Chapter 97 Arriving in Leicester
Relying on Marymana, Moria could only leave helplessly, leaving a message for Li Wen – “After things are over, you can find him at Leicester Gospel Cathedral, he will be waiting there.”
She swore in her heart that she would avoid all churches.
On the evening they arrived in Leicester on the Talanis Air Continent, Li Wen completed the establishment of the magic circle model and drew the errors, or rather, the problematic parts, on paper in the form of magic circle patterns.
The paper and pen used were magical items provided by Marymana, allowing her to record the ever-changing magic circle patterns through drawings.
“Is that it?”
Looking at the drawing Li Wen handed her, Marymana seemed a little surprised.
Although it wasn’t written in magical script, it was even more difficult in the form of formation patterns, and Li Wen’s submitted “homework” was flawless. Thus, Marymana secretly raised her evaluation of Li Wen another notch.
Putting away the drawing, Marymana showed a big smile: “Great, you did a very good job! What kind of reward do you want? Let me think… how about the latest magic staff from the Padnezh Wand Workshop?”
Li Wen shook her head. She wasn’t a mage, so what use would a magic staff be? Besides, she wasn’t doing this for a reward, only to reach Leicester as quickly as possible.
However, refusing any reward would seem too suspicious, especially since her current fake identity was Miranda’s apprentice, and Marymana was Miranda’s good friend.
In that case…
“If you insist… then I would like a magic map of Leicester,” Li Wen said, stating what she needed most.
Magic maps were naturally maps imbued with magic, which could be considered ultra-high-definition and real-time changing satellite maps in the magical world, possessing extremely high practicality and strategic value. The Ring White Bird Association, while being a magical society, was also the largest producer of magic maps within Arthur.
They patrolled the entire territory of Arthur every six months, knowing every plant and tree in the country. It wasn’t just magic maps of single regions, they could even record the entire country.
The only problem was that no Transcendent could possess a magic map without permission. This item was even hard to find in the black market, having value but no market.
“A magic map?” Marymana looked at Li Wen and said humorously, “What do you want that for?”
“I need to stay in Leicester for a while to prepare for my Stage Two promotion. If I had a magic map, it would be much more convenient.”
This was the complete truth, and even Li Wen herself couldn’t find fault with it.
“Stage Two promotion? Then why not seek help from the Bird Association, or even from me?”
“If I have to ask someone else for help with my Stage Two promotion, then I might as well go back and buy a noble title and live out my days waiting to die.”
Li Wen said calmly.
Any ambitious Transcendent would try their best to avoid receiving unsolicited help when it came to promotion.
Marymana smiled wryly, “Alright, I’ll give you the map later. Are you leaving right away?”
Hearing this, Li Wen breathed a slight sigh of relief.
If she were a traditional, pedantic guild mage, she would definitely yell at Li Wen right then and there. Magic maps weren’t something that could be handed out casually, and any mistakes arising from it wouldn’t be something anyone could bear.
It could only be said that Li Wen hadn’t misjudged. Miss Marymana, the human mage, unlike those pointy-eared elves, still had a bit of rebellion in her bones.
“Yes, I can’t let my companions wait too long.”
This was naturally a lie.
“Alright then, I still wanted to teach you some magical knowledge that you wouldn’t normally encounter…” Marymana said regretfully, then she grabbed Li Wen’s hand and said seriously, “If you encounter any trouble, you must come and find me, don’t learn from that guy Miranda!”
“I will.”
Li Wen said, if she were truly Miranda’s apprentice.

Leaving Talanis also required teleportation, but unlike before, this time Li Wen wasn’t being taken away by an automaton, but by Marymana herself.
“You’re going to Leicester too?”
Li Wen naturally knew this, otherwise Marymana wouldn’t have met the genuine Miranda’s apprentice in Leicester.
“Yes, I have to announce my arrival to the local magical society. And this time, Talanis will be staying for a slightly longer period. Although the scenery on Talanis is quite good, it does get boring to just stay here.” Marymana quietly slipped an old parchment scroll into Li Wen’s hand.
Li Wen didn’t examine the magic map closely and directly stuffed it into her treasure pouch at her waist.
“Let’s go!”
The blue-haired mage grabbed Li Wen, and fluctuations of magic enveloped them both. The next moment, their figures disappeared from Talanis.
And in a complex alleyway in Leicester City’s old town, the two people who came from above slowly walked out.
Li Wen was still suffering from the discomfort of teleportation. Different teleportation spells, different mages, and even different casting methods all resulted in different outcomes. For example, Li Wen now felt her brain was filled with some invisible substance, and her stomach was churning.
“I’m sorry!” Marymana said with a sheepish laugh, “I’m really not good at this kind of spell…”
Li Wen shook her head, indicating she was fine. After a moment, she felt a bit better and looked at Marymana.
“So… let’s part ways here.”
“Don’t you want to go to the Sorcery Anomalies Hand with me?”
The Sorcery Anomalies Hand was the local magical society in Leicester that Marymana mentioned, and it was also a member of the Magic Committee.
Moria had said she would send the Wild Mage duo to a trustworthy organization, which was likely this society. If Li Wen went there now, wouldn’t that be walking into a trap?
“No need.”
So she immediately refused.
Seeing Li Wen’s firm attitude, Marymana didn’t bring it up again and said softly, “Then let’s part ways here.”
She still liked this quiet young girl, perhaps because she resembled Miranda when she was young. It was a pity that she was Miranda’s apprentice, not hers.
But then she thought, she and Miranda were good friends, so Miranda’s student was naturally her student.
“Talanis will stay in Leicester for at least half a month. During this time, as long as you return to this location and draw a circle and a pentagram here, I will teleport over immediately.”
For an Archmage, this promise was undoubtedly very significant. Not all mages were willing to put aside their research or other matters for someone they had only known for a few days.
Li Wen waved goodbye to Marymana and then walked into the dim city alone.
