The Blood-Soaked Knight King. A secret art born from the fusion of two battle-hardened individuals, Sera and Gerard, it produces a vicious power that can reach the level of the “Guardian God,” Isabel. This power, capable of destroying even gods, was made possible by a miraculous compatibility between the two individuals’ Unique Skills, which worked in tandem. The principle behind it is as follows.
First, Sera dons Gerard’s armor, but not in the conventional sense. Using “Blood Manipulation Technique,” she manipulates her blood, filling Gerard’s armor with the maximum amount she can currently expel from her body. This is where it all begins. With her armor filled with her own blood, Sera then activates “Blood Dye.” She commands the blood-filled armor of Gerard to evolve into equipment capable of exhibiting potential beyond its limits, essentially becoming Sera’s strongest possible gear, at the risk of her own life. She willed it to be controllable as an extension of her own body, to incorporate even the armor she was currently wearing, and to utilize all its elements to become the strongest version of herself she could imagine in her mind—Sera’s blood flows from the inside of the armor to the outside, permeating the entire armor with blood and her will.
Then, Gerard, in order to fulfill Sera’s wish, activated a certain power. The Unique Skill “Self-Transcendence,” which enhances the performance of equipped arms and armor. Amplified beyond normal capabilities by Sera’s “Blood Dye,” Gerard treated both himself and Sera’s blood as equipment, leading to a dramatic increase in performance. However, this was not the end. As the performance of Sera’s blood increased, the power of her “Blood Dye” commands also amplified, which in turn further boosted Gerard’s “Self-Transcendence”—thus, a kind of infinite power-up mechanism was born. The fused form of Sera and Gerard, having long surpassed their current limits, thus stood before Isabel.
“”What magnificent sword strokes! But I can see them! And because I can see them, I can learn! I will devour you, I will devour all of you!””
“To possess such ambition at this juncture! And such tremendous absorption! I understand, I truly do! Even as our blades clash, you are growing at a furious pace!”
The swords of both combatants were eternally equal, or rather, each honed the other’s blade, allowing them to ascend to greater heights while remaining equal. Sera and Gerard, possessing the infinite growth mechanism, constantly utilized it. Isabel, reveling in the peak of joy in her divine existence, unleashed everything she had cultivated for the sake of the child before her. With every clash of swords, both parties grew stronger.
Furthermore, it wasn’t just the two swords they wielded that engaged in intense offense and defense at this very moment. Other blades, deployed moments before, were simultaneously participating in this all-out battle.
—ZUGAGAGAGAGA!
Just now, a portion of the land in White Wing Land collapsed due to the impact of that battle. To understand what had happened, one must first grasp the situation.
On one side was Isabel’s unleashed slaughter barrier, “Optimal Slaughter.” This incredibly thin and flexible barrier, like paper, seemed to flutter in the wind. Despite its ominous name, its appearance was surprisingly pastoral, perhaps leading some to be taken aback. However, its reality was anything but pastoral.
Incredibly long blades were deployed throughout this space, and at the moment Isabel gave her command, they attacked their prey from unpredictable angles. Naturally, not only in the up, down, left, right, and forward/backward directions, but these blades could also freely separate. Before one knew it, guillotines were flying around everywhere, creating a situation that was almost a joke. However, what was more terrifying than its deployment capability was the cruel sharpness of the blades within the barrier. Even the separated blades, reduced to normal guillotine size (though still large by common sense standards), were capable of slicing through the land of White Wing Land all the way to the lowest floor. This meant the slashes had passed through the entire foundation of the floating land. If countless guillotines were to be unleashed in such a state, what would happen to White Wing Land?
…The answer should be obvious. The aforementioned result was only a fraction of the damage; the fragmentation of White Wing Land was steadily progressing. It had gone beyond worrying about the core and had reached a point where one had to be concerned about the entire floating continent being sliced to pieces. As if to represent Isabel’s high tension, the now-versatile guillotine platforms were in a state of rampage.
And on the other side was the eerie, blood-soaked flail sword, “Evil Emperor Tail Sword,” created by Sera and Gerard. Flail swords themselves are rare, and those who can wield them proficiently are even fewer, making it a special weapon. The blades, connected by a wire and possessing a special structure, could extend far and bend like whips. Because they drew trajectories unimaginable with normal swords, they were extremely difficult to parry. However, precisely because of this structure, they were difficult to handle, required tedious maintenance, and had very few creators in this world. While romantic, they were generally an underappreciated weapon.
However, the “Evil Emperor Tail Sword” was an exception to all of this. Indeed, Sera and Gerard had never used a flail sword before. But this weapon had now become a part of their bodies. If it were a natural extension of one’s body, it could be handled as freely as one’s own limbs. Furthermore, as it was both a part of their body and a sword, it fell within the scope of Sera’s “Martial Arts” and Gerard’s “Swordsmanship.” In short, Sera and Gerard could wield this flail sword perfectly. Moreover, this flail sword itself was as vicious as Isabel’s “Optimal Slaughter.”
Against the guillotine blades attacking from all directions, Sera’s sword, extending from her tail, darted through the air freely, repelling them while scattering crimson blood. It extended endlessly, and with each extension, the number of blades attached increased, making the battle of attrition against the guillotines a back-and-forth affair. Furthermore, their sharpness seemed to be on par with the guillotines; the moment their blades met, both were shattered. However, the flail sword did not break so easily. As repeatedly mentioned, this flail sword was a part of Sera’s body, meaning its regeneration speed was correspondingly high, and it would return to its original state in an instant. Facing countless guillotines, this was an immortal sword, breaking repeatedly only to revive again and again.
“A terrifying regeneration speed, magnificent! But it is not infinite! The more you regenerate, the more you are steadily consumed! No, even at this point, it is truly magnificent!”
” “That applies to you as well! As long as you are in White Wing Land, you may have unlimited use of your authority! But the magic power consumed to create the barrier is a completely different matter! You will be the one to run out first!” ”
“No, that is too much complacency! First of all, I don’t believe your magnificent form will last for long! Because it is magnificent, it must have proportionate weaknesses! I truly think it is magnificent, though!”
” “I will make the exact same counterpoint! Your body, which had not been serious for a long time, cannot possibly maintain such immense power at full output! If you were still your true divine self, perhaps, but now you are merely a golem!” ”
“Even so, I—”
” “Even so, we—” ”
—will win. It is good to be so determined, but here the problem becomes a reality. Yes, White Wing Land had finally reached its limit. Even if it was a frontier, such an exceptionally large-scale battle had occurred underground. The land that formed the continent had drastically deformed, and its core had been pulverized. The result was the descent of White Wing Land.
