Chapter 118 The Gospel Cathedral
“Do you know that Mage Selwin?”
Moria walked ahead, saying he was going to see how Harik was doing now, and before Li Wen knew how to leave here, he might as well stroll around while Marymana was having a private talk with the princess of the kingdom.
“We had a few pleasant exchanges, Mr. Selwin’s attainments in magic are admirable,” Moria said sincerely. He had undergone training as a Holy See Demon Hunter, and was by no means ignorant of magic. If conditions allowed, he could even use magic to fight.
Li Wen suddenly realized that the “exchange” might not refer to verbal communication.
Selwin could serve as the temporary acting society leader of the Sorcery Anomalies Hand, so his strength and profound magic knowledge were naturally beyond doubt. It was rather Moria who could have several “exchanges” with him, which shows he is indeed the Eldest Son of the Holy See.
Moria led Li Wen through a corridor and stopped at a room, knocking on the door. After a while, a faint “Come in” came from inside.
Li Wen watched Moria push the door open and walk in. She did not go in, but only watched from outside.
Inside was a simple bedroom. The room was not large, but it was comfortable for one person to live in. The Wild Mage Harik was obviously the current owner of this bedroom, but for some reason, the Wild Mage was haggard, and his already down-and-out appearance looked even more embarrassed, lacking any grace of a mage.
Li Wen retracted her gaze and waited quietly. Not long after, Moria came out again.
After Moria closed the door again, Li Wen asked, “What’s wrong with him? Is he not going to be a mage anymore?”
Moria sighed, not knowing where to start.
“Nasha is gone.”
Upon hearing this, Li Wen realized that the other person of the Wild Mage duo, who should have been inseparable from Harik, was indeed not present.
“It was probably yesterday when we arrived in Leicester, Nasha claimed she had to leave… but after she left, she never returned. We were afraid she had encountered some trouble, so we searched everywhere, but could not find her.”
Li Wen raised an eyebrow. It was not surprising for anything to happen to a young girl disappearing in a strange city.
Moreover, she was a weak Transcendent. In the black market of the occult, bodily parts of Transcendent beings were the hottest commodities. Whether it was internal organs, flesh, or bones, they were all good materials for sacrifices, rituals, or spells.
“Harik found a letter in his luggage. It was left by Nasha. Harik is very sure, but it only says ‘goodbye’.” Moria’s next words stopped Li Wen from thinking further.
“So, she deliberately ran away?”
“Rather than running away, it’s more like she vanished without a trace.”
Moria said. He had been paying attention to the surroundings at that time, but the fact was that without any suspicious movements, Nasha had disappeared without a trace.
“Harik is very sad about this. He thinks it’s his fault, but the reality is, no one knows why Nasha left.”
Li Wen did not want to think about things that were unrelated to herself or the Original Text.
After all, the drama of men abandoning women or women abandoning men was common, and it was hard to get interested.
As if feeling that such a matter was not of much significance to Li Wen, Moria also changed the subject, “I’m going to the Gospel Cathedral. Do you want to come?”
The first thing he did upon arriving in Leicester was bring Harik to the Sorcery Anomalies Hand Association. Coupled with the time spent comforting Harik last night and this morning, hoping he would get over his sadness soon, Moria had not visited Leicester’s largest church, the Gospel Cathedral.
“Church?”
“Yes, I need a new sword to deal with potential enemies.” Moria nodded. Moreover, he had some things to hand over to the Secret Church.
That’s right, Li Wen thought that Moria’s weapon had been damaged in the battle at Wilson’s mansion.
Li Wen thought about what else she needed to do. The bait had been cast, and she was just waiting for the Leader of the Wolf Pack and the Sorcery Anomalies Hand to act. This meant that before dawn tomorrow, she did not need to do anything else, just wait for the opportune moment.
“Then I’ll go with you,” Li Wen said.
The Gospel Cathedral was known as the largest and most famous church in Leicester City. Its existence could be traced back to the early days of the Kingdom of Arthur. There might be clues about Saint Floranne and Moen Abbey.
Moria was somewhat surprised by this but said nothing. He led Li Wen back to the hall with many corridors, walked up to one of the deserted corridors, and softly chanted an incantation.
The corridor in front of them twisted and changed. A set of downward stairs appeared at the end of the originally dark and lightless corridor.
Moria went down the stairs first, and Li Wen followed closely.
Although the stairs did not seem long, they still walked for quite some time.
Until a moment of dizziness, Li Wen felt the environment around her change, and only then did she realize that she had left the Sorcery Anomalies Hand and returned to the streets of the Red Oak District, and that the stairs that brought them here were just ordinary stairs connecting the upper and lower roads by the roadside.
Miraculous magic, Li Wen couldn’t help but think.
The Leicester Gospel Cathedral was not far from Mitreton College. Since there was no need to save time, the two did not choose to take a carriage. After walking for more than half a block, Li Wen spotted the towering spire of the Gospel Cathedral from afar.
Unlike the classical and ancient Moen Abbey, the Gospel Cathedral, from top to bottom, was filled with a strong modern style in every brick, tile, and stained-glass layout. It was new and sacred, as if something from a painting had appeared in reality. In addition, its other characteristic was its size, it was very large.
Based on Li Wen’s experiences in this life alone, the only religious building larger than it was the Amber Temple in Amber City.
The Gospel Cathedral was crowded with people at the moment. Besides the believers of Glor, there were also some visitors from other places, as well as some players. Those players were not looking for any quests or secrets in the church. Perhaps some were, but more of them were sightseers.
They played the game not for leveling up or making money, but simply because they liked to appreciate the scenery that was hard to find in reality. That was all.
Li Wen and Moria walked through the crowd and entered the church.
“Hello, is Bishop Carlo here?”
Moria stopped a nun and asked politely.
“Who are you?” The nun looked at him confusedly.
“If he is here, please trouble yourself to tell him that Moria Einon has something to ask of him.”
