fire broke through the sky, crashing heavily in the direction of the tilting building like an intercontinental missile, instantly dispersing the boundless darkness with the appearance of a divine figure.
Miti unfurled her massive fiery wings behind her, her blazing red hair danced like flames, and she resembled a phoenix reborn from the fire, dignified and sacred.
“It’s Magical Girl Miti! We are saved!”
As someone cried out that name, the crowd, whose spirits had just plummeted to the bottom, began to cheer, watching their savior with admiration.
However, Miti felt increasingly agitated inside, as such incidents had become too frequent for her to handle alone.
Her gaze roamed over the building, and at the last moment before contact, she locked onto the location of the mantis-like monster.
The delight on its face was nauseating, and Miti’s anger began to rise.
“How dare a Level D monster take pleasure in torment?”
An inconspicuous spark fell lightly on the mantis monster’s claw with a flick of her mind, and then, amidst the latter’s astonished expression, it unleashed a terrifying heat wave like nitroglycerin exploding.
The roaring flames in an instant turned it into a bundle of human firewood struggling in a furnace, desperately trying to extinguish the flames on its body while howling and turning to ashes in the wind.
Sumu was right to be scared; Miti’s spark could turn any monster below Level C into a handful of ashes.
But the collapsing building still hindered Miti’s advance.
Countless pieces of debris had begun to fall from the cracks, forcing Miti to wrap her fire wings around the exterior of the building, attempting to prop it back into position.
The cheers of people below were endless, but this did nothing to ease the burden on Miti’s heart until a familiar voice rang in her ears.
“You can let go now.”
Tang Nai’s voice came just in time, instantly relaxing Miti’s complicated expression. At some point, the broken load-bearing column had been repaired, and while the building still tilted slightly, it no longer faced the risk of collapse.
“Continue the cleanup; the next location is the exhibition hall.”
“Understood.”
Miti swiftly transformed into a blazing fire again, slicing through the clouds of darkness on her way, rushing straight into the distance.
Yet, a lingering worry remained in her heart.
Wooden Mouse, you’d better hide well; there are monsters coming to catch you.

When she reopened her eyes, the classroom she had been in was replaced by an unfathomable darkness.
Sumu suddenly became alert, instinctively reaching for her magic storage device, but she grasped nothing.
The surroundings were so dim and cold, resembling a prison, trapping her in bewilderment and helplessness.
Just as she was about to cautiously move in a certain direction, a voice timely echoed from behind her.
“Don’t run around; be careful not to get lost in that woman’s dark magic.”
Sumu turned around in shock, not because she heard a living voice, but because that voice sounded just like her own.
Behind her, a space resembling an interrogation room had inexplicably formed, an old incandescent lamp struggled above to provide light, allowing Sumu to see the appearance of the person in front of her.
Beneath the wide brim of a deep purple witch’s hat was a pink-haired girl almost entirely identical to her. If it weren’t for the other girl having a pair of silver-gray eyes like Tang Nai’s, Sumu wouldn’t have been able to distinguish her from herself.
However, the first impression this girl gave to Sumu was—
“Why is your head so pointy?”
The pointed top of the witch’s hat had been deliberately straightened, making her look less intelligent.
“Just as I expected; you still have the leisure to joke at a time like this.”
“What do you mean? What happened?”
Sumu’s tone was full of confusion; her memory still lingered at the moment of making contact with the pair of obsidian pupils.
“You were attacked by that Serqin woman, idiot. Now, there’s dark magic from her all around you, which is why you can’t see anything.”
Upon hearing this, Sumu blinked, recalling Lu Shan’s words, her expression gradually lighting up.
“Then who are you?”
Noticing Sumu’s interesting reaction, the girl smiled lightly, pulling the brim of her hat higher to reveal her delicate cheek under the shadow.
“I am Genius Girl Irina.”
“Ha? Wait, open your eyes wide and let me see.”
After hearing Irina’s words, only doubt remained in Sumu’s heart.
Please, if there really is a Genius Girl Irina in this world, it should be me.
Moreover, this person claiming to be Irina happened to have a pair of silver-gray eyes identical to a certain silver-haired witch’s, causing her to ponder the relationship between the two.
Could it really be another one of Tang Nai’s quirky jokes?
“You’re overthinking it. If I were Tang Nai, then how would you explain the dark magic stirring around that tempts Serqin?”
Sumu reached into the shadows, and a wave of unbearable restlessness immediately spread through her body via her arm.
She wanted to communicate with the magic within her to dispel the anomaly but found her magic had long been exhausted to the last drop, which made her increasingly uneasy.
“So you didn’t lie to me?”
Irina rolled her eyes at Sumu.
“What would I gain by lying to you? Anyway, you just need to know that I am Irina; the rest is unimportant… Don’t touch that!”
Her voice suddenly rose several degrees, startling Sumu into instinctively drawing back her hand.
In the center of the “interrogation room” where Sumu and Irina were located lay a faintly transparent barrier, which was exactly what Sumu intended to touch.
“My little Sumu, can you just listen to me and let me finish what I have to say?”
Irina sighed, placing her hand on her forehead. Sumu shyly pressed her lips together and unconsciously tucked her hand behind her back.
“We need to wrap up our discussion quickly; otherwise, I’m worried that woman Serqin will soon plot against you.”
