Chapter 34: Drowsy Sleep
“Irina, it’s quite a bad habit to sleep in your clothes. I’ll take care of it this time, but you can’t do this next time.”
Hearing some faint sounds, Sumu frowned.
“It’s fine… I can do it myself…”
In a drowsy state, Sumu tugged at her clothes in front of her, rolled over, and then fell silent again.
Tang Nai sighed helplessly.
“There’s really no choice. Irina, it shouldn’t be a problem to just change your clothes…”
————————————
The world behind closed eyelids is a completely different scene.
Dust floating in the air is illuminated by sunlight, making it seem like a large hand reaching through the window frame, with outlines and substance, hurriedly driving away the shadows in front of her.
As her vision opened up, the first thing to hit her retina was the slightly dim wooden ceiling, stretching far into the distance, particularly spacious.
Coming to her senses, Sumu was leaning against the windowsill, her hand gently resting on the low wooden coffee table.
A cluster of warm white smoke entered her nostrils, and looking down, she saw the tea brewed by Luo Jialan.
As she looked down, Sumu noticed something that made her both surprised and embarrassed.
She was still wearing that gorgeous witch dress, but the chest area was loosely opened down to nearly her lower abdomen, allowing the shadows and whiteness to suddenly flood into her eyes, making her feel a bit dizzy.
How could she be in such an embarrassing position? It was as if she was inviting someone.
Wait, where is this place? Could it be…
As doubt mingled with suspicion, the girl that formed in her mind appeared right in front of her, blushing and covering her eyes tightly with her hands, yet unable to resist peeking through the gaps with her crystal-clear purple eyes.
Sumu hurriedly adjusted her collar, avoiding the impending awkwardness.
But just as she made that decision, everything in her view suddenly shook violently, all colors fading and dissipating, until only a pure gray remained.
The dream ended here.
The next day, after sleeping for ten hours, Sumu stretched lazily, only to find herself lying perfectly in bed, inexplicably draped in a silky printed nightgown.
She blinked, trying hard to recall what happened last night, but her hazy memories had completely cut off after she got into bed.
It was probably Tang Nai’s help again.
Sumu stretched her upper body slightly; the nightgown was particularly loose and delicate, providing no sense of restraint, which made her very satisfied.
However, this fleeting satisfaction vanished when she touched the two straps on her shoulders.
What is this?
With her hands crossed, she gently brushed over her chest, feeling two mounds tightly wrapped, no longer wobbling like usual, seemingly being held firmly, which was oddly comforting.
Trembling, she began to unfasten the buttons on her chest one by one and then tore it open, revealing the full view of that mysterious item.
It was a perfectly fitted light blue bra!
She didn’t even know her size, yet Tang Nai had already customized the right fit for her—what on earth happened last night?
Being seen is one thing, but if Tang Nai took another picture, it would be another matter entirely!
Thinking this, Sumu hurriedly got out of bed, not even bothering to put on slippers, and trotted upstairs barefoot, hitting her tender toes along the way, making her gasp in pain.
“Ah, Sumu, did you sleep well?”
Tang Nai leisurely brought a chocolate mousse to her mouth, glancing at Sumu with interest.
Hearing the familiar tone of the silver-haired girl, Sumu suddenly realized her mischievous intent; she probably wanted to see her flustered and agitated appearance. Since that was the case, she couldn’t let her have the satisfaction so easily.
“Ahem, I slept quite well, but I’m a little curious about this outfit now.”
With that thought, she cleared her throat a couple of times to cover up her inner turmoil, starting to probe indirectly.
“Oh, I specifically picked it out for you. How does it feel? I couldn’t stand seeing you wrap yourself in a towel anymore; I also prepared a few extra bras for you.”
To her surprise, she actually said that without any hesitation! As if she personally sent a rabbit to the surgery room and monitored it the whole way, afraid that Sumu wouldn’t know.
“Shouldn’t you have asked for my consent first?”
Sumu said angrily, crossing her arms in dissatisfaction.
“What consent are you talking about? Sumu, did you sleep too soundly?”
“I definitely fell asleep as soon as I hit the bed; I have no recollection of changing clothes at all!”
Hearing Sumu adamantly state her lack of memory about changing clothes, Tang Nai couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Oh dear, does that mean you were sleepwalking last night?”
While saying this, under Sumu’s nervous gaze, Tang Nai reached into her pocket and pulled out a photo, placing it on the table.
She actually took a picture!
Sumu angrily grabbed the photo, inspected it closely, and found that it wasn’t what she imagined.
In the photo, her expression looked somewhat wooden, wearing the nightgown and facing the camera. Although the lighting was a bit dim, she could still clearly tell it was her.
Rather than being taken secretly, it looked more like she had voluntarily posed for it.
“No, I can’t remember this at all…”
Sumu clutched the photo tightly, scrutinizing it, finally noticing some clues in the color of her eyes.
The image was dark, almost making it impossible to distinguish the color of her eyes, appearing to be deep blue but also could be described as silver-gray.
Could it be that after she fell asleep, Irina quietly came out?
Sumu suddenly panicked and wanted to cover this up.
She didn’t know exactly what Irina was, but the dark magic she commanded was very real, and her strength was truly unfathomable. If Tang Nai found out, who knows how she’d dissect it for research!
“I remember now; I was just a bit out of it while sleeping.”
“Is that so? Speaking of which, you looked a bit dazed while eating hot pot last night. Could it be that you’re sensitive to alcohol?”
“Uh, heh heh, maybe.”
Sumu scratched her head, subtly backing away, nearly slipping down the stairs.
“Uh, I didn’t wear shoes, I must have moved too quickly and got a little disoriented.”
Finding an excuse, Sumu swiftly ran back downstairs, planning to ask Irina properly.
Could she actually come out without seeking her consent?
“Irina, are you there?”
“Yes, it was me who changed your clothes last night.”
Irina said in a muffled voice, sounding as if she hadn’t recovered from the pain of being spanked.
Sumu found herself at a loss for how to face her, after all, all of Irina’s earlier appearances had been to protect her, and what she did last night wasn’t exactly over the line.
But that made her somewhat uneasy.
“Don’t think too much. I understand your concerns; you’ll know these things sooner or later. It’s just not convenient to tell you right now.”
“—In any case, you just need to remember one thing: I will never do anything against your interests. Whenever, I will prioritize protecting you.”
Irina’s tone suddenly became serious, declaring with conviction, causing Sumu to feel a moment of daze.
It was a heartfelt truth.
