Chapter 350: A Terrible World
Xia Feng’s vision went black, then bright, and the surroundings changed.
To his surprise, he wasn’t on the Goddess’s vessel. Instead, he was standing on a floating cloud platform.
Cloud platforms, formed from accumulated matter in the Eternal Flow Sea, were typically desolate and uninhabited before they could form into larger islands.
However, at this moment, a dozen figures clad in black robes and wearing gold-eyed masks stood in the center of the platform.
Upon seeing Yellin appear, they all bowed in unison and said in deep, respectful voices, “Master.”
The pink-haired woman nodded slightly and turned her gaze toward Xia Feng.
The dozen golden-eyed figures exchanged glances, then knelt simultaneously, lowering their heads and stating in unison, “Welcome back to our cult, Holy Son Lord!”
Xia Feng: “…”
Just as he expected, it had a cultish vibe. He clasped his hands behind his back and smiled faintly, “Very well. As your Holy Son Lord, I command you to commit suicide immediately. Do not fail!”
Everyone: “…”
“My lords, it seems our Holy Son Lord is quite humorous~” The pink-haired woman sneered, then directly grabbed him by the nape of his neck and flew towards the space gate in the center of the cloud platform.
“Hey, pink-haired lady, is this how you treat your Holy Son Lord?”
Xia Feng’s spiritual pressure was sealed by the pink-haired woman, and shackles were placed on his hands and feet.
He felt less like a revered Holy Son returning to his glorious cult and more like a traitor captured by righteous sects to be executed.
The treatment was too poor!
“Holy Son Lord, my name is Yellin. Based on age, you can call me Aunt Yellin.”
“Okay, Little Yellin.”
Xia Feng smiled and asked, “Are you taking me back to Burning Heaven Island now?”
The pink-haired woman glanced at the man. If it weren’t for the Goddess Venerable’s ambiguous stance towards the Holy Son Lord, she would have already beaten this annoying thing into a pig’s head.
“Holy Son Lord, rest assured. Returning to Burning Heaven Island is only a matter of time, but we need to stay in District 41 for a while.”
Yellin, still holding Xia Feng, stepped directly into the space gate.
The group’s next destination surprised Xia Feng; this space gate actually connected to the mainland of District 41.
The space gate was located in a forest. The group quickly traversed it. As they approached the city’s boundaries, piercing wails gradually began to sound.
Xia Feng looked in the direction of the sound, but unfortunately, with his spiritual pressure sealed, he couldn’t use the Eye of Deconstruction to see anything.
However, as the black-robed figures leaped and soared across the rooftops, Xia Feng, being carried by the pink-haired woman, got a clear view of the hellish scene in the city.
The sky was a murky gray, filled with flashing lightning and rolling thunder. Heavy rain poured down like a celestial waterfall, turning the city streets into rivers. Dense, pale corpses floated on the bloody river, their eyes wide open in their final moments.
Xia Feng’s black eyes narrowed slightly, and he asked with confusion, “Where… is this place?”
“District 41, Helyan City,” Yellin replied calmly.
Helyan City?
Xia Feng was slightly taken aback. They had come this far already?
According to the information he obtained in White Emperor City, the Origin Water collected by the Li Dong Legion on White Emperor Island over the past thirty years was secretly sent to ‘Dong Sheng Fortress in Helyan City, District 41’.
Li Zaishi, an old soldier from White Emperor City, had also asked Xia Feng to look after his daughter if he found her in District 41.
Therefore, Helyan City had become his destination for the past few months.
He had expected to have a lot of trouble clearing customs to enter District 41, but he never expected to be brought here directly by these people from the Goddess Hall.
It just wasn’t a good time to arrive; the city seemed to be undergoing a terrible, large-scale slaughter.
Based on the sights he had seen along the way, Xia Feng deduced that the entire city wasn’t being massacred. Instead, only a dozen or so adjacent streets were sealed off within a gray domain, and the people within were being slaughtered.
After all, Helyan City was a massive metropolis with a population of thirty million. Slaughtering so many people would not be an easy task.
However, even with only these dozen streets, it still involved a population of over a million!
Screams, cries, pleas for mercy, and moans filled the air!
This reminded Xia Feng of the invasion of Blood Calamity Street by the Calamity Eaters in District 51.
It seemed this place had encountered a similar situation, having been invaded by cult forces.
“Which damn force is slaughtering this city?” Xia Feng wondered again.
“It’s us, Holy Son Lord,” Yellin said casually. She took out a compass and said in a deep voice, “Target individual – Che Eunwoo. Display his location.”
As she spoke, a 3D image lit up on the compass.
The image showed about twenty figures fleeing in terror towards them.
Behind them was a gray-haired youth. A blood-red mark flashed between his eyebrows. He strollled leisurely, each step covering more than ten meters.
He twirled a silver handgun in his hand, the corners of his lips curved into a half-smile, “Tsk tsk~ I told you not to run, why are you little mice so disobedient?”
“Bang—”
A high school girl in a school uniform had a bloody hole appear on her forehead. As her dark hair danced, she slowly fell to the ground.
“Sis!!” a hoarse roar erupted simultaneously.
Not far away, a little boy, like a furious young lion, charged straight at the gray-haired youth, his eyes burning with killing intent.
*Tap—* The muzzle of the gun was pressed against his forehead, and the trigger was pulled.
*Bang!!* The terrifying, abnormal firepower completely blew apart the boy’s head. The headless bloody corpse thudded down, kneeling heavily before the gray-haired youth.
!
“What a troublesome kid. You’ve even gotten your clothes dirty.” The gray-haired youth glanced at the bloodstains on his sleeves and angrily kicked the corpse away.
The headless corpse flew into the air and landed with a *splat* next to the girl’s body.
In front of the two corpses, a woman trembled and slowly sank to the ground, her hair disheveled and her face covered in blood.
She stared blankly at the mangled bodies of her children, her eyes turning completely red, her body trembling.
The gray-haired youth sauntered over to the family of three, twirling his gun with his index finger as he squatted down. He raised an eyebrow, “Oho, little beauty~ You dare to glare at me, big brother?”
“Why…” the woman stammered, closing her eyes.
“Haha, why? Can’t you see everyone is having a killing spree? Little beauty, you’re lucky. You’ve been chosen by me, so you’ll die a bit slower~”
“I’ll kill your mother!!”
The woman screamed hysterically, her eyes filled with killing intent, “The Li Dong Legion is stationed near Helyan City! They and the Holy Department won’t let you go! You cult scum are finished!”
“Hahahaha~” The gray-haired youth burst into laughter, unable to catch his breath. “Holy Department? Legion? Little beauty, are you joking with me~”
He slapped the woman’s face with the barrel of his gun, smirking, “Even if I rape and kill you here today, that bunch of idiots in the Military Department won’t vindicate you if they find out, little beauty. Guess why?”
Hearing this, the woman seemed to recall something, and the rage in her eyes intensified, as if her back molars were about to be ground to dust.
“Tsk tsk tsk~ Aren’t you angry? Don’t you think it’s unfair? That’s right, the wicked never face retribution. This world is truly terrible!”
Saying this with a sinister smile, the gray-haired youth gracefully stood up, pointing his gun at an old woman who had fallen into a pool of blood in the distance. It was the woman’s mother.
“No!!” As the woman screamed, a series of gunshots rang out. The old woman was shot in eighteen places.
“This world is so unfair.”
The gray-haired youth, satisfied, lowered his gun and looked down at the woman, smiling and saying in a deep voice, “That’s why our great Burning Heaven believers are needed to change all of this!”
“Screw your mother!”
Xia Feng finally couldn’t hold back and familiarly greeted the man’s mother.
The gray-haired youth heard the voice and looked up. A compass was spinning in the sky, displaying the image.
This compass was equivalent to a device that allowed video calls, connecting the spatial views of both parties.
“Yellin, my dear sister, did your subordinate just insult me?” the gray-haired youth said with a light laugh, but his gaze gradually turned cold.
“What a disgusting voice. Good thing it’s my sister. Brother, can you speak normally?”
The K-Masked Man in the image sneered again, but the pink-haired woman beside him pressed his head down, silencing him.
“Che Eunwoo, go to Pu Yi Plaza and rendezvous with us.”
After saying this, Yellin closed the compass, giving the gray-haired youth no chance to speak.
