Chapter 9 Ascension
A gap appeared in the void of darkness, and light seeped through from it.
The light shone on Li Wen’s face, but she couldn’t feel any warmth. It was like icy daggers piercing her from the inside out. Amidst the suffocating sensation and pain, she felt inhuman eyes watching her.
The gap was a passageway, an eye, and a portal to the outside world. As the external existence gazed at Li Wen through the light, Li Wen also saw that supreme, great existence through the gap.
It resided in a pure white, noble palace, far grander than the sun. It emanated infinite splendor, and angels within the light praised the supreme, great Lord. Symphony-like prayers were everywhere. Bathed in endless glory was one form of Glor, the crown of the sun!
In that moment, a scorching flame ignited within her, and Li Wen’s entire body was enveloped in white flame. Her consciousness merged with the fire, and in that instant, she understood. She was the moth that, while chasing the light, died in the flames.

In the main hall of the church, the intensely flickering candlelight immediately calmed. The sacrificial bonfire had been extinguished, and the ritual magic circle had faded to the point of being almost unrecognizable. Only seven candles still emitted light.
Li Wen opened her eyes. In her right eye, a deep crimson, like the glow of the setting sun, seemed to flow.

Li Wen looked at her palm. The wound she had cut with the dagger had healed, replaced by a semicircular pattern resembling a flame or the sun. Inside the semicircle, a moth was flying.
Without further thought, she summoned her spellbook and opened the character page:

Successfully ascending to Supplicant did not bring significant external changes to Li Wen’s abilities. After all, this was only Stage One, and Supplicant was a support-type class.
However, with a class, the experience pool became useful, and she could now level up freely.

The abilities a Supplicant can master total four, and Prayer, being an ability that can be mastered from the start, needs no further explanation of its power. As a support skill, Prayer possesses multiple functions such as defense, recovery, dispelling, offense, and debuffs, making its versatility unparalleled and a divine skill in any situation.
Candlelight Blood is also a very powerful trait.
In the game “World Tree: Origin”, Mana points are very precious. They cannot be restored through conventional means, only through the passage of time or unique skills of some classes, such as Meditation or Prayer.
Therefore, any method that can quickly restore Mana is extremely valuable. Although Candlelight Blood cannot restore Mana, it can substitute it with life force in emergencies, which might yield unexpected results.
With these two abilities and traits, Li Wen felt she was one step closer to her goal.
Just as Li Wen was about to clean up the ritual site, a cold voice came from behind her.
“You need to do something for me.”
Li Wen turned around and saw Mog, dressed in priest’s robes.
“You are the only one who can do this for me. Siswell has forbidden me from acting rashly.” Priest Mog’s expression was very grim. He glanced at the ritual magic circle behind the girl, showing no concern.
Is this a quest assignment?
There are many ways to gain experience in “World Tree: Origin,” such as learning, working, killing, and even exploring the world. However, arguably the most effective way to gain experience is by participating in world progression, which players commonly refer to as completing quests.
Li Wen had just ascended and was in need of experience, so she was naturally willing to accept any offer, no matter how small.

After cleaning up the site and returning to the nun’s dormitory, she was contemplating whether to allocate her experience to Prayer. She wasn’t sure if these 20 experience points were enough to level up, but based on her past experiences, it likely wasn’t.
At that moment, there was a knock on her door.
Li Wen paused her thoughts and opened the door.
No one was there. Only an envelope lay on the floor. The envelope had “For Priest Mog” written on it.
A letter for Priest Mog would naturally not be delivered to the nun’s dormitory. This meant someone deliberately dropped it at her place. This person was most likely Mog himself, or perhaps someone else, but that person would also be Mog’s accomplice.
Considering this, Li Wen picked up the envelope and, without hesitation, opened it to check its contents.
Inside the envelope was only a strange gold coin and a piece of letter paper with a few crookedly written words:
“The time has come. Twin moons rise. Black Wind Fangs.”

My friend dragged me to play the ruins 2, and it was quite engaging. I suddenly remembered I hadn’t updated, so I quickly wrote a chapter.
