Chapter 418: Encountering Trouble
Madam Xiao couldn’t believe it, so she quietly ran back and told Mo Ming and Molly what she had seen and felt. Molly naturally didn’t believe her and stared at her in astonishment.
Mo Ming’s emotions seemed a bit agitated. He said, “How is this possible? Absolutely impossible! Mo Lian will never let us off easily. She must be playing some trick to lure us all into a trap.” Molly added, “Exactly, Madam Xiao. I also think General Mo’s words make sense. Mo Lian and her subordinates disappearing into thin air can only mean she has another plan to deal with us. We must not let our guard down, lest we fall for that vixen’s scheme and regret it when it’s too late.”
Madam Xiao said, “I’ve thought of that too. Before the situation is completely clear, I won’t act rashly. Besides, my son and the Little Fairy are still inside and haven’t come out yet. Even if something happens, we have to wait until they come out.” Just as she was speaking, a loud “plop” suddenly came from deep within the cave.
Molly was startled, and her expression immediately became tense. She said, “Could it be that little brother is in trouble? Madam Xiao, I’ll go take a look.” After speaking, she stood up and was about to go inside.
Madam Xiao was quick with her hands, grabbing her and saying, “Wait a moment. I feel someone coming out from inside. It should be my son and the Little Fairy. But listening to the sound, it doesn’t seem like two people. Strange, who else is hiding inside for so long that we haven’t discovered?” As soon as Madam Xiao finished speaking, the sound of footsteps indeed came from inside.
The person’s movements were incredibly fast, and in the blink of an eye, they were in front of them. It was Hong Chen from Ming Du.
Everyone was greatly surprised to see Hong Chen unexpectedly.
Molly was overjoyed. She jumped up and hugged Hong Chen, saying, “Sister Hong Chen, I’ve missed you so much! How did you get here? Did you encounter little brother and the Little Fairy inside? Is little brother okay?” Madam Xiao and Mo Ming stared at Hong Chen in surprise.
Hong Chen said, “I didn’t see those two. My elder sister, Xue Bilian, heard that you were expelled to the Primitive Forest by Fei Bu Fan and was worried something might happen, so she sent me to find you. You can leave this place by following the path I came.” Madam Xiao said, “It’s rare for your leader to be so thoughtful. If it weren’t for you, we probably wouldn’t have much chance of getting out of here.”
Madam Xiao then said to Mo Ming, “General Mo, let’s follow Hong Chen’s suggestion. We’ll go in to find my son and the others, and then leave through the secret passage Hong Chen mentioned.” Molly no longer felt scared. She trusted Hong Chen’s words, and finally, there was hope. She wouldn’t die in this damned place.
After leaving, she would definitely take a good bath and sleep well, making up for all the exhaustion and losses from these days of desperate flight.
Mo Ming nodded in agreement. Then, several people quietly returned to the cave. To their surprise, not long after they entered, Lin Ye and the Little Fairy came out. The Little Fairy was greatly surprised to see Hong Chen.
Hong Chen’s gaze was infatuated as she stared at Lin Ye. She wanted to say something but didn’t. A sparkle shone in her eyes. As long as little brother was fine, she could rest assured.
Hong Chen didn’t know when she had fallen for Lin Ye. During the days Lin Ye was away from Ming Du, she couldn’t sleep at night, her mind filled with Lin Ye’s image.
In fact, she was the one who actively requested Xue Bilian to come find them. Xue Bilian, worried about Lin Ye, agreed without a second word.
Now that she saw Lin Ye was safe, the stone she had been carrying in her heart could finally be put down. “Sister Hong Chen, why did you come alone? You’re amazing,” the Little Fairy said with a giggle, stepping forward to hold Hong Chen’s hand.
Hong Chen said, “My elder sister sent me to find you. I’m so happy to see you’re all okay. Let’s go out. We can talk about anything once we’re in a safe place outside. Everyone, follow me.” As she said this, Hong Chen glanced at Lin Ye with a sweet smile, turned, and walked towards the depths of the cave.
Lin Ye said, “Let’s go. Let’s leave here with Sister Hong Chen. That damned vixen will be so angry.”
Molly said, “Yeah, let’s make her angry. Who asked her to pester us? Hmph.”
Everyone followed Hong Chen into a mysterious and narrow secret passage. They walked and stopped along the way, and after an unknown amount of time, they arrived inside a spacious, hall-like cave.
The cave was brilliant. Four massive stone pillars stood imposing in the center of the hall, emitting a dazzling green phosphorescence, which was remarkably beautiful.
Seeing all of this, the Little Fairy was extremely excited. She walked around the hall, her face slightly flushed. She said, “I can’t believe Sister Hong Chen is so amazing to have found such a beautiful place. I truly admire her.” Requesting flowers (Author’s note).
Hong Chen smiled and said, “This is what they call ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way.’ Fei Bu Fan never imagined that there was a secret passage in this cave that he never knew about.
It seems heaven has eyes and has helped us overcome this immediate difficulty. Oh, this place is absolutely safe. Everyone, let’s stop and rest for a while before moving on.”
Mo Ming, having sustained injuries, was indeed a bit tired and sat down on a rock to rest.
Madam Xiao and Lin Ye agreed with Hong Chen’s suggestion and stopped.
Molly walked over and ran her hand over the green lava on the stone pillar, seemingly reluctant to leave. She said, “These pillars are too beautiful. If I could stay here for a while, I would die without regret.”
The Little Fairy approached and said, “Hey, hey, Sister Molly, what’s the first thing you’ll do after we get out? Can you reveal a little bit to me?”
Molly gave her a sideways glance. “Sorry, that’s classified information. No comment.”
The Little Fairy sneered, “I don’t care about anything else, but as long as you don’t try to get any ideas about little brother when we get out.”
Molly said, “You too. If you dare to get any ideas about little brother after we get out, I swear I’ll never be done with you.”
The Little Fairy was startled, “Sister Molly, you…”
“Oh dear, I say you two stop arguing. It’s just one man, won’t you let me have him? I’ll take good care of your little brother.”
Suddenly, Hong Chen walked over, looking at them mysteriously, and muttered softly.
The Little Fairy and Molly both stared at Hong Chen in a daze, unexpectedly finding out that she also had these strange thoughts about little brother.
Hong Chen smugly curled her lips, gave a sly smile, and ran off.
Lin Ye had already heard their conversation but pretended not to hear it, discussing something with Madam Xiao and Mo Ming. It was evident from his expression that he was pleased. With so many beautiful women vying for him, he couldn’t be happier.
He glanced back to see no unusual activity, indicating that Mo Lian was still unaware that they had escaped right under her nose. Lin Ye suggested they take this opportunity to get a good night’s sleep, taking turns standing guard to prevent the enemy from discovering them and coming after them.
After discussing, everyone agreed. As dawn approached, they woke up and continued to walk forward along the cave. After about an hour, they suddenly heard the sound of flowing water ahead.
