Chapter 364 Sharp Fangs
Feng Yue dared not let Xue Bilian see her until Lin Ye’s location was confirmed. She was afraid Xue Bilian would misunderstand her. Feng Yue pondered for a moment, then immediately left the place and walked in another direction.
This was towards the west of the city. A dilapidated blue-stone slab street. Due to last night’s rain, the moss on the bluestone slabs was steaming under the sun, as if being roasted by fire.
Stepping on the stone slabs, it felt slippery, and Feng Yue almost fell several times. “Kid, you’d better not let me find you, or I’ll skin you alive.”
Feng Yue walked on, lost in thought. Unconsciously, she entered a narrow alley.
Looking up, she saw that the alley was deep and terrifying, bottomless, with not a trace of light.
“Damn, how did I get here?”
Feng Yue was greatly startled and was about to retreat when a monster suddenly walked out of the alley. It was covered in red scales, about three meters long and one meter high, with horns on its head.
The monster’s blood-red eyes bulged out, hanging on its sockets, and rotated bizarrely. Then, it glared ferociously at Feng Yue, its mouth opened, revealing sharp fangs inside.
Its nostrils puffed out white mist-like airflow, and at the same time, its long tail bent backward from its spine, resting on its forehead. It let out a low growl.
This was the monster’s preparation before attacking.
Feng Yue had never seen a real monster before. She thought perhaps this monster had killed those women. She never expected it to be hiding in such a cursed place.
Feeling angry, she raised her weapon and thrust it at the monster. Seeing Feng Yue thrust her weapon at it, the monster roared, leaped out of the alley, and pounced fiercely at Feng Yue, completely disregarding the threat of her weapon.
With that leap, the monster actually jumped four meters high.
Feng Yue’s bronze spear passed Feng Yue’s belly, closely following the monster. The tip of the monster’s long tail suddenly slipped down from its back and struck Feng Yue’s right arm heavily, breaking it with a crack.
Tears streamed from Feng Yue’s eyes from the pain, and she lost her grip, dropping her weapon and falling to the ground.
The monster landed, agilely turned around, its blood-red eyes glinting with an icy coldness. It glared at Feng Yue in anger.
Feng Yue got up from the ground, her face looking tragic as she gazed at the monster before her. She burst into laughter, “I never thought I, Feng Yue, would die at your hands, you beast, today. Heaven has no eyes. Beast, kill me if you dare.” Although she said this, she was very scared, truly worried that the monster would cut off her head like it did to those women, turning her into a headless corpse. Such a result was something she would not even dare to dream of.
The monster faced Feng Yue and opened its bloody maw again, but it did not bite her directly. Its long tail slipped from behind again, swaying strangely. A long, thorn-like stinger suddenly extended from the tip of its tail.
The stinger was blood-red in color and dripped blood-red venom.
The blood smell emanating from the venom was enough to make one feel suffocated.
Feng Yue immediately covered her nostrils with her hand. At this very moment, the stinger on the monster’s tail suddenly stabbed towards Feng Yue. It was as fast as a lightning flash.
Feng Yue gritted her teeth and rolled to the side.
Ding! The stinger on the monster’s tail narrowly missed Feng Yue’s body and plunged deep into the ground.
Seeing this, Feng Yue endured the pain, picked up the bronze spear that had fallen to the ground with one hand, and fiercely chopped at the monster’s tail. Her intention was to chop off the monster’s tail in one blow and then find an opportunity to escape.
The question was, could her strike be effective? In a life-or-death situation, it was unknown.
Just as Feng Yue’s spear was about to strike the monster’s tail, the monster, instead of dodging, raised its tail to meet Feng Yue’s descending bronze spear.
Pfft! The blade of the spear struck the monster’s tail, but with a swish, it slid off.
Feng Yue was stunned and thought, “I’m finished this time. Damn monster, I’ll drag you to hell with me even if I die.”
As the thought arose, she endured the pain and channeled her energy, leaping upwards. She landed steadily on the monster’s spine and reached down to try and grip the red scales on its back.
Unexpectedly, the scales on the monster’s body were extremely slippery, as if coated with oil. Her fingers slid off when she tried to grip them, and she felt something amiss beneath her.
The monster roared, reared its front half upwards, and with a slight shake, Feng Yue lost her balance and fell.
Unluckily, her injured arm hit the ground. With a crack, the bone inside broke into two pieces. Feng Yue immediately burst into tears of pain, her lips turning pale.
The abominable monster, completely ignoring her pain, twisted its head, opened its bloody maw, and bit down fiercely towards Feng Yue’s head. “Little brother, save me.”
Feng Yue knew her life was forfeit. She simply lay flat on the ground, motionless, but still called for help.
This, however, made the monster pause, wondering what trick this damned woman was up to. In this moment of hesitation, a tremendous turn of events occurred. A person suddenly appeared in the open space behind the monster.
The monster sensed danger and turned its head.
A figure leaped up, reaching a height of five zhang.
Holding a blood-red treasure sword, it descended from above and thrust it down at the monster.
That person was Lin Ye! That sword was the Hell Sword!
The man and the sword worked together marvelously.
A pair of eyes flashing with green light glared at it in anger.
The Hell Sword, carrying a chilling wind, stabbed towards it.
The monster naturally did not believe that this man could do anything to it. It was supremely confident.
Overconfidence led to the fatal mistake of underestimating the enemy.
The monster still wanted to deal with Lin Ye the same way it dealt with Feng Yue. It raised its long tail and swept it like lightning towards Lin Ye. But Lin Ye ignored the monster’s tail, its attack speed undiminished.
Ch! The blade of Lin Ye’s sword actually pierced through the gap of the monster’s sweeping tail and plunged deep into its right eye. A stream of pus and blood, along with brain matter, spurted out, nearly covering Lin Ye’s face.
The monster let out a tragic howl and turned to run. Lin Ye flipped and rode onto the monster’s neck, pulled out the blood-colored treasure sword deeply embedded in the monster’s right eye, and thrust it fiercely into the monster’s neck.
The scales on the monster’s neck were originally tougher than those on other parts, but they still could not withstand the attack of the Hell Sword.
In an instant, the scales were pierced by the blood-red blade, penetrating the flesh and sinking into the throat. The tip of the sword, accompanied by gushing blood, pierced through to the other side.
At this moment, the dying monster, struggling, had dragged Lin Ye tens of meters and arrived on the street outside.
