The enjoyable versus match has concluded, and several days have passed since then. Currently, I’ve immediately arrived in the ice country Reigand, a world of white snow, but before that, I want to explain the events that occurred over these past few days and what everyone else is doing and where.
First, about the hot news that shook the world. On that day, in Lumiest, fallen angels intervened in the middle of the versus match, and it appears this wasn’t limited to Lumiest alone. In the Eastern Continent, Sylvia and Emma, who were staying as guest generals in Traage, the Beast King Leonhardt in Gordiana, and Serge, who was idly chatting in an orphanage in Delamis, and Estoria, who was working diligently, and at Trisen, under General Dan, fallen angel assassins arrived respectively. Of course, these individuals, possessing strength comparable to the members of this versus match, repelled them safely with only minor damage to surrounding facilities. Conversely, they captured the fallen angels and are currently interrogating them intensely.
Well, it’s not like these individuals would lose to opponents with the skill of mere A-Rank adventurers. Dorothy, the Divine Pillar I fought the other day, was honestly a rare case. How lucky I am. I suppose this is all due to my good deeds usually. Hahaha.
…And so, similar attack incidents seem to have occurred on the Western Continent, and even on the Northern Continent, formerly the Underworld, and in the labyrinth country Pub where Efil and others were staying, apparently Mel & the Dragon Kings, the Four Heavenly Kings of Demon, and other powerful individuals yet to be seen dealt with them. This incident targeted those with power comparable to S-Rank adventurers, in other words, overwhelmingly strong individuals. This aligns with Gordiana’s talk of the Ten Authorities, suggesting it was an action to prevent the resurrection of the evil god. However, to defeat such powerful individuals, they should have sent equally capable opponents, so it gives a somewhat crude and questionable impression as an organization. Are they even serious? That’s how it feels.
Next, regarding what the others will do, the Lumiest student and faculty groups will remain in Lumiest to guard the academy and continue to be on alert. This includes Rion, Kuromel, Bel, and Art. Dorothy, in whom I have great expectations for the future, has also undergone preliminary treatment and will be attending school as well. It seems she had some kind of curse (?), but after meeting Rion, she has been completely freed from it. Well, Dorothy is also a victim used by the fallen angels. However, for someone to go so far as to curse her within the Divine Pillars to kill me… there are truly cruel people in this world. They should learn from the pure-hearted Rion and Kuromel, honestly!
Putting aside such frustrations, the other S-Rank adventurers are acting independently.
Gordiana and Bourgewanna are going to the “Sacred Land of Gordia,” and Oddrad is accompanying them. I’m curious about what this sacred land is, but I’ll ask Oddrad about the details later. Honestly, I’m a little afraid to even ask what kind of place it is… I’ll leave it to my future self, yes.
Bak is returning to his home country, Farnis, with the excuse of wanting to blow off steam from the versus match. I didn’t need to hear the details, but he seemed quite desperate, so I hope King of Furnis does his best. Good luck.
And our Boss Shin, to compile information from guild branches nationwide and devise countermeasures, has already returned to Pub Headquarters. Surprisingly, he seems to be acting seriously, which genuinely shocked me. Well, it’s the expected course of action, but after seeing Boss act so freely, it’s hard to believe… Anyway, I hope Boss does his best on his end. By the way, about the “Grim Reaper Kelvin Agonizing Poem Collection” sold at the guild stall during the versus match, what was that all about? Shin Reinihart was listed as the editor, what kind of joke was that?
As for my remaining disciples, Suzu and Paul-kun, and Shinjir, they have all chosen different paths. In Suzu’s case, I tend to treat her like a younger girl, but I must not forget. She is, in fact, the Guild Master of Traage. With the excuse of the versus match trip now over, she has no choice but to return to Traage. The investigation into the fallen angel incident in Traage is also precisely Suzu’s responsibility, so she is returning to the Eastern Continent at this time. She was crying buckets when we parted, but I’m a little worried if she’ll be alright after returning. I mean, she’s become incomparably stronger than before, but in a mental sense, you know?
Shinjir was with us until then to reunite with his party left behind at Pub. After that, he went his separate way, saying he would check if the hometown of Lady Respect, Lady Ice, was safe. I did confirm his destination, but I believe Shinjir can handle most things on his own. He hasn’t been trained weakly, after all. It’s alright, he can win, he can win.
And finally, Paul-kun. I expected him to go his separate way after reuniting with his party at Pub, just like Shinjir— No, before explaining Paul-kun, I must first talk about three students from Lumiest.
The names of those students are Edgar Lausser, Ax Es, and Perrona Madonna. All three are students in the same year as Rion and are also related to the ice country Reigand where I am now. Edgar, in particular, is a prince of Reigand and is seemingly in a position to lead the country in the future. And what happened to these three? After the versus match ended, they went missing from the academy. This incident, revealed at the request of the King of Reigand, who had come to watch the versus match, was only known to the minimum necessary individuals due to its sensitive nature, and a search is currently underway.
The one most suspected first was Dorothy, the Divine Pillar, who had become able to use “King’s Command” through the power of “Heroic Recollection.” Naturally, Dorothy was interrogated, and she surprisingly candidly admitted to having used her power on Edgar. However, she stated that the way she used the power was only for practice like a preliminary match for the versus, and she kept it at a level that wouldn’t raise suspicion in school life, such as showing affection. (Some students seemed to fall into her trap even without her using her power). On the day of the versus match, she claimed she was only involved in securing some students as hostages for the fallen angels during the match itself and had no involvement with Edgar at all.
There were, of course, suggestions that her testimony might be a lie, but now that the curse has been purified, Dorothy has no reason to side with the fallen angels. This means the three went missing of their own volition or were caught in some kind of trouble— Well, it’s highly probable that the fallen angels did something malicious. There’s also information from the Adventurer Guild about adventurers who witnessed a suspicious trio heading towards Reigand, so perhaps we might be the ones to find them. Since they seem to be acquaintances of Rion, I’ll keep it in the back of my mind, which is what my usual self would have thought and concluded.
…However, this story didn’t end there. Returning to the matter of Paul-kun from earlier, upon arriving at Pub and reuniting with his companions, he stated the following.
“Listen, Master Kelvin. Actually, I was the First Prince of the ice country Reigand. I’ve been disowned now, but technically, I’m Edgar’s older brother.”
This is going to get complicated, I thought, wrinkling my brow.
